The Mephis area must need something to do besides call people. This was my second 901 call in a short amount of time. The man claims to be from some Firefighters Association. He asked how I was doing tonight and I told him I wan't feeling well. He abruptly says that he will call me another time and hangs up! I decided to check out the number here since I had been receiving calls from other 901 numbers. 901-881-2190 & 901-254-8953 reportedly to be associated with Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. I know of some very nice people in Memphis and all over the state. All of the scammers, telemarketers or whatever you call yourselves, get a life! Other people do, and they have better things to do than answer the phone all day.

Same thing happening here in Memphis, TN. After reading everyone's post I decided to *60 (code block through Comcast) the number today. The "charity" must not be important enough for them to leave a message. They hang up every time the answering machine picks up.

Hang up call from them.  According to Local News, this area is currently being PLAGUED by "charitable solicitors" who are NOT legit, even actually mentioning Breast Cancer. Seems to me, an entity that large would show up on Caller ID if it WAS legit, or, if they were truly trying to glean funds for that most worthy cause (&, for instance, using callers /w their own #'s?), would've left a message??  Good for them that they just hung up...I like Jack Oph's post & his Phun with Phonics!!!! My Sentiments Egggsacklee, Mr. Oph!!!

Received call at about 11:15 CST. Caller stated something about Solicitor etc...then Kid's Wish etc...i responded with bad time to call and remove my number from their list, reply was "I can certainly do that". End of call.

I got a call from this number when I was not home.  It is not a number that I know.  I would like for them to quit calling me.

Continually receive calls from these people, even after telling them numerous times to remove my number from their call list.  Today the lady calling from this number was very rude.  She was a smart ***, telling me that they had not received my $50 donation yet.  When I told her I have never agreed to a donation, she said that someone had made a pledge in my name and that I needed to honor it and send them $50.  People should not be allowed to harass you like this.  When you tell them to remove your number from their call list, they should be required to.

Same info as Dee, to a point.  Caller stated, "We would, of course, send you an envelope in the mail, so can the ladies in need depend on your support?" me, "No, I can't at this time; I have no income."  Caller, "O wow." & hung up while I was still talking.  Going to find out if this is legit......highly doubt.

Same thing here.  They just hang up after 1 or 2 rings or if the answering machine picks up, they just hang up.

Just received a call.  They said they were calling in regard to this being Breast Cancer month and wanted to verify my address and asked for a donation of $25.00 toward Breast Cancer research and said I would get a letter in mail in few days for me to send the donation.  Before I thought, I gave my address and told them I would donate.  After I hung up, I thought that it might not be legitimate. I called the number back and got a recording that they were unavailable and to leave a message and then a recording saying their mail box was full and could not accept any more messages.  How do I handle this?
