CALLED WITH NO RESPONSE

Someone named 'Joe Myers' just called from 902-482-1441 claiming to be calling from the "Nova Scotia Police" about a "community project." Since there is no provincial police force in NS, I hung up on him.

Yeah I got the same call from a "Mike Saunders" about "community issues" for my boyfriend. Definitely a scam.

This number is the Police Association of Nova Scotia looking for donations and giving information on upcoming "community" events (not related in any way to any actual police force).  I find it very strange that any legitimate association would not have a more official looking caller ID.  In short, don't be afraid of this number being an outright scam, but also don't be afraid of not answering the phone when this number calls.

This caller never leaves a message but when you call back you get a recording such as this:

We can't take your call right now Please leave your name and number etc..
It doesn't state the company name.  There is other numbers that this message comes from 1-514-288-0420

I got a call today from that same number, but i was not at home

Called asking for Vincent.  Said he had a little project for Vincent.  Said his name was chris leman (sp?). Is anyone else getting other unwanted calls and emails along with this?  I'm suspicious this may be some form of harassment.

I just got this call today for my boyfriend, again asking by first name. I asked for a message, and he just said "its just about some community issues". I asked who was calling and he replied "Mike Saunders". That was all. Skeeettcch!

Calls all the time asking for "Sandra" like he knows me.

They were calling, asked for me by name, wanted money for remembrance day.

Just got this call at 10:15 am. Caller asked for personal information from me and provided no company name. I said I don't want to give out that info over the phone, who are you? And they said "Never mind then" and hung up!

I just received a call from this # 902-482-1441, but was talking and never took the message. I did look up this # and found this site. This could be a possible scam where they make money when you phone this # and you may be charged for returning the call. Be careful of what information you give, better yet, give none nor a phone call responding to this #.

I received a call from this line yesterday around 10 in the morning. All the caller asked was if they can speak to Edward. I said that there's not Edward living here. You got the wrong number. They paused and asked if I was sure. I said yes. They said alright and hung up.

Then I get a call later on in the day from this same number. It was a female asking for Danielle. I said that there's no one here by that name. She said that her name was Denise and she was looking for Danielle. I said that this same number called here earlier looking for someone named edward. And she hung up. Very weird.

It has come to a point where I refuse to answer phone unless I recognize number.
I get them every day and just received  one 5 minutes ago and to make things worse where I live there are at least 3 people who have the exact name as mine

Received a call and no one responded to my numerous hello's...I asked my daughter knew the number which she didn't...she called the number back and it was just a voicemail.  So I figured I would google the number and I find this website....

Called here, no one on the line. 10 minutes later, a telemarketer "Unknown name" The conversation was restricted to him "How are you tonight ma'am?"
Us "P*ss off" Hung up.
Usually do not pick up Unknown, certainly won't any more!

This number called my place about 6 times in the last week. I answered it tonight and said hello till the line dropped.

I get phone calls from this number about 2 times a day, around the same time everyday, and there is never anyone there. Honestly, getting a little sick of it.

This jerk called last night, after midnight, i think crimestoppers needs to reign in there people, this is totaly inappropriate.

Still calling people in the HRM.. just received a call at 9:11 pm on Feb 28/08. Said hello a couple times until the line dropped.

The caller identified themself as a volunteer canvassing for CrimeStoppers - Nova Scotia.  
I followed up online by contacting the Crime Stoppers Campaign Office (Toll Free) at 1-800?890-4090.  The person with which I spoke confirmed that this number was legitimate, taken from a canvassors calling list assigned for one of their clients: ie) Crimestopper:

I received the same call. The guy asked for my mother by name.I told him she was not available and asked to take a message. He said no, it's not important I call back later.

I got a call from this number last night asking for my boyfriend by name. He said the same thing... not important and will call back.

I didn't answere it,because I figured it was one of those blah blah numbers.I did look at the numnber and wrote it down.

Hi,I just got a call from the same number,but I didn't pick it up.I automatically came to this page to look up the number.If they only knew we are on to them LOLOLLLLLLLL

As of 8 pm Feb 14 this male is currently telemarketing in the Musquodoboit exchange, refusing to give any information and apparently working from the phone book.  apply call blocking.

This caller phone last night and tonight and asked for me and I am kinda surprised to see that it has been calling other people too...
My wife says that he seemed to know me as well, so far nothing.

I am going to talk to my friend in the RCMP to find out more about this misterious caller....

Called at 4:02pm Atlantic Time.  I tried to call back and got a female voice saying "we are not able to take you call at this time if you would like to leave a message press 1, please leave us with you info..."

Same thing here called at 7:33pm AST. I answered right away and repeatedly said hello till the line dropped.

This phone keeps calling here 2 or 3 times a night for the past 3 months. Every time I answer it, no one responds. I also called it back and got the same message. So I left several messages and no one has called back. Anyone know how to stop this?
