This has been going on for 5 years now. Many phone calls a day all different numbers, always an indian accent who actually tries to hide his accent but easy to detect as he has been calling for so long. Ive pleaded nicely, Ive screamed and I hang up. I notified the FCC with my list of 43 numbers to no avail.

I am not changing my number either. Its easier to just hang up or not answer .

Ok, these Mother F***ers need to stop. I am going to file a complaint with my Congressman, the DEA, the FTC, and any other agency that even might have something to do with this type of thing. By the way, if you find out where these people really are, please let us know. I will make this problem "go away" if I ever find out who they are.

My number was much different than yours though, mine was 818-499-9555. Best of luck and please contact everyone so we can get this stopped. Like someone said above...this is war.

These people do NOT give up. They call at 6:45 am! We will try the bull horn technique next. We tried giving a false address and false credit card number but forgot to write down what we used. The 'supervisor' took the line and asked for repeat of same. Next time we will write down our 'scam'. There must be a way to get rid of these annoying people.

I am calling the DEA on these a** holes. They called me 2x in the last 10 minutes and have been calling me for years. Same stories as everyone else.

Web Site for the DEA http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/contactinfo.htm call your local office. If we get enough complaints on these people they will act.

It's been awhile since I've received a call after recording them. I got a couple of hang-ups shortly after, but I'd say it's been weeks since I've had any action. But I'm always ready. I'm not sure if it was recording them, reporting to the DEA, the FTC, the Do Not Call lists or what, but something did work after awhile because they aren't bothering me anymore. So try everything and be persistent. Let em know we aren't going to take it. Of course, I'm sorry so many others are now going through it.

I noticed a few people asking/theorizing about how numbers were obtained. I'm pretty secretive about my cell number and only gave it out under special circumstances and don't use Verizon. I've been on Do Not Call lists for years. My husband specializes in computer security and our theory is that they somehow installed cookies on computers that nabbed numbers if you ever typed it in anywhere, even an encrypted page. Since then I also remove cookies from my browser regularly. It's amazing what advertisers and spammers can do with those things.

Good luck!

Started to wonder if they got the hint, it had been a couple days since I have heard from them.  2:15 today I got another one.  He had much more meds for me this time.  I asked if he could get me some oxycotin and he said yes.    He offered phentrimine, soma, viagra, in addition to the xanax.  I asked if they had a website I could look at for more med choices and he said their site was at www.online.com which is bogus.  So after letting him place an order for everything he had he again asked for my visa number.  I said I don't have one.  Well a bank number then.  Again I said I don't have one, I am only 15 years old.  He wanted it anyway so I gave him one.  He figured out I was making it up and asked me if I was mad or crazy.  I said I am not mad, I like you, would you be my friend???  Then he hung up, how rude!
Oh yeah, the call started with me giving him his entire speech, you know the one.  "this is online pharmacy, I see you are taking xanax for aniety ok..."  even with that he still went right into his speech saying everything I had just said.
I have filed complaints with the FCC, Ohio Atty General, and every time they call I file on the do not call site.  It will do no good I know but eventually someone will get as tired of hearing about it as I am of getting the calls.

This call was close to 5 minutes, I am a little disappointed but I still am winning the contest with my wife.  Looks like she is cooking Saturday night.

Kinda makes me wonder which company gave out our information.  They somehow know I have a Visa card.  I do have an account with Amazon and guess which credit card card is through them....Visa.  But that could be a coincidence.  Maybe they don't know whether I do or not, so I am not telling them.
I tried to get my wife to make a game out of the calls.  Whoever could keep them on the line the longest wins and the other has to cook supper on the weekend, or maybe another prize...
Try this one - When you answer the call say nothing after the first "Hello".  Wait for them to say hello.  Then say..."Yes the reason I am calling is ...blah blah"  Try to sell them something, like Xanax for anxiety!  Or tell then you are a reporter doing a story on fake drug companies ......etc...
Keep the suggestions coming, with 5 and 6 calls a day I like to use new material on each of them.  Go to you tune and check out some funny vids of telemarketer pranks.

Oh yeah, I found some interesting info on the auto-dialers they use to call people.  Explains why there is silence when you first answer the phone.  If you say nothing for a couple seconds and then say your first hello, the computer sees it as a no answer and hangs up rather than sending you to those rude people.  And if you say hello like normal and it still hangs up it means there is nobody available at that time, which I do my best to keep them occupied.  Ask them to hold for every little thing works well to waste their time.
When they ask you how you are doing reply with, in your saddest voice possible..."Horrible, nobody likes me.  Everyone says I talk too much and they don't want to be my friend, like the other day, at band camp..." get it.  No matter what they say just keep talking in a run on sentence manner.  It may help to not even have the phone to your ear, that way they can't distract you.

When I call the only phone number that has popped up on my caller I.D. in the last few days, I get a prompt to contact the FTC.

Earlier posters who have contacted the FTC may have made some progress. YAY!

On my end, insisting that the caller must talk about dragons seems to be working.

I only received one more call after the two I posted earlier. Despite my constant "hellos" the caller hung up. I was relieved yet disappointed. My husband and I had cooked up all kinds of replies. Each one based on a surreal theme.

As for now, my husband and I will answer future calls as if we were Salvador Dali. We'll talk about dragons, pretend we're poodles, ask the caller how he or she feels about chocolate shoes or bubble gum cars.

Wow. This is a mess. To be honest, I was surprised that these callers are resorting to profanity. Obviously the calls are not monitored for customer service purposes. I was trying to understand their motives as well. Are these people disgruntled employees who get paid by the number of calls made? Why why why?

I've only received two calls today. Maybe they don't like talking about dragons?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that jerking these people around is working. Let's see if we remain call free all evening.

3:15 Online Pharmacy called me again demanding my Visa number.  He said he knew I had a visa and wanted it now.  I asked him for his number for confirmation(I made it sound like I was hooked) and he gave me 360-654-4392.
My wife told me they called three times prior to this call but she just hangs up on them as soon as they speak.  She doesn't share my sense of humor...
Apparently they only accept Visa or your bank account number.  I tried to get him to let me send a money order and he said they can't do that.  I then told him I was under 18 and would have to ask my dad.  He responded with "You can use anyones credit card, it does not matter, just give me a visa #."
I put him on hold and placed the phone near my PC speakers and began playing a siren sound clip loudly.  He must have hung up...what a shame.  This call lasted over 5 minutes, not my best but I will get another chance in about an hour.

Sounds like you got the same Homo-rep I got.  His name was Shawn, but that name did not match his accent, strange.  When he first began saying things like that to me I commented back...well I won't go into detail of what I said, but he changed what he was saying and started saying the things he wanted to do to my wife.  I did not get mad, just went along with it and got a good laugh.  I ended the call by saying "Shawn you are so funny, I'll talk to you later."  Then hung up.
I don't want them to get the satisfaction of knowing they got to me.

I wonder how well their marketing strategy is working for them.  It makes little sense to continue calling, unless there are people dumb enough(and I am sure there are) to place an order thinking they will quit calling.

Love the Dragon bit.

I received another call at 7:01 p.m. from "Unknown" that my husband intercepted. Again it was the pharmacy people. His response to every question was "Are these the pills that help me to see dragons?" Or "I'll only talk about dragons." And "I'm wasting your time because when you call this number, we will only talk about dragons."

At 8:51 p.m. "Unknown" called again and my husband answered the call. This time the caller said "I want to f*** you." Anytime my husband responded, the caller replied "I want to f*** you."

I've decided that I will continue to call the FTC and add to my complaint. Despite the fact that I was told they can't do anything to stop the calls, I figured the more evidence they have on file, the better.

I get 5 calls a day from these jerks from India asking about the meds their records indicate I am on. (I take nothing at all)  I have tried everything from simply hanging up, asking to be placed on their do not call list, to actually going along with their fake sale.  When I ask them to stop calling, they hang up and call back later.  Today I went politely through the entire ordering process, giving false info of course.  At the end I finally said to the lady to stop calling me, I did not want anything from them.  She said we already have your info now.  Then went on to say I will get twice the amount of calls now.  I asked her why they would want to waste their time like that.  Then like all calls before, she hung up.  I did manage to get them to take down my new false name and number so hopefully they will call that number from now on...
A hint for those who want to give false info to them, have a pen and paper and write down everything you tell them because you will have to repeat it several times.  Know how many digits you need for a checking account or credit card.
Waste as much of their time as you can.  I had them on the phone today for more than ten minutes.  Long enough for my wife to come back in the room and say " You are still talking to them....?"
India Caller -"Could I get your banks phone number?"
Me - "Oh I don't have that info in front of me, let me go find it for you...hold on...."  2 minutes later -  "Sorry I could not find the Banks phone number(or what ever info they want)"
Another thing I do sometimes is when I pick up the phone and say hello and there is no response, I wait a second and when I say hello the second time I say "Hello police department officer Jones how may I help you, Hello Police department...."
They hang up every time.

Bottom line is you will get absolutely NOWHERE by being nice and asking them not to call.  Don't get mad, have fun with them.  Try to get them to talk dirty to you, or give them your order for take out, talk to them with a poor accent.

I've ignored the calls until last week, when the frequency increased from one or two a day to 7.

Filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission will not solve the problem according to the person I spoke to today. Her advice was to register my phone number at Donotcall.gov. I did that last week but it takes 30 days to go into effect. If they continue to call after the 30 days, I can file a complaint with the Do Not Call people.

So for now I will have to endure the harassment and enjoy jerking these people around. This afternoon, I answered the call and said I wanted to order 1000 valium today so I could sell them on the street for twice as much as I paid. If they call back this evening I'm going to pretend I'm a cat.

Here is the info of the company that has been selling your phone numbers to foreigners:

(360) 654-4392Type: Land Line
Provider: Verizon
Location: Marysville, WA

When I called I asked their exact address as from a map on whitepages.com I can tell they are located somewhere on State Street. As soon as I asked that the guy said "F*** off I'm not giving you anything! Why do you want my address?" Because d***hit, you're pretending to be a real business and selling my phone number!!!!

They've been calling 2-3 times a day for about 2 weeks now.  I've been nice, I've yelled, I've threatened...they only hang up on me and call back a few hours later.  I've told them to take me off the list, that I'm not interested, that I'm on the "do not call list"...asked to talk to a supervisor...I just get hung up on.  I tell them I've already talked to them several times, it doesn't change anything.  What can really be done here??
