You owe Capital One money!  That is why!  I can't believe people who wonder why they are being called, but are too afraid of a stranger on the other end to pick up the phone.  PICK IT UP, MORON!  If it is a collector, tell them that the person they are asking for has died and left this earth owing you and everyone else a ton of cash.  Tell him to just get in line.  When they ask for a death certificate tell them that you are not related, don't know where their family is located, but if they find out to please call you back as you want to hit them up for cash too!  Then ask them how the Hell did they get your number in the first place?  Answer the phone!  They aren't going to bite you.  You can always hang up and not answer again, just the same as you are doing now.

I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Most of the time people just ignore this kind of call not knowing that they actually owe money.
I am not a collector neither a scammer, just a simply debtor.

Funny you would look up the number here, since you know who they are.

Usually posts like yours are from the scammers and/or incompetent collectors themselves.

Shills in other words. You know what that means right? If not, look in the mirror.

I received several calls from these guys..
When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).  
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.

This number is a collections person from Capital One.  They are calling to collect a debt.  Their computer randomly makes calls to anyone owing them money, who is late on one or more payments.  Pressing one, puts a live rep on the phone with you.  The live rep will threaten you with further collections actions unless you bring the account current or pay it off completely, if it has been closed out.  

To the person who says her son does not have a Capital One card, I bet he does and hasn't told you about it.  He probably has it run up to the max, with charges for CD's, booze, eating out and prostitutes.  Believe me, kids don't tell their parents every thing.  He just doesn't want to get the lecture about ruining his credit from you.

These idiots are up to something they call my phone once a day about the same time every day and have for three weeks.I haven't answered and wont but i have an automated answering service and they do not leave messages.So i recorded a new answer telling them to state their buisness or i won't call back.I'm interested to see what they do.

god damn! i just recieved a call from them this morning at exactly 9.07 am. i didn't know the number so my celly just had the number on it and when i answered i got this happy sounding guy saying he finally reached me and if i pressed 1 there would be a live representative waiting for me. i had no idea who he was, what the call was about (as he didn't say) and i sure as hell wasn't gonna press no number without any further information. i was pissed to begin with because i am NOT a morning person and i was still asleep, i wasn't gonna waste any of my minutes on this creep so i just hung up on it. i just found this website thing to find out what the hell it was, so thanks for all these comments i got to read :) they help a lot.

Answered the phone and the call was for my son.  After pressing 1, a man cam one claiming that the call is regarding a Capital One card and non-payment.  Only my son doesn't have a Capital One card.  They guy did have my son's birthday though...probably a phishing scheme.

Just say press 1 if you want to stop these calls.  Press 1 and just goes on hold

I get a call once a day and have been getting the callfor over six weeks.  Don't know who or what it is. I treat it with a scumbag call that has nothing better to do or someone that is trying to prostatute his wife

This 905-413-8749 (Caller ID Unionville, Ontario) has called here three times today.  The female voice states that this is call about a stimulus payment and for me to speak to one of the representatives standing by by pushing any number.  I am afraid to push a number for it might add a charge of something to my phone bill.  Any ideas?

I keep getting phone calls from this number in Ontario also (905-413-8749).
