I'm in the Chatham-Kent region ( SW Ontario) and they are calling my cell looking for my common law husband. Told him last yr not to donate to them, the center I work in deals alot with the US. And all the employees here have also been getting these calls.

I just came in from work, and found this number on my call display, no message, just like the rest have all said. I do hope they call back, because since I know what they are up to, I will turn it around, and see if THEY will send ME some money!  I am up in Fort Frances, Ontario, way up at the end of highway 11(Yonge St.) So it looks like the whole province is being targetted.

I used to just ignore.
Then I started picking up the phone, then hanging up. 10 seconds later they would call again, after 4 rings it stops.
Now I pick up, and just listen to silence, then they hang up after about 15 seconds.
Now I need a horn.
Last year I donated twice to the ONTARIO POLICE ASSOCIATION. Don't know the guys name, but he also calls on behalf of the Fire Dept charity as well as a few more.

Stop hiding everytime the phone rings, and just pick up and tell them to take you off the list.

When they called, they said "the money will go to build better jails with better food" .. VERY pushy people who call... "$15 is the lowest I can go" But if you get angry with them, they will apologize and hang up.
I called phone busters about this. The Police Association of Ontario outsources to a call centre in the states to raise funds. It IS a legitimate charity, however I was told only a small portion of your donation goes to the charity, the rest goes to pay the employees at this call centre.

im from port colborne and this # has called on numerous occasions up until 9pm in the evening they never leave a message either, since i got net phone these solistors have been bombarding me, and i never even added my name to the do not call list because it doesnt work anyway. Once u put your name on that list and numbers to do not call that list can then be picked up by out of country parties who in turn use it as a call list and our government cannot stop it because it has no regulations beyond canada in that regards,also if u do happen to talk to someone from these odd numbers that call ( scammers , Solictors ) and ask them to put u on thier do not call list,it works but they start calling u for same thing from different numbers to get around it...how do we stop all this nonscence period im getting really tired of daily calls from all around the world from these idjits

Just today the calls have once again started. 9 am and every 45 min since. It's in the Essex County area too. If I ever decide to answer I'm going to have a few words for them.

keep getting the call, message claims to be a lawyers office.  no name of the law office or name to call back, just says to get in touch with the assistant

now that i'm reading all the posts and re-checked the # about 5 times to make sure it i didn't screw them up.  my message that the leave is from a lawyer(supposedly)  but from what i'm reading in the posts. it seems to be from a police association.  now i'm really confused.

I just got a call and he kept on harrasing me till i hung up, then he called back like 5 times.

After weeks of trying to speak with someone at this number, I finally spoke with a very rude individual who was soliciting for the Toronto Police Association.  I had informed him that his company is breaking numerous rules that apply to the Do Not Call legislation and that we do not want anymore calls.  I then asked him for the name and mailing address of his company's president, which he refused to do.  I advised him that I have already made a complaint against them with the CRTC and that I know what my rights as a consumer are.  He provided me with an 800 number to call for more information.  I called he number provided (1-800-432-9411) and got the following information:

This telemarketing company was hired by the Toronto Police Association.  Their contact info is as follows:

I just tried to call that 800 number and it did not work.  Email this person and say you are going to call your local police department on grouds of harassment. information@tpa.ca

I am fed up with this telemarketer. I receive 3 to 4 calls daily and a
message has never been left

I have answered this caller and asked that he remove me off the list.  It was the Police A**.  They still call daily....so tired of it.  I am registered on the do not call list, but still get these people calling daily.

Yup these idiots are Nazis. These freaks call me at least 3 times a day sometimes more. They are relentless and won't stop. Wouldn't you want to send a disadvantaged kid to camp with a cop? LOL. Cops who use a nefarious telemarketing scam which only 10 % of money collected ever gets to them and the kids, and the rest goes to the Jersey Mob. LOL.

To combat this, I just signed up for Rogers Home and Away Service, has a great web feature that lets you do Selective Call Blocking. Now the calls go directly to voicemail and I can delete the messages, which there never are any, straight from the web as well. Best thing Rogers has done in a while.

In order not to be bothered answering these annoying calls, I programmed my Digital Answering Machine like this, first, I stored all of these annoying calls into my phonebook and then, I programmed them with a specific ringtone - which is "RING OFF".  So the next time they call, you will not hear any rings, you will only hear the recorded messages.

They keep calling .. not sure who they are.. what i do if i am home to answer it .. is answe it .. dont say anything and leave the phone until the hang up... do that a bunch of times because they will still keep calling.  once you answer the phone it costs them. Wish they would stop calling. Dang people.
