This caller also speaks with a fake English accent..... Very fake and while he is speaking, his accent disappears after a while.

I have to answer these calls as my dog will howl if the phone rings more than twice...I pick up the phone, press speaker and let them listen to the children and pet chaos in the house..the caller never identifies themself. ..eventually give up!...but still a nuisance !

I get daily calls from 905-499-2606. Is there a way to shut this company down !

this number calls at least 1 x daily no id , calls not identified do not get answered . If it is  the Arthritis Society calling I would advise them to identify with the number they may have more success rather than have people annoyed.

These guys are phoning again. The Arthritis Society. Yep, that's likely. Will I donate again? Not without giving them an earful first. I'll be speaking with a frontline person who has zero authority, but ranting may make my joints feel a bit better.

Yup. they keep calling me, but never leave a message. The Arthritis Society: now that makes sense. Believe it or not, we do donate to them occasionally. We just don't want to be doing it every week. A lot of organizations turn their phone solicitation over to private companies who get a big piece of action. So the person you speak with is probably not an arthritis sufferer who  wants to volunteer their time to help the organization. It's probably some schmuck who wants to work at home by phoning blocks of numbers to solicit donations. that puts a damper on your generosity, for sure.

Caller does not mention "Canadian Arthritis Society", or "Arthritis Society", but they do mention arthritis Donations and how to help out with a $25 donation.

The lady who phoned at 9;30 AM Eastern time claimed to be from an Arthritis Benevolent group, but it is a SCAM Org, and Not related to Evergreen of Winnipeg. So the information for evergreen Vision communications is sort of correct, but that was not who it was who was calling. I spoke directly with a Jonathan Garwood, who does do social marketing stuff, but this is a SCAM call, or so he claims.

Following up with RCMP tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

The marketing company is called Evergreen Vision Communications, 208 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB  R3C 0M4, (204)283-7117. Jonathan Garwood is one of the principals according to the website manta.com.

It is apparent that they are a social PHISH telemarketing org, who specializes in calling to Area codes that have a high proportion of senior donors, and they know that as a front for a charitable organization, there is an exemption for the Do-Not-Call list, and the Telemarketing Rules.

However, since they are now known, it is difficult, from my part to trust anything that is said, because they dial from third party long distance providers that do not pass along the company name on Caller-ID. Since they  obviously don't want it known who is bugging you, I would suggest looking up their chain of command and let the 'Arthritis Society' know your displeasure.

I am not too impressed with getting a phone call at 9:30 in the morning,asking for donations to ANY organization that hides behin the name "Unknown Name" on caller ID.

get this nbr quite often. Someone said if you pick up and hit # key 5-6 times it removes you from their list, did this before and never rec'd any calls for quite awhile.

Please please please take our number off of this caller's list.  Please please please and thank you.

thanks for the advice, i have been letting them go to voice mail   i just decided to google the number to see what the heck was going on.....little did i know that i am certainly not alone in this one.  thanks again and i will practice patience, hope it works  lol  enjoy the day!

Strange behaviour for a legitimate charity.  I answered and they asked to speak to me, by name.  When I asked who they were calling for, they hung up.

Let the calls go through to an answering machine (eventhough no message is ever left). It won't stop them from calling, but at least you won't have to talk to them. I receive numerous phone calls from many different numbers and locations and I never answer. It is very annoying, but answering and asking them to stop is pointless as they continue calling anyway (I have tried that approach; it doesn't work). Good luck.

While a charity doesn't have to follow the DNC, the fact that this number has called at least two dozen times over the last month, at different hours, and different days, is still annoying and unacceptable.

I haven't answered the phone once, nor will I.  One would assume that they'd eventually stop calling, but this does not seem to be the case.

Just a remembered registered charities do not have to follow DNC, however you can ask them not to call. But they are not committing a crime by calling.

However they are usually polite, unlike those duct cleaning companies (which should be following the DNC).

Apparently endless ability to call my number. I always screen calls, so I don't answer and they never leave a message. Extremely annoying, especially when you've registered with the DNC service.

Calls multiple times per day, at different times of the day, never leaves a message.  This garbage needs to stop.

905 499 2606 There should be a way we can stop unwanted phone calls. We pay for this service. Maybe they should be charged for each call they make. How you ask. Beats me, but I am sure there is a way.

Please do not call again as I do not wish to make any donations.  I get so many calls from different organizations wanting donations and I am getting tired of receiving these calls.
