I got a call from PBC Discounts stating that I won 1 of a possible 5 prizes but I had to go to 6195 Highway 7, Unit 6 in Woodbridge, Ontario on a Saturday pick it up.  They said I had put my name in a ballot (but I couldn't understand where they said I filled out the ballot).  I said I wasn't available on Saturday.  They called Monday wanting me to come on Tuesday.  I said I wasn't available then, either.  They called on Tuesday and said I could come Wednesday and I said I was available and took my information.  They were more upset that I wasn't married or engaged to be married or even dating.  They then connected me to the manager and she asked if I knew what I had to do to get one of the guaranteed prizes.  I said no, and she said I had to sit through a 90-minute presentation.  I immediately said I'm not sitting through a 90-minute presentation for some real estate scam.  She said it had nothing to do with real estate.  I said I wasn't coming and to delete me from the guest list.

I also recently got several calls from 1 (647) 855-3650, 1 (905) 264-2890 and 1 (647) 702-7032 telling me the same thing abt being the final contestant for winning prizes which include Florida vacation, $1500 cash, tv etc.  they claimed I had filled out a ballot in 2011! And when I asked why they took so long to inform, they told me some crap abt at the back of the ballot it said draw wouldn't be until Dec 2012. They then proceed to tell me that they are having a complimentary buffet for two at that same address listed above at hwy7 and keep questioning who will I bring, if I'm single or married and what if my income is over $40,000 or $50,000.. I asked them what all this information gOt to do with me getting a prize and of course they gave me crappy response like they need the additional name for reservation and also if I'm making that amt try need to know if I can travel if I win the trip.  All these responses doesn't make no sense cuz if I win a prize it shouldn't matter to u what I do with it. I make them believe I'll be coming to their buffet tomorrow but this is definitely suspicious and based on all these feedback, I will definitely NOT be wasting my time going anywhere! Seemed to be just another undercover marketing strategy or SCAM!!

These folks called me today and their number came up as unlisted! lol obviously they are catching on to social media and adjusting some of their tactics as they read blogs such as this one!! They also told me that I wasn't allowed to bring my child and how come I didn't have someone to come along with me. When I told them my income level they were like we'll call you back tomorrow to confirm your winning ticket voucher! Thank you all above for your input as the testimonials they have on their website are completely different then what I've learned here! Jokers..............

Event Reminder
I have received a call from PBC Discounts, for the 3rd time.   I have asked repeatedly to have my name and number removed from their list, but they keep calling.  I confirmed the address etc. matches that of my search.   This is a scam and a word or warning to everyone ever filling out a ballot for anything, not to do it.  We were at the Toronto Sportsman Show and this is how they got our information.  Whoever is selling our contact information should be shut down!

Just got the same phone call, and after his schpeel, he gets really pissed off when you say you never filled anything out, and when I asked what I have to do to get my ``prize``, he said `did I say you have to sit through a boring presentation``.  His guy was a piece of work.

I got a call from this phone number: (905) 754-5163 by some guy named Alex with a heavy east Indian accent, claiming to be some sort of a senior manager. He said that I won a prize because I filled out a ballot (which I never did), some time ago. I told him, "Whatever it is you are selling, I'm not interested." He said that he is not selling anything and he just want me to pick up anyone of the 5 prizes which will be drawn, after attending a 60 to 90 minute presentation, to be held at: 6175 Hwy 7, unit 6 Vaughan, ON. He said that I am not obligated to buy anything.
To cut the story short, my wife and I went there. The representatives were very persistent and they push you to become a member which cost around $11,000 and there is a renewal fee of one hundred plus some dollars (if I remember correctly) every year. In my opinion, you can sometimes get really good deals (i.e. vacation, cruise, appliances, electronics, furnitures, etc.) on your own. I think that this is just another BIG SCAM and a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. They are looking for SUCKERS!

Premium Buyers Club (or Ontario International), 6175 Hwy 7 #6, Woodbridge, ON (not a "Timeshare", its a "Lifestyle Club") - we went to their "reception" after obtaining the prize code for filling out a ballet (yeah right!).  Made the appointment, had no intention of buying anything. Thought "what the heck, the least we will get is a 3 day/2 night getaway".  Was specifically told it would take no longer than 60-90 minutes, we were there for over 2 HOURS before finally drawing for the prize, which was the 3 day/2 night getaway at 21 different north american locations.  After getting the detailed prize information, which is through Odenza Marketing, you need to pay a refundable (??) deposit of $100 US, doesn't seem to be any guarantees of where/when you will be able to travel (except the first night is Sunday - Wednesday).  Searching Odenza Marketing through google leads me to many red flags. All seems kind of hokey to me!  The certificate will be shredded.  Was a complete waste of my time.
It appears that the Premium Buyers Club may be able to save you money if you regularly travel 2-3 times a year on exotic vacations. Cost $8999 + fees, taxes, was over $11000 total for a 10 year term.  Most of their other associations with companies can be obtained elsewhere through coupons, searching for deals on-line or negotiations without paying their club fee (reduced furniture, restaurants, home renovations, hotels - anyone heard of priceline.com?)
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.  This is a scam, lots of high pressure sales tactics.  I won't be reeled in again!
Note:  While getting antsy after the intial 90 minutes, I stood at the table because I simply could not sit on the chair any longer.  The agent told me we weren't allowed to stand in that room!  ha ha, what a crock - by that time, I just needed to get out of there!

Just received a call from these people - sounded very suspicious (and was also very inaudible) and I couldn't hear the name (even though I asked twice) but listened enough to get more information. I didn't recall entering any form, so I was extremely skeptical, but wanted to see where this was leading .After hearing the prizes, I was then forwarded to the 'Supervising Manager', who was just as hard to understand to as the first guy. After listening to the 'Manager' for a couple of minutes and him trying to press me to commit for a time to come in, I told him that I would have to call him back. He then asked if I was still interested - I said no, and he the said 'Why are you wasting my #@$@#$ time?!'

Which was funny, considering that they were saying that they were giving away these prizes for goodwill and to build a client base :) I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who called us a year or so ago with the same sort of scam. I think he just changes his number every once and awhile. The only thing different this time is that he managed to replicate the 'call center' sound in the background.

I got a call from 905-552-2511 and the guy started telling me that I filled out a ballot on Apr. 7 and that I won a prize. asked me to take a pen and paper and write down the information of how to claim it. Since I NEVER fill out 'ballots' or anything where I can 'win' a prize I knew it was bullllllshitt. I said that I haven't filled out any ballots and that I'm not interested - the reply 'Well, it must be someone in your family who filled it out'. I further questioned (yeah, I spent about 20 minutes on the call - had time to burn and didn't just hang up) where he got my name and what else is written on the 'ballot'. The reply was that 'you are two people between the ages of 27 and 65 and the total income is more then $60000' (so now you know what 'criteria' they are looking for) That's funny - I'm single; so who is that other person on the ballot that wants to share in MY prize? I kept repeating that I'm not interested in the prize and every time he wanted to know why I'm not interested. I suggested to him that since I'm not interested that he can give this prize to someone else - he insisted that it is my prize. So after 20 minutes of this he finished the conversation with 'F___ off' which I expected he would. I started laughing and hope that he didn't hang up to soon and heard it.

I did not get a call from 9055522514.  My second call came from 9052547286.  As the man was reading his script, I said to him that they had called before and I am not interested because i was told to pick up the prize at a certain time WITHOUT MY KIDS.  He proceeded to ask me if I cannot get a baby sitter.  I said to him, if I am just coming to pick up a prize and go, why can't I take my kids along.  Of course they have some quick come backs.  So I just hung up on him.  Then I decided to try calling the number back to hear what the name of the company was and guess what, I got a recording that said the number is no longer in service............haha.  What a joke.  Then I decided to do some research online and found this site.  Thank you.  I will not bother to waste my time.

After being awake until 5:00 am with a sick child, my phone rang at 8:30 am this morning.  I was greeted by a guy with an extremely thick East Indian accent.  I couldn't understand his name but he said he was a 'verification manager' with Ontario International.  I said, "Thank you, but I'm not interested."  He quickly responded that he was not selling anything and that I had completed a prize ballot at a shopping mall during Christmas and he was calling to offer/verify my prize.  I said that I had 'absolutely not completed any ballot' (my exact words) and...before I could respond any further, he said...(and these are his exact words - edited in order to post)..."F___ off, son of a b____!" AND...hung up on me!

This is not the first call I've received from this company and I sick of it!  I will be reporting this call and the use of profanity to the police and the BBB.
