I just got a call from 905-581-0086.
A man asks for me by name.  I asked for his name and number.  Man said he is calling from Fresh Air Home Service.

They were offering Bell Services before.  Now they are offering duct cleaning.  Biggest scammer ever!

Telemarketing Fraud. Watch out for scams aimed at getting your personal information and your money.

There have been recent reports of telemarketing “operators” using Bell’s name in order to sell fake rate plans to consumers in an attempt to obtain their personal information, such as their credit card information or social insurance number for fraud purposes.  Bell is taking this issue seriously and working with the appropriate authorities in order to help track down the people or organizations that may be involved in these activities.

Unfortunately, these recent incidents are part of a growing trend. Scams artists from everywhere are now engaging in all types of activities, such as “phishing”, posting phoney web sites or operating phone scams, while using the brands of trusted companies like Bell to capture bank account information, credit card numbers and other critical information from unsuspecting consumers.

Education is your best protection.

Consumers everywhere are strongly encouraged to beware of prize scams and suspiciously generous offers on behalf of any company.  The main signs to look out for are: aggressive marketing tactics, pressure to “act now” (note: very short offer expiry dates reduce the risk of being traced by authorities), instructions to pay administrative fees or additional fees for the delivery of a prize or product, etc.

Do not respond to unsolicited requests for your personal information over the phone or by Internet. No legitimate company, including Bell, would ever call or e-mail their customers requesting information such as passwords, bank account information or a credit card number, unless they were responding to a customer inquiry. If you suspect that you are being contacted by a fake telemarketer, feel free to end the call and contact the business or organization through its regular channels, for example, 310-Bell.

If you’ve receive a suspicious offer from callers claiming to represent Bell and are concerned about having shared personal information with a scam operator, please contact 310-Bell immediately with as much information as possible about the exact date and time of the call.

If you suspect you’ve been a target of fraud, you should also contact PhoneBusters, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Call Centre, at  1-888-495-8501 or phonebusters.com.

I am receiving annoying phone calls from 1-905-581-0086, and would like it to stop.  How are these people getting our phone numbers??????

i live in wasaga beach. I get calls at least twice a day from these people. no one talks,they just hang up...grrr

Guy wanted to stick to his scrip  and would not give me "the offer" when I asked for it - I have no time ot waste on telemarketing sales processes. Caller said he was calling from Bell Canada, and when challenged as to why he was asking me if I had a Bell phone if he was calling from Bell (they would know, right?), he told me that he merely "represented" Bell.  Hung up on me soon afterwards.

Bell itself was not very sympathetic when I called right afterwards. Rep said all Bell employees would be able to provide an employee number and gave me the formats (what would stop someone from rattling off some random numbrs as the employee number to further con me?). Asides from that, they would not look at my phone mumber and determine which number called me (*I* had to do *69 afterwards to get it - not cool Bell), so I cannot feel like Bell is really worried about someone calling their clients and pretending to be them for some nasty purpose....

BTW, another site had someone do the research and show that they called from some place in Pakistan even though they insist it was from Windor. Part of the script / scam.  I plan to have some fun next time they call and ask them an "impossible" questions about Windor (how about their recent outbreak of Dutch Puck Disease?) ... just to see what kind of answers I can get out of them before I hang up on them... :-)

Got calls from this # think it something to do with either a water testing scam or private investigator any ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep gettin calls from this same number but i can hear someone breathing on the other end.. 19055810086 and when i try to call back blocked id.. it says.. voicemail box is full and cannot receive messages at this time

I just got a call from this number. they said they are calling from bell canada offering special discounts.  He asked which services I have with bell, so i said "arent you calling from bell?"  and he hung up.

I've gotten a couple of calls from these guys, but haven't answered because of the strange caller-ID.  You can block these numbers (ones that slip past a do-not-call order, apparently) by dialling #60.  If they've just phoned, all you have to do after you've activated Call Block is dial 01#.  Otherwise, you have to punch in the number, then hit # again.  I've used this service LOTS of times to block telemarketers, and it seems to work very well.

ya me too they told me the n is not from bell they asked me the same hat questions i told my boyfriend that its good that time  i dirrente answer the first time they called because i had a bad felling that its not bell and today i founde out its not dont answer from now on they think wee must be stupid or sommething

Thinking of leaving Bell... think the calls will stop... Nope, they won't. After leaving Bell Canada I kept getting calls from Bell reps. I went so far as to complain to Vice president of sales through a form at Bell. The next day they called up. They were shocked at the abuse of calls... both the number of calls and how they were conducted. I was put on their "do not call list" and was told within thirty days it would be propogated throughout all Bell offices. A month later... a year later... Still getting those calls.

Who is this? They keep calling me. I can't find any information on this number.

Blocked my number & called back & after about 15 rings, the voicemail picked up. Left a voicemail telling them to not call me again, did not leave my name or number. A reverse phone lookup brought nothing & googling the number brought me this which was really helpful so, thanks! If they call back, which, reading these comments it looks like a strong possibility but I'll lock the number

You have to contact your telephone service provider and ask them to block your number and the caller. At this point if your phone provider cannot do anything for you you file a complaint with the CCTS. I've tried calling the company listed as having the phone number and they are of no use. They tell you they have lent out the number to a company whose information they cannot give you. In my opinion they do not want to appear responsible for the inconvenience this number brings and yet they seem more incompetent they anything. So that is the process. Cogeco was more than gracious in helping me to block the caller.

I just found out that this is long distance. So be weary and don't call the # back on your cell or you may incur international charges.

i recently changed phone companies. I was with Bell and now since I am not a Bell customer I am still receiving calls from this number. I tried contacting the CRTC and they did not get back to me. I also tried calling Bell and they also did not return any of my calls. So now whenever I get a call from this number I threaten them with very vulgar language and I bought an air horn and blast it into the phone. Hopefully that will deter them.

I just had a call from 1  905 581 0086 and I want them stopped.  Our governments and phone companies etc should stop this nuisance.   Maybe they are friends with these companies.  They are not doing the job we pay them for if they do not stop these annoyances,  waste of all our  time.

905 581 - xxxx are RingCentral numbers - the company provides local numbers for clients anywhere in the world.  I'm guessing that people are choosing the free 30 day trial with this number - then cancelling as soon as their scam is over.
