This is Ivan Smith from Sydney Australia. This techbuddha guys are based in Kolkata India as I happened to be friend a caller who called me . he gave all his contact details in India with addresses. The base company is set to be registered in Australia though. The website is all crap and they get it re-designed to fool people . This is one of the best ways to scam an indivual and take away all his personal information as credit card details and the authorization number. Please be aware of these type of scammers who rob your personal details and later use the same information to swipe your card again and again. Please check this link http://diversifiedtechnologiesindia.com/about_us.php, this is where they are calling from .

I have had dealings with these thieves in the past. They rang my house in Wellington New Zealand and got me when I was sick. I was scammed!!

Yesterday though, 5 April 2012, they rang my parents where I happened to be visiting. (Foxton New Zealand). My Mum didn't know about them but I did so spoke to them.

They reckoned they had an office in Wellington NZ. I told him to go back to India on the 1st plane and not to ring back again. They are total scammers and I have reported them to the police but dont know what they would actually do about it.

There are too many of these sort of people around unfortunately.

UNLESS IT IS YOUR OWN INTERNET PROVIDER, EG. TELECOM, COMPASS, SLINGSHOT ETC. IN OTHER WORDS = THE ONE YOU PAY EVERY MONTH...... DO NOT LET THEM INTO YOUR COMPUTER.....SCAMMERS!!!!

That was a good idea to change your passwords from another computer. I would also contact the bank, to see if there is anything else you can do.

I received a call from these guys and like you, i thought i would let him have his say. I feel stupid now because i let him get as far as to gain access to my computer- he was able to move my mouse and type etc. He downloaded an anti-virus program and then wanted me to pay $300 for it, which i refused. He said he would send me an applicatrion form to filll out, which i also refused and eventually hung up.
I am wondering now what i should do to pprotect my secrity- and how much access he could have gained?
I changed my bank account passwords, on another computer but do not know if this is enough?
Any information wouyld be helpful- thanks

I received a call on friday from 02030122786 claiming that i had viruses on my computer. I told him it had just been repaired and was in full working order (which is the truth) but he banged on about viruses and that my current antivirus, spyware and security was not as good as they were offering. They wanted £259.00 for a free app! When i said i couldn`t afford that it was reduced to £230.00, saying i still couldn`t afford he brought it down to £120.00 and then £75.00. When i told them i had someone at my door and i had to go, i hung up and they rang back twice. I pay insurance for my computer and technical support. They have received numerous calls about this scam and for varying amounts of money. Something has to be done to stop these scammers!

I received three of these calls in the past month. The first two times I could hardly understand what the individual was telling me so I hung up. The second time the line was cut off. In the past two days we have received a number of calls which they hung up when we answered.
I got another call the afternoon and a call that he said would last 5 minutes lasted over 20 minutes and he advised me that it lasted longer because of the numerous questions I was aking.
He showed me all the errors and warnings in my computer telling me that it was infected and should have lost a lot of speed and performance and was omewhat put off when I told him that I had not noticed any problems lately.
He brought me to their website which does look real but when he asked me to go to their support system, that a professional would take over control of my computer, I told him I no longer had the time and was going to call him later. he got very agitated but I now have his name(if it's the right one) his company # and of course the tel. # 905-667-5558.

Now that I know I will report it to phone busters tomorrow.

I received a call from these guys a month ago.  My wife just received one tonight. They don't take no for an answer.  My wife strung them along for about 15 minutes.  Kept him from calling anyone else for a little while anyways.  These guys really come prepared, phone numbers and website. They advertise on youtube.  Make it look really official. I like the air horn idea.  Might have to bring one back from work. Haha!

Jason here again. I thought maybe this company was not the responsable ones and it was someone else just using their service. I rang the company to advise them what had happened and the lady was a real t**t. She said well sir if you do not want the tech to remote into your PC you need to get their names and phone numbers. I said does your company tell their names when you call? And she said oh, oh im not sure. You should talk with our techs they are really helpful.
So it seems like it is this company. Dodgy as.

Hello Jason here from Australia.
These people were calling me everyday but I kept on saying that I am not 18 and I dont have a PC and they then hang up. They called and spoke to my mother one day and she said I will just write all this down and ask my son and they hung up on her lol.
So anyways I had another phone call from some Indian just today and I thought I will let him have his say and he sent me to this website aswell. I am a computer technician. I just let him think he had me lol..
They sent me into the Event Viewer on my PC and got me to look at the errors and told me that they are all worms and viruses. The guy said I will pass you to our advanced technician to help you and they didnt transfer the call.. they just passed the phone to the other guy lol. Then the "Advanced Tech" said he needs to put a stop to it from the domain.. I got up to the part where they want to remote into your PC and I said I dont need this, the guy said "its not a matter of need sir, you have to get rid of these viruses and we will help". I said well I am actually a computer technician and I know exactly what the error logs are and what you are trying to do and he shat himself and started stumbling on his words and rustled the phone around a bit and then hung up LOL.

I hope people stay alert from these scammers

They called me last night and said they looked in my computer and that it was infected. I replied "amazing, and what operating system was my system running when you looked in it?"

He replied. "Windows and it is infected. We looked in it."

I replied "so my Mac is running windows? Didn't do a very good job looking around did you?"

Then I hung up.

Ya I did the "be nice" thing and tried to get info like, who hired "Tech Budha" to look after my devices on the internet.  Since they try to convince you that "they want to advise you of a widespread "Windows" problem, I also asked if he was also going to call everyone on the planet running Windows LOL

Then I looked at their spiffy website, and contact info where nobody answers the phone.

This has scam all over it and its sad that some people will believe their computers are generating tens of thousands of errors.   LOL, and if it was, do ya not think Windows would let us know?

Now I in no uncertain terms just tell them to F$%& right off.

Yes, definitely a fraud, however I'm afraid "the authorities" can't do much except get the phone number disconnected. Then they will start using a different phone number. These people are committing fraud outside the country and no court in Canada will prosecute them. What is a local police sevice going to do - send officers to Inda to arrest a sweat-shop full of people earning $5 per week and bring them to Canada and prosecute them? Even if the ring-leaders can be identified they will not be prosecuted here or in India (or whatever country, it's not just India). And it's not just one set of fraudsters. There are many of these rings operating.

I got a call from this number. "Mark Goodson" with a heavy Indian accent spoke with me and fed me a load of trash about the company. Instead of snapping on the guy, I was nice to him so I could get as much info as possible from him.  He directed me to techbuddha.com which I will not even visit.  The number he gave was 905 667 5558. Don't give these guys anything.  I hope the authorities are on this case.  It disturbs me that someone would be stunned enough to provide these people with anything other than a "No" or "leave me the bleep alone!"
Good luck.
