There is no Chestnut marketing in Victoria. There is Provindence Inc either. Nor is there a Morey Marketing. This is a scam. Victoria B.C. is in Canada. Stop calling them, stop sending them money, you are only going to get ripped off.

For anyone who gets this....go into your bank! Talk to the manager! Mine said it was a complete scam but did say I should send the check and letter to the Attorney General's office - and I will!

By the way, the bank manager said this was a common way to get people's identities, etc. Don't fall for it!

i am calling the federal trade commission to check out this check. i didn't get a phone call. i got a letter and a check for $994.86 . the phone  # they gave me to cal is 905 598-5936. when you call you get a recording stating all lines are busy try back later.

I received the same thing, and called the bank.  They are aware of this, but the BBB is not.  I will be notifying them.  This is such a shame.  How do they get the information.  We sign up for the Consumer Rewards Programs, and our information is obviously shared.  I will no longer be participating in anything like that again.

I  myself recieved a letter & a check. I tried to call the number but didn't get an answer,the first redflag they didn't have an answering machine. So i faxed a letter to Regina Hayes the claims agent & the fax number was out of service! I guess they have more than one number the one in my letter is 905-598-5936

I got a letter yesterday and it absolutely is fraud. Dont cash the check. I called my local police dept and I was referred to the Federal Trade Commission. My advice, call them as well to report. The number is 1-877-382-4357.

i called the bank in tulepo ms and this a fraud.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

I Recived one of those last year and I belive it was from the same chestnut marketing group  or something like it and there were out of victoria bc. It said I had won some kind of lottery or something and the check was for like 10k and I could get the rest of the money by doing something. I don;t remember if it was the same phone number or not but I didn;t call because i pretty much new it was a scam because I get those type of scams often. I took it to my bank and they confirmed it was a scam and I just let them deal with it. You have to be very carful about things like that always check them out and never give out any of your information.

I also received a letter from the chestnut marketing group from victoria bc.  I am trying to figure out if this is a real sweepstake or if it is a fraud.  I have researched thet chestnut marketing group and can not find their address in the phone book.  But I have researched the bank the check is from and it is a real bank from tolepa, ms.  I used the routing number and found the banks number and tomorrow I am planning on calling to see if the check is real or not.  I have also called the number on the letter they sent and so far they have not asked for any personal info but don't like the fact they would not give the tax agent info now instead of after I deposit the check. I am thinking it is fraud which is too bad because we could have used the money.  Good luck to everyone else.

I also got a check from Chestnut Marketing Group with the phone # 905-781-4354 it was for $994.86 and said I could claim the rest of $9,700.00 by contacting them asap,but they want me to fax a reciept of the taxes paid on this so called winnings.My opinion is this is a scam to get you ss # and other vital information so they can clean out your bank accounts and steal your idenity.
