I wouldn't cash that check unless you are willing to risk returned check fees and possibly worse consequences. Contact the bank the check is drawn on and I would bet you 100:1 that the check is fake. If you really want to try and get him, take the check to your bank along with all the information you have on him including any instructions that came with the check and the envelope it came in to your bank. Tell them you think the check is a fake and would like them to investigate and turn everything over to the proper authorities for further action.

Knowing how Craigslist is, I contacted Feed the Children directly to verify the validity of the job request. Imagine my surprise when they said they never heard of him, or any of the other names he goes by. NOT!!!!!! Tried calling the number listed but got voice mail of someone who is OBVIOUSLY NOT AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, took it upon myself to report him to the FBI, nice to have friends in high places. Directed them to these postings so they could check out that email chat listed above.

Definitely a scam. I replied to a bunch of craigslist postings today, and FIVE of them turned out to be this guy, using randymore12@outlook.com and the same message as the first one posted on this page. If anyone can get enough info on this guy, turn him in to the authorities. The economy and job markets are bad enough without lowlifes like this trying to scam people who are down on their luck and looking for honest work.
