Consider this logic.  They are going to (a) garnish your wages and (b) make sure you lose your job.

What are they going to garnish if you don't have a job?

I just received a call from an individual claiming to be Gary Walker with a foreign accent. Over a month a go I got threatening phone calls from a foreign gentleman claiming to be an attorney for Harrison Law firm with the name of John Peterson, Alex Wheeler, and several different alias. This gentleman by the name of John Peterson harrassed me at work, threatened my job and told me that the case was going to court that next week and that they were going to garnish my wages and make sure I lost my job. My administration where I work is aware of the phone calls as this individual has continously harrassed the receptionist where I work. The numbers all have been unlisted and if this was a repitable company I would have been allowed to have the name and number of the business. I spoke with an attorney and in order to file harrasment charges I needed a name and address and when I asked this individual for the name and address of the business he would not give me the information. he refused to allow me to pay by money order (although i do not owe them any money for a payday loan on line as I have never taken one out over the internet) he refused and told me they need my name, ssn, and debit/credit card number faxed to a number. I refused and then he gave me a routing number and checking account number to a bank. the number they gave me was based out of california, the fax was based out of washington and the bank account was out of new york. I am by far not a private investigator but this gentleman has messed with the wrong person. i have filed a police report with my local agency, i went to the local check cashing places and received information to call a 800 number to report payday loan fraud. I have called the better business bureau in my local area and I will not stop if they continue. My suggestion to all individuals who get a call from someone ASK QUESTION? Such as when the loan was taken out? who the original creditor was? what a phone number and address of the original creditor is? what is the name, number and address of the individual who is contacting you is? A creditor has to provide you with certain information and give you time to respond. No creditor has the right to harrass, threaten, use force to collect. If suspect you have been the victim of fraud NOTIFY YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY.

These people are just a scam DO NOT give them any information. They claim to be a law firm but only scamers from India. Beware of them. Legally they cannot do anything to you.

It is the 2nd time I have gotten a call like this, they used a different # last time, but when I googled the other # I got the same type of messages. I am going to try that red flag on my credit report. There are channels they have to go through LEGALLY!!! I just don't answer and I report them.

Yes, I have a payday loan. I have payed back my loan. The person on the other end of this number just wants your personal infromation so that person can take your money anytime they want to and leave you with nothing...........................

For one, they can only take you to court and get a judgement ordered against you for it to get taken out of your payroll.. A debt collector can NOT have you arrested or file charges against you.  It is illegal for them to threaten you with legan proceeding.  I suggest that you go to your local police department and talk to them.  Also you should get a hold of transunion and see what you can do about having your credit report red flagged..this should stop anyone from being able to access your credit ratings and stop them from putting s*** on your credit report.

I too received a call from the same guy is very professional I checked with my bank and figured out that my bank had blocked my checking account and the money was not paid. I appreciate the work they are doing and helped me save a lot of money by avoiding to go to the court. I was out of job since six months and was difficult to pay my bills. But now I am good to go so I think Johnny you should think twice before you get into trouble

I recently received a phone call from this number, the person (who is very polite and professional) called me claimed he is a senior officer of the American Credit Services and threaten legal actions towards me and launch an investigation which requires to freeze my social security, if I didn't pay a payday loan. The senior officers name is Ted Miller. According to my cell phone the phone number is from Ontario, Canada. It is true i did take up a payday loan but it was a very long time ago and I am not sure if I had paid it off completely or not. Can anyone whose profession that deals with credit and credit related legal issues help me. I am currently unemployed doping odd jobs to support my sickly mother and pay the bills. The last thing I need is this nipping at my heels
