Now that they know that their phone number is popping up on the internet, they will be posing as people saying that this is legit.  Don't believe them.  They are people that work for the scam artists.

I received a voicemail from an Ebony Green from National check Recovery stating I was implicated in a check fraud case and she provided a claim# and the phone number to call back to which was 773-809-8238. When I called back the young lady sounded like she was half asleep. I provide my name and claim# and she asked me to hold so she could transfer me to the lead investigator.  Linda Taylor came on the line speaking about a payday loan default.  I had one from online years ago but they were paid in full. She provided my entire SS#, my old address and the old name where I work.  She told me a letter had been mailed to me numerous times. I never received anything.  I asked for information to be sent to me and I asked for their address which she would not provide.  She told me if $500 was not paid, there would be a warrant issued and I would have to pay $4500 in fees. She said she was calling on behalf of DRJ GROUP/ FTR Processing. I called the BBB and the Federal Trade Commission, they have set up an investigation with the information I provided and told me to do nothing.  They told me Linda Taylor broke the law by telling me that I would be served a warrant and that criminal action was being filed against me. They need to stop doing this to people.  It is not right.

This number is from a SCAM so please beware. They called some family members trying to get a hold of my mother. Little did they know I handle my mothers business affairs. Well lets just say after the choice words I gave them they won't be calling again. I called them about 4 times letting them have it and as soon as I told them I was recording them they quickly hung up. They even left a name Daniel Wilson for her to get back in touch with. Some people really need to get a life and stop trying to profit off others. I guess they saw my mothers age and decided she was easy prey. SURPRISE!!!!!!!

I would have done something different right from the point they said that, by law, you needed to stop recording the phone call.  I would have said, "OK.  Then this call is terminated, because I am not willing to continue unless you permit me to record this call.  If you want to communicate with me, you will either have to do so some other way or explicitly consent to having your calls recorded."  Then I would have hung up.

I received the same call this morning from a private number. The gentleman did not leave his name and requested I return the call within 24 hurs or I would be served with papers at my home and/or work that was listed on the document. I called the number back and received a VM and the name stated was Dan Wilson. I did not leave a message, if it's important they'll return the call. I've received another call such as this about a year ago and it was a scam. I will update the post if I receive a return call

I called back this number because it came up private. I spoke to one representative and when they said they were recording this phone call I answered back, "so was I." Well, that must have scare the representative because they handed the phone to a Donald who said that they were no longer recording the phone message and by law I needed to stop. I did. He want to tell me that I owed a payday loan from a company called DRJ Group LLC. I told him that I never heard of or took out a loan from that company. He said that he has my home and work information and the paper work in front of him said I did. I asked him to send the paper work to my e-mail. I did take out and paid off two previous pay day loan and they have your electronic signature with date on file. He refused. I asked him if this company changed its name(from the previous pay day loans I paid off) to another name. He said no. I asked if I could have thier phone number to call them directly. He said thier company called Legal Services did not have their phone number but it did not matter because they purchased the loan. I asked him if they purchased the loan they must have a contact number. He dismissed that and went on to tell me that he knows I owe this loan and I probadly said this to everyone I owe! He also said he would serve me with papers at either my job or home! He added that this company is on my credit report and he was looking at it. I told him that I would check if this company is on my credit report and if it was, I would call back. Guess what. DRJ Group LLC is NOT ON MY CREDIT REPORT. I called the BBB in California and was told to go to the FTC.GOve website about this type of scam and how debt collectors are suppose to act and how they are not. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS SCAM. If they don't send proof and lie you know where they are coming from.
