Multiple calls from this number.

This number comes from Wilmington, North Carolina. I have contacted police in the Wilmington area, and have been informed that an investigation is already under way. It is amazing how long it takes law enforcement to get on to these damn scammers.
Please note: the posters on these websites that claim this, and other numbers, belong to Verizon or some other phone company are LYING!!! The scammers themselves come onto these websites and type that crap. Use some intelligence, please. If you think you actually owe money to your phone company, CALL THAT COMPANY DIRECTLY (look them up in the phone book, or go to their website)! Do NOT call back some random number that calls you.

I'd have to agree w/Wrath of Con. I do have a VZN cell phn, BUT I paid my bill in full & have a 0 bal so there is no need for any "message" from them. I wish they'd stop calling me!!!

Actually, this is from Verizon Wireless. I didn't take the call, but the other phone on the account did and it was about an "Oh-S**t" balance on my bill and it was about to be turned off. (I thought I had switched to automatic, but apparently hadn't.)
Either, they use the same "call center" that other less "acceptable" people do, or there is something screwy in the comments below.

I think Verizon "accidentally" turns off auto pay...
joseph boutin 2011-06-06 21:06:55 Unknown
when called i get message "this is a verizon messaging center" This is not an approved Verizon number for there services.
chicky 2011-06-06 21:06:55 Unknown
Its Verizon Wireless, you either owe money or something is up with your account.
Joe 2011-06-06 21:06:55 Unknown
This a legitimate collection call from Verizon Wireless. I recieve calls from this number when I am past due a month or more. I have made multiple payments with my credit card to this service and my information has not been stolen. It's actually a pretty quick process (about 60 seconds) if you have payment ready. They automatically bring up your file if you miss the call and call them back.
lady 2011-06-06 21:06:55 Unknown
It is NOT Verizon Wireless, and I just proved it. I just got the call and didn't answer (never do); I immediately checked my Verizon Wireless account and my bill was paid in full on 9/13/10, and I do NOT have an outstanding balance.
When I ge this call, my answering machine records part of an automated message to press '2' or something like that, then the call disconnects. The one time Verizon Wireless did call me about my bill, they left a very clear, full message in which they identified themselves.
Wake up people, it's scam!!!
Chris 2011-06-06 21:06:55 Unknown
If you cal back it is Verizon telling you have a message

That would be fine, except my bill is not past due-I made arrangements and paid them, as I always do if I can't pay on time. however, I did just sign a paper stating I am porting my Verizon number to Comcast because V's customer service is complete horse s***. They "installed" my new service to the person living across the street and expected me to pay for it to be a "new installation" when they finally figured out they got the wrong address. I complained then had to wait another two weeks to get my phone/internet turned on at the right address. They tried to bill me twice-once for the service to the wrong address. NOT MY PROBLEM Not Paying it.
Since then, I have to call them every month because they refuse to credit my bill for services they added that i did not authorize-over $100 worth. So, yes, i am switching to Comcast. If it is Verizon, they are probably mad because I am taking their number to another provider. Screw Verizon, they are not getting any more money from me-don't care what it does to my credit.

It would be more believable as being a legitimate phone call if it didn't come up on caller ID as being a cell phone #!

Regardless if it's a 3rd party collecting on behalf of Verizon or Verizon themselves, it's a collection call because you are late on your payment. You signed an agreement to pay your bill on time, so do it. Stop making excuses that it's a scammer or someone else that is collecting for Verizon. So what? Just pay your bill like you originally agreed to and stop making excuses. It only makes you look bad, no Verizon.
Pay your bill!
Blue 2010-08-28 20:21:59 Unknown
Yes it is VERIZON. They call whenever the bill is past due. They never left a message until today. Automated recording.

I have received multiple calls from this number at all hours of the day and night.
rcf 2010-08-21 14:28:39 Unknown
This is a 3rd party..not verizon. They get a percentage of your bill if you answer and then pay within a few days.
DO NOT ANSWER or CALL BACK
These losers can go get real jobs\
1) Verizon will ALWAYS say verizon on caller ID....No Exceptions
2) Verizon calls are NOT charged to your minutes...No Exception
pay your bill and ignore these calls

It is Verizon. My mom is the name on the account, and because they know my cell phone number, because it's listed on her plan, they call me when she doesn't answer. Someone you know must have verizon and might have used your number as a reference or anything like that. They also could have seen the numbers on a friend of yours bill and when your friend didn't pay they called you. If they want their money, they'll get it one or way or another. It's sad, it really is.
Manda 2010-08-20 13:58:03 Unknown
It is Verizon. I get calls from them ALL the time looking for my mom. I don't pay the bills, my name isn't on the statement, but they call me because the cell phone number is there and my mom doesn't pick up when they call her. We don't have a land line anymore - because we all have cellphones - so they can't bother us there. So they have to call early in the morning to harass me with computer and wake me up.

i recieved a call from the 910-338-0672 number this morning while i was at work. if mike thinks this is verizon then he is most likely the scammer. i have never had a verizon account nor do i owe them any money ive been using this phone for some time and it is not a verizon account or number. its a track phone. i dont have any bills and i get calls from idiots like mike who probably arent vets and never have the balls to become one. vets are real people and theres a good chance that mikes either a fake or some kinda scammer. i bet hes not even american
verizon customer 2010-08-12 14:50:02 Unknown
It is verizon. It is a reminder call that goes out when you are past due on your account. NOT a scammer people.

Stop calling .

You guys are ridic IT IS VERIZON. Being cautious is one thing. Paranoia is another. NO ONE is saying to pay them on the phone. Get the info, verify @ store or online...then pay. This IS Verizon
vawilly 2010-08-10 00:22:17 Unknown
I get almost daily calls from 910/338-0672, and there's never a message from them - like you guys, I'm not calling back anyone who won't leave a message. In the past, if it was from Verizon about an overdue payment, they contacted me by text message.

definite scammer! we keep getting these things on our landline - first time they've started on my cell phone. maybe they'll p****off a lawyer and we can start a class action suit...

This number IS VerizonWireless!
ER 2010-07-30 14:29:40 Unknown
No it is unmistakiably NOT Verizon, but if you are stupid enough to pay anyone who calls you on your cell phone, could you please reply with you cell number. I have been searching high and low for a easy money way to retire. LMAO. There are a lot of people out there who are very clever in trying to cheat you out of your hard earned money. Do not be a fool. Wait until you can get to your Verizon statement and call the number on your statement. Or google the Company name for the correct number.

this # keeps calling and hanging up - never leaves a message - I don't call it back because you don't know who/what it is - can be a scammer - if it's that important they will leave a message
