They were returning a quote request i sent in on Saturday. They are very high money wise so I found out they do not ship personal items....Like household items so just tell them that is what you have to ship & the calls will stop :-)

it is freightquote.  they call way too much.  however, they do have good prices and they will do some of the legwork if something isn't right.  I can't get the rates they do on my own.

I just received a call from them 5 minutes after someone purchased an item I had listed on ebay. I was surprised that the buyer could have made shipping arrangements so quickly. She asked for my name and I gave her,I think I already regret that and I hope its not gonna cause me problems in the future like spam or ID theft or something.

If you weren't interested at all why wouldn't you just tell her that instead of taking her messages maybe if that was said she wouldn't call. If you keep letting someone thing there is opportunity don't get mad when they call for it.

Got a call from this place just now and when asked to spell the last name of the person they wanted they gave me a wrong name for the actual person they wanted.  If you don't have the correct information for the person you want to speak with then you don't deserve to have my time.  Now that I have read other comments about this company I will be sure to NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM>

It is from a company called Freightquote. Super annoying with their continued phone calls but they have the best shipping rates bar none. So what are you gonna do? Just put the number in your caller ID and just don't answer and when you need them give them a call. They are the best.

I asked for a quote from this company over a year ago,  and have never done business with them.

They've been calling every morning for a couple of weeks.  They are annoying.

The only value to anyone of a broker is them connecting customers to suppliers when that wouldn't've happened. Maybe a trucker gets half and does all the work, but it is EXTRA work and EXTRA money. Maybe the customer is charged quite a bit more than he could've been, but it is apparently LESS than his usual sources or he wouldn't take offer.

What makes one worthless is when they are dishonest. Your job is quoted at a price, you accept it, then it turns out they left out a number of charges. On purpose so you'd go with their offer. Presumably the trucker then feels cheated when you refuse to pay some or all of those added charges. Or offered for a supplier anyone in the business should know couldn't do the job. All due to the broker. It doesn't matter if the broker's employees are "violating company policy" if it happens again and again because clearly it IS company policy to lie to you. Management turnover means owners who demand success no matter how and when your (scummy) techniques start failing because everyone knows them now, you are fired. So that is another sign of "anything goes in cheating and lying so long as you bring in the cash."

A woman named Tarin had called several times from a company called Freight Quote wanting to speak to the person in charge of shipping costs. She says she is looking to get more shipments for her drivers and claims she can give us the best rate possible. I keep taking her messages and I have told her if we were interested we would call her. Well she has called several times over the week and now its becoming a nuisance. She calls from a 913 area code but gives me a 800-323-5411 to reach her at with extension 1453.  I wish they would stop calling, I have other important phone calls to take from customers.

Some guy with a bit of a twang called to ask to "speak with the person who handles [our] shipping out there."  I told him we don't do any shipping.  He said that's what he needed to know, thanked me, and hung up.

I have asked them on several occasions not to call, yet they always call back - and here's the reason I don't want them calling.....

It's a scam, they will reclassify your freight and try and bill you for the difference, even though you provide them with an accurate description of the freight and the weight before they ever pick it up.  They quoted us, 450 picked up the freight, billed us 1125, said the freight was reclassified and then proceeded to argue that WE didn't know what we were doing.   Use AAA Cooper or USF or Old Dominion for your freight.  You ALWAYS get treated better when you deal direct than through a broker, which is what freightquote.com is.

We won't ever use them again for LTL or dedicated load freight.

Freight quote has always treated me right.  Matter of fact when we were in trouble they helped me out by working with the carrier who adjusted the price because of a weight discrepancy.

I've had plenty of problems with FQ. Rate increases and damage claims. FQ sells worthless damage claim insurance from scam companies and wont help on claims. I stopped using them years ago. Say what you want FQ, you've got big problems.

This is a legitimate freight broker company.  I used them for a big shipment of books and they got the job done with no issues.  They do call on occasion to see if I have any new business for them.

Nick called saying he was assigned our account... if so, he would have had a contact name.  Tried several times to fast-talk me into divulging a name.  No can do!!!!!!!  Any company that practices these tactics is beneath me.  Refuse to do business with them after tactics like that... shame on them for totally having sales people calling and lying to businesses.

This is from freightquote.com.  They are a legitimate shipping company that acts like a broker with many shipping companies.  I use them for big motor freight shipments and they have the best rates that I have been able to find anywhere.

That's quite an analogy.  Freight companies don't like freightquote because they negotiate rates that squeeze the carrier on price.  But the freight companies have figured out ways to jack the price.  All it takes is a weight change, zip code error, a loading dock variation, NMFC code variation, dimensions change (even as small as a few inches) and all of a sudden that great rate you were quoted evaporates!  Brokers have their place and are necessary, but freightquotes problem is carriers really don't want to deal with them.  So they use tactics to increase revenues on the shipments with them and the customer gets screwed.  I shipped a pallet to California from NC.  The shipment was quoted $689.00 and ended up costing over $2000!  I had no choice but to pay it, the carrier had already taken it half way across the country when they decided to raise the price.  The customer won't pay the difference, and I'm just out of luck!  These people are right, Freightquote doesn't do enough to defend it's customer base.
