This was a rather complicated two part call, but I was only able to record the second call, so some background information is necessary.

[Part 1, non recorded call]

A fellow introducing himself as "Chris from Action Medical" asked for me by a pseudonym I gave to a telemarketer earlier in April. He explained that due to recent changes in the Healthcare laws, I was now eligible for a new topical pain relief medication that was better and safer than traditional pain pills, such as Ibuprofin. He asked me if I was aware that traditional pain relief pills could harm my liver (although a grain of truth, I'm sure it's a tactic designed to scare me into wanting his topical pain killing medication)

He assured me he wasn't selling me this ointment, instead, he could contact my doctor and my doctor could arrange through him to have it sent to me directly via US Mail at no cost to me. Of course, he would need the name of my doctor.

I thought "Smith" would be too obvious, so I told him "S M Y T H E". He spent a few moments on the phone with me, accessing his database, attempting to find my fictitious "Dr. Smythe".

He noted "This is odd, usually I can find 99% of doctors mentioned to me, but I can't find your Dr. Smythe..." and he asked me if I had a phone number for the doctor. I said I have my medical file in a drawer and I'd be happy to get it if he could hold, and he agreed to wait while I went to get my folder.

Big mistake for him, I pressed MUTE on my phone (no Hold button) and left him for 5 minutes or so, then came back to tell him "I'm still looking".

This poor dumb guy actually waited on the phone for over 20 minutes while I was "...looking for my medical file". At one point I heard him say aloud "this is crazy!"

He finally disconnected and I expected him to call back, which he did, about 2 hours later.

[Part 2, recorded call]

The following documents his second call to me, which I was able to record. He reintroduced himself and reminded me about the topical ointment and that he couldn't find my doctor on his database. I told him there was one more box of my files in the garage and if he'd hold, I'd look through those documents to try to find the phone number of my (fictitious) Dr. Smythe. He agreed. I feel so guilty (not!), I put him on hold (I was using a software telephone on my computer desktop with a HOLD button now) and he remained on HOLD for just over 10 minutes this time! At least he had three different sets of HOLD music.

Received a call from above number and on the phone the company name US Life Care showed up. They had my name and also my address and the man wanted the name of my insurance company so his company could send my company info for me. He stated that all these changes occurred in January of this year. Instead I asked him for a phone number for his company so I could check out his company to see what they were all about and he said he did not have one but asked again for personal info about me. I told him that I see red flags with his line of questioning and he got annoyed and I told him that he was being argumentative and the conversation then ended. I also put this same info on another site that collects telemarketers bothering people and found out that this phone number changes the companies name to ID Crime Watch also. I called this number back and could not get a real person on the phone; a lot of red flags.

same thing here, just a good chance to practice your cursing or dirty talk. I tell them I have another call and put them on hold. NO reason to be polite with these crooks.

Have received two calls already this morning. No one on the other end.  How do I go about blocking such calls?

We are receiving numerous calls daily and have asked them to please stop.

Wanted to know details about elderly mother.  Sending knee brace, etc.  Items that Medicare covers....

They called here one time using the no. 1-210-526-6628 from San Antonio.  Another call came now from San Antonio,  but I did not get the number.  Other times using 1-914-219-0093 and then 1-626-544-5596. One time Western Medical, one time US LifecAre and another from Armonk, NY.   Yesterday a call came from Utah.  The first call Western  MedicL offered to send my husband a back brace and knee braces, and he fell for it hook, line and sinker.  I have been dealing with ever since.  I have done all the appropriAte things so hopefully they will not be able to access anything.

Receiving three and four calls a day from this number, and they always want my address and info even though I have told them that they have my info and just to send me something in writing.  Reported them to BB Scam Alert.  Really a nuisance

Yes, these predatory, cowardly, lowest rung of the evolutionary ladder, telemarketers disguised as professional security or safety wireless installers when it's them that consumers need protection from. My mother is receiving calls from this number. I told her to ignore them. But it's got her rattled and she wants it to stop.

I get the same kind of calls that everybody else is describing and only 2 or 3 rings and than nobody is there. I call back and get a recording to either talk to a representative or to have my number removed from the list. I did both and in either case the problem still exist.

I have had four calls from this number today and it's only 1:30. They are relentless. I called the number and asked to be removed from their database. Instead, I am plagued with yet more calls. It's never-ending and an invasion of privacy. What can we do to stop the calls?

Yeah, I am getting these calls too. They called asking for my daughter, who happened not to be home. They refused to say what the call was about. Then they called several more times, but the line was dead when I picked up the phone. Their behavior was so odd I googled the number and discovered this thread.

Do not call my number how often do you want me to be rude.  I dont even feel bad about it anymoreo. You call at least 5x a day

I'm about ready to kill some sonzabitches. They've hammered me for 5 months straight now, I've filed formal complaints with the FCC, the FTC, the no-call list, and my telephone company. I noticed one user mentioned they called and selected to be removed from the list but it took 72 hours- my recording said 48 hours. After 2 days, they started calling twice as much. I think they spoof their number sometimes, someone must have learned how to use Asterisk PBX. 13+ useless calls per day where sometimes someone answers, other times it's a dead line. Can't get a moments peace anymore, I'll probably just solve all of these calls by ditching my phone service. It's ridiculous now.

Can the governmental services stop this idiots from calling day or night . Here is clear invasion of privacy and it goes unattended.They have called me at least 12 times in the last week. i have spoken with someone three of those times and told them the person they are calling for does NOT live here and to remove my phone number. I even called their number and went through their do-not-call procedure. still, at 8:10 this morning i got yet another call!!! the caller id says "US Life Care"

They have called several time in several consecutive days no messages . Just answered it and the "lady" on the other end could not even properly pronounce my wifes name Joan.WTH? Said it was about idenity thief. Told we were already covered, when I tried to ask not to call anymore she hung up on me.

They keep calling, sometimes several times a day and rings 3/4 times and then just hangs up.

Number calls my work line asking to verify my information... all they have is that my name is Barbara Jones...  which is not my name but the name I gave them.   Told me about senior identity protection and then transferred me to someone with Western Medical Supply... everyone wants me to verify information (that they do not have)

Been slow at work and I have enjoyed my chats being a 64 year old names Barbara :)  

Our house is getting bombarded with calls from 914 219-0093. Today alone, 12/11/2013, we've received 4 calls: 10:30am, 3:00pm, 5:01pm, 6:17pm.

My mother received a phone call from this number:  914-219-0093 asking her for personal information like medicare number.  They had a lot of information about her.  Want to know who this is.

Second call of the week today.  Broken English lady asked me if I got the information that they sent.  She was calling from "Senior Crime Watch."  I said I had not gotten anything from the company and had no use for any.  She said she wanted a person to confirm my name and address, and I told her they already had it.  I went on hold.  Next up is a gentleman named Bob from Western Medical.  He sounded intelligent and sincere.  They are a DME supplier (durable medical equipment) who sells to the Medicare clientele. He said they wanted to be available for helping to treat any pains?  I might have - at no cost to me.  I told Bob I was tired of someone calling me for solicitation - when I have been on the do not call list for years.  He said he was sorry, but he came on the line as a referral.  I told him I would report the original number to the do not call website.  Whoppee............

I wish this nmbr would stop calling my home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
