Called again today and passed right through Optimum's blocking options.

This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!.  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  And never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robo callers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

This is only of the savvy telemarketers that get past the blocks I put on my Optimum account. Perhaps their not so savvy and Optimum is inept!
This telemarketer always has a cause of the day. The robo caller can hang up or listen to my voicemail. makes no difference to me.

I've gotten this call but my phone blocks it now.   As for contacting the DNCL  or the 'FCC, that is a joke. I contacted my Congressional Ref and he sends me back 6 pages of crap I need to fill out for the FCC.  I went the FCC site and they were "closed" because of the idiots in the government.

This person keep calling my parents house from this number (914) 908-5441 and asking for money saying they are collecting for fallen police officers. I know this is scam because I am a retired police officer and Police departments do not solicit the public for money, nor do they need money for fallen officers as they have their own funds to cover families of fallen officers supplied by both the department and their local PBA union. I will do my own investigation to track down this guy and make sure I find him a nice warm 5x8 cell to spend quality time with himself.

You have a number of options.
Optimum provides 32 free call blocks if you create an online account. If you have a different service provider call them. Some providers charge a fee.
Some Panasonic phones can block up to 250 #'s. I have an older model that blocks 30 #'s. Once a # has been blacklisted the next time it calls the phone will ring once and hang up.
There are call blockers you can buy at amazon, eBay or other places that work like the Panasonic and have addition features.
Optimum and allows you to list about 35 #'s that ring with a different ringtone. You can set your safe callers to that tone so you can separate those 35 safe callers from all your incoming calls. My Panasonic allows 7 different ringtones to distinguish callers.  
Since September 30 there has been a free online service that works with many natioal service providers to block these calls before your phone ever Ring's. Check their website to see if you service provider is included. They have to screen your calls, so there may be a privacy issue.

I'm not positive, since I never pick up the phone for unsolicited anonymous calls, but this may be the Police Athletic League (PAL).   Port Chester NY.

I held the line for a minute and someone finally started talking. He was polite and said that he was working for some kind of Police Fund Project. Collecting donations for fallen Police Officers. Not sure how legit this is but i just let him know my line was a place of business and he politely apologized and hung up.

Called twice on 10/19/2013 11:14 AM and 5:44 PM from Rye, NY. This is the fourt and last call for this scum. The # is now blocked. See my previous posts for further info.

Everyone should file a complaint with the FCC.

I get a call from this number about once a day.  I don't pick up and caller ID only identifies the phone number.  I'm sure it's a robo call.  Don't know the company.  The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY does not help with these creeps.  Only legitimate companies, that can be identified, will respond to the DO NOT CALL.

8:41 PM this number rings my phone and hung up when answering machine picked up.

I *67'ed the #. A male voice answers saying no one is available to take your call. Press.... to be removed.
No company name is given. This scammer called a few days ago from a different #. It was the same recording from a different #.

They rang 3 times, then hung up before my answering machine picked up. l don't know who these lowlives, are, nor do l care. I won't waste my time answering their calls.

Every day I am getting calls from this number.  I do not answer but I recognize the number.  They never leave a message, but i am sick of scam phone calls.

As with my fellow posters, I am so sick and goddamn tired of this s***. I am on ALL the DO NOT CALL Registry's and it means NOTHING ANYMORE!  I don't care anymore. I DONT TRUST ANY OF THEM ANYMORE.     IF, I WANT TO DONATE ..I....WILL DONATE WHEN I GODDAMN FEEL LIKE IT!

These SOB's call every goddamn day and at all friggan hours...Here is a small sample from just the last 2 days.:
Oct. 15th: Called me at: 5:22am & 5:24am, again at  9:22am & 9:24am then 1:21pm & 1:23pm and again at 5:22pm & 5:24pm...Oct 16th, the 1st call came at  7:22am, 7:24am, 11:21am, 11:23am, 3:22pm, 3:24pm...EVERY FLIPPIN DAY..I am so tired of this..they call, answering machne picks up? Dial tone. I pick it up, hear nothing and scream into the phone TAKE ME OFF YOUR GODDAMN LIST..lol...They probably didn't ge that, but it sure felt great LOL...

PLEASE, HELP US, PLEASE! EVERYONE MUST UNITE AND STOP THIS BS ONCE AND FOR ALL

I've been Registered member of the DO NOT CALL Registry's since the beginning. I understand that other organazations are still allowed to call. But when no one is on the other end, FU$% THAT! I, WE, NEED too find out who these SOB's are, get a lawyer and SUE THEIR ASSESS FOR HARASSMENT!
