That's not true. THIS number may be a scam, but there are a number of legitimate businesses using numbers like that -- for example, some taxi companies use a seven digit number where all the digits are the same. Dare I also say that there are a couple of well-respected consumer/defendants' law firms in my area that also use numbers like that, too. (I'm not advertising or vouching for anyone, so I'm not going to say anything more about them.)
If you use these companies, you probably know who they are and might be expecting a call from them. But a phone number with all of the last seven digits the same is NOT a sure sign of a scammer -- unless the repeated digit is 0 or 1. But everyone probably knew that, already.

Another jerk. any number like this with all the same 999-9999 etc is a scam. never answer those numbers. I hate the ones with 000-0000 or the 124-11111. Another number listed in my restricted list under A Holes!

received a call from him saying he is calling from time warner and wanted to talk to manager
when I said I am not interested and if he could take me off his calling list, he called me a f***ing b****
I called back TW and they are trying to trace him
he said his name was shawn (or sean?) march

I rec'd a call from this number 7/1/13 at my workplace. It was a man with a heavy accent claiming to be from "optimum online" asking me about which numbers I had with optimum and if I had any phone lines with Verizon. I thought it suspicious that Optimum would be calling me out of the blue asking me which numbers THEY service, so I told the caller that I was busy and would have to call him back. When I asked for his name and number he hung up on me (as I anticipated). I have caller ID, so I had the number. I called Optimum and reported the call - the customer service rep I spoke with confirmed this is NOT one of their numbers. If you receive a phone call from this number, DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION.
