I just received a call from a guy with an Indian Accent claiming he is from Citibank and I have been approved for $10,000.  Yeah right with my credit No One is going to give me $10,000.  They love to call from different numbers using different lender and financial institution names.  They also keep calling and saying that there is a warrant for my arrest by the FBI. Yeah ok if the FBI or any gov't organization has a warrant for me they would have come and got me.  Guess they are too stupid to realize that they keep using this same number and other numbers over and over again and say different things.  Stupid People trying to scam us hard working people.

This individual answered my craigslist post about camera lens I have for sale asking me to text her (using name Mariam Mary) back. I guess to get the number to nag me further.

Contacted my phone carrier and reported it to their pfishing site after talking with a rep.  Still plan to contact FCC.

Received a text message from (916) 234-6894 stating that my Gmail account had been hacked and to reply--READY- when able to reactivate account.  I do not have a Gmail account.  Will report to FCC.

Getting texts from this number claiming i won a 1000$ best buy card and give a link to click lol im guessing its a fishing adress so yea i'll just block it guess they changed they're game plan

My Daughter received a call from this number 11/05/11. Came up as 916-234-4345/20. Saying she received a $7000 grant. The one thing that struck me as suspicious was they were calling on a Saturday and she is only 15yrs old and when she asked the person(that had an Indain accent) to speak to her father they said they would caller back on Monday. Now the scarry part is they had her first and last name which i didnt see anyone comment on. Also they said she was from the US Gov.

Called my carrier to report this number and have it blocked. It figures I had to complain about east indian fraud to an east indian. Sometimes I wonder how they get our numbers. *rolls eyes* Hopefully sprint does something or I'm just gonna change my number.

I got this same exaxct phone call today!!

I recieved this call twice today...6234434520 and she said she was sharon brown from the us goverment grant department(very heavy accent) she continued to say I was being awarded $7000.00 for being a good citizen, and all i needed to do was give her a checking account number or any account number to where she could deposit the money, when i told her to just mail it to me, she said that they dont do that, i continued to tell her that i was not giving any information like that over the phone, she seemed annoyed and said "I dont have time to waste, either you want the money or you dont" I told her again to mail it and she hung up on me. I am glad I knew better to give any info to anyone over the phone that had called me. Also when i asked her for a phone # and grant # she said she would give it to me after I gave the info she needed!!

I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER AND TODAY I FINALLY TOLD THE MAN ON THE OTHER END TO TAKE MY NAME AND NUMBER OFF HIS LIST AND STOP CALLING . HE LAUGHED AND SAID HE LOVED ME AND HAVE A GREAT DAY. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF NUT DID I GET AHOLD OF. I AM NO LONGER ANSWERING THESE CALLS HOW CAN I STOP THEM??

Received 3 calls from this number, one each day this week.  This number and 623-443-4520 which I've gotten calls from in the past 2 days also, - both numbers are saying the same thing.  From the dates I'm seeing on the complaints, this has been going on for a long time.  Why can't they be stopped!

Update - The extra digits are in the FRONT of the number, not at the end.  "91" is the country code for India.  The number that is calling you is 91-623-443-4520.  If you google 6234434520, there is another thread of people just as annoyed as those on this thread.

Been getting calls 3-4X per day for the past 10 days.  They started by saying they were calling about a loan application.  When I confronted them about it, they apologized for having the wrong number and said they wouldn't call again.  That was a week ago, and they are still calling, only now they are hanging up every time.

Caller ID is the same - with the extra two digits at the end.

If anyone can figure out how to block this number, I would appreciate the info.

(Also, caller was definitely middle eastern.)

I received a call from this number. It was a woman claiming to be calling from the Federal Grant Department and that my number had been selected to receive a grant of $7,000.00. She had a very heavy accent and said her name was Sharon Brown. I don't know about you, but I've never met a person with such an American name and who had a very heavy accent?! I asked for her ID number and call back number. She refused to give me her call back number, but she did give me her ID number, which was supposedly #7146. She then asked in which one of my accounts I wanted the money transfered to. I told her I would not be giving her any of my account information. I then asked for her ID number again and this time she said it was #1746. I confronted her about the number she had given me earlier and then she hung up. Be very careful about giving your personal information to companies/people you don't know.

I got a call from this number twice today about 5 minutes ago (currently 7:18pm). They just hung up when I answered so I am fairly certain they are doing something shady, if not blatant phishing or fraud.

This caller continues to call me everyday for the last 3 days.  On the second day, I told them not to call anymore.  Don't really know what they are calling for because they don't speak very clearly.  On the third call, he said he kept calling because I sounded so sweet.  Obvious sarcasm since by then I was pretty ticked off!

I got a call today. Sounded fishy. Fortunately, call got disconnected.

The moron had a middle eastern accent and wanted me to sing happy birthday to him. What a jack   a**.  I hate people like this calling. There has to be some law for them calling when a person is listed on a national registry to not have callers solicite or crank call.

And they wonder why we dont like them......how do you have a number with 6 last digits anyway?

Received a call from this number, same as the Middle East accent, identified themselves as calling from the US Government. I listened to what he had to say then told him I was not interested and hung up.  This was my first call from them maybe I won't get another.

Been getting these calls from this number the past few days.  It seems the scammers from India are at it again.  You can hardly understand their accent and they claim to be from the US government.  Then the next time they are collecting for a payday loan that you never took out. They will get loud and rude and try and scare you into sending them money.  Don't try and call the number back it is a masked number and it comes up disconnected.  These idiots are telephone terrorists, the government needs to get involved now to stop this BS.

I just got a call and same thing about the 7000 -he sounded Indian or could be Australian...definietly not from US....said he was calling from us government....he asked for my address and I gave it to him (darn it) but when he started asking about my ck acct to put money into it I told him I was not going to give him my acct. number and I hung up. Who can we report this to????

These Phucks call me at least 5x a day.  When I answer, they hang up!  I can't block their # because it comes up as 916-234-434520 on my phone!

I just got a call from this number. I listened to his whole thing and he asked me for my birthdate. I told him i didnt feel comfortable giving that out and he hung up.

I have gotten several calls from this number today.  They have it set up so you cannot call them back.  From the background noise, it sounds like they are in a telemarketing room.  The phone number is listed to a land line in California. When I answered the phone, no one said a thing, so I hung up and blocked the call. Usually, it is a computer generated call, and they don't pick up until someone answers. I also wish we could do away with all these scammers and schemers, especially when they can' even speak good ENGLISH.
