I am getting calls from this number saying that they represent a client that I apparently was in an accident with and that I owe them $6000 or they will suspend my license. I have no idea what they are talking about?!? When I told the man on the phone I had no idea what he was talking about he started being really mean and nasty to me, I cussed him out and hung up! These are scam artists!!!

This company has at least 25 complaints of fraud according to BBB.

I've been recieving calls from them for the past couple weeks. I was involved in a car accident on December 2012 and I didn't have insurance at the time. Yes my license was suspended for a couple months because of this. I got a letter from the other person's insurance company saying I owe them $4000 in damages, even though I know it was way less. I never replied to them and I guess these people DK and Associates are now trying to collect those $4000. So I blocked them from my phone and now I got a text from them saying they're gonna suspend my license again even though it was already suspended from that accident and I got it reinstated. What should I do? I'm thinking about waiting till I get a letter from them about sending me to court.

I don't have a license chris.
CelticDragon 2014-01-17 20:26:11 Unknown
So are you going to go off on me even though I don't even HAVE a license and don't drive?!
ShillKill 2014-01-17 19:49:21 Unknown
I find it odd that Chris, who can't even read, has taken it upon himself to show up here and lecture all of us on the "Financial responsibility Law". Can you even spell it without cutting and pasting? Which specific state or commonwealth statute are you referring to? It makes a huge difference. I figured you would know that, since you are the self-appointed guardian of morality and virtue as it regards motorists.

Your license CAN be suspended if you owe back child support. It cannot be suspended over a car accident, unless it also included a DUI.
eddy 2014-01-17 15:58:56 Unknown
Exactly which " Financial responsibility Law" are you talking about? These matters are usually governed by state law. A citation to a statute number, or at least a reference to a particular jurisdiction, would be helpful.
ShillKill 2014-01-17 14:57:31 Unknown
Wow, making some assumptions aren't we?
>>>>you caused damage in an accident and didn't have the required insurance coverage.
Did the poster say they were in an accident? Even if they were, are you the judge? Are they "at fault" because you said so? Also, where is your evidence that the poster did not have required insurance?
>>>You are liable, better resolve and get a release to protect your driving and registration privileges. can't go around causing damage and not pay for it.
How can you make that statement when you haven't even established they were in an accident? Guess you just like shooting your mouth off

Look at these DK heads! http://www.linkedin.com/pub/emile-amarnek/6/a17/2a0 and others. under http://www.linkedin.com/company/douglas-knight-&-associates-inc Yes, a Collection Agency http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... ton-fl-90004224 that may be using "deceptive and unfair business practices" "harassing and abusing relatives and friends" off their "associated list." Again with the lack of reading comprehension. Nowhere does the poster say he had an accident.
anon 2014-01-17 06:13:26 Unknown
Again, you're assuming an awful lot. Nowhere does the poster say her son even had an accident, or if he did, that he didn't have the proper insurance coverage. Trademark of a shill - zero reading comprehension and assuming all posters are guilty.
anon 2014-01-17 06:09:58 Unknown
The poster didn't say she was in an accident, or that she caused damage and didn't pay for it. Like most shills, you assume an awful lot.
chris 2014-01-17 06:00:23 Unknown
you are incorrect. under the Financial Responsibility Law registered vehicle owners MUST carry the proper liability insurance in case an accident happens to pay for the damages caused. You need to resolve this and obtain a release to protect your driving and registration privileges. people can not cause damage and not pay for it and not be held responsible.
chris 2014-01-17 05:57:47 Unknown
if your son did not have the proper insurance coverage on the date of the accident, he is responsible to pay for the damage. Under the Financial responsibility Law you are required to have the proper insurance coverage on your vehicle. need to resolve the matter and obtain a release to protect the driving and registration privileges.
Chris 2014-01-17 05:54:45 Unknown
you caused damage in an accident and didn't have the required insurance coverage. You are liable, better resolve and get a release to protect your driving and registration privileges. can't go around causing damage and not pay for it.

Just got a call too. The male caller stated the same thing as mentioned above, accident, revoking license. What the heck. Please if these are creditors this is a crappy way of trying to obtain information. Otherwise, I'm going to mark it off as scammers.

These people just called my son and threatened him. They said he owed $9,000 and if he didn't pay they would revoke his driver's license. Thanks to all of the above posters I am treating this as a scam. They should have been contacting my insurance company if this was legit. I'm contacting the Florida State's Attorney.

I just got the same message phone call today from a lady saying that my license will be suspended if I don't pay $3900 from an accident that happen months ago. I just got my license back and once I told her to not talk to me and talk to my attorney she flipped on me saying "enjoy the bus your suspended" and hung up. Not sure if this is scam? I am currently waiting for my attorney to call me with more information.

They tried to take my licensee, even went as far as contacting the DMV and sending a letter to get my licensee taken. Got pulled over, had no licensee was on hold???? Never got a letter from NC DMV. Contacted DMV, they had no idea why or how my licensee was on hold / suspended. According to NC your licensee can not be taken over a civil matter. They sent me a letter stating my licensee were not supsended and i had to take this to the DA and pay an attorney. This is a company who doesn't care if you owe to money or not, they just keep hounding you. Good Luck!

Jane's post above makes some good points. These people are scammers. If you talk to them again, demand they mail you proof that you owe this debt. If they refuse, then you now they are scamming criminals! You could also call your auto insurance company to see if they have any information regarding this accident.

does anyone know anything about them im receiving the same calls and theyre threatening to take my home saying I owe them 3,995 I don't have that kind of money and its about a car accident that happened two years ago...ive been trying to find out info on them but keeo coming up with dead ends please help any info will be greatly appreciated
Jane 2012-09-06 17:59:20 Unknown
Yeah, I've been getting calls from these people for the past two months or so and never answer. They always leave the same message saying that it's regarding my loss of a case of accident that I had on so-and-so date, my driving privileges, it's very important that I return their call, give case number blah blah blah. But I was actually in an accident about 2 years ago.
I knew it was fake because,
1) I have never received ANYTHING whatsoever about a court date that I have apparently "lost"
2) If anything happened to my driving privileges I would have heard from the DMV much, much sooner than 2 years after this accident.
3) The phone call itself was very unprofessional. There's always horrible reception and/or music playing in the background. They also always try to mumble the name of their "company."
These people are terrible at their job. Which is obviously conning people.

I got call from them several times. They called themselves "Douglas and Snyder Associates". They left a message and told me that I was involved in an accident with a "claim number" that I did not. They left a 800-359-11975 number with extension 2279 and 2284 and asked me to call them back. When I did, they asked my birth date.
bunny 2012-08-12 03:36:59 Debt Collector
It was a lady saying she was from Douglas Knight and Associates and that I'd better not be caught driving because my license has been suspended. I have found out that this is not true and it is illegal for her to say such things.
Jim 2011-03-18 01:11:20 Unknown
I too got a call from them telling me my license had been suspended due to my accident. I've never been in accident and they are calling me from a different state.

Recieved a call that I had been in auto accident and my license was suspended... hung up on them b/f they could finish.. they called back and left me a voicemail with same info and gave phone # and case # for me to call back and reference.

i guess i owe them money!
