Some people have so many numbers they dont remember what name goes to what number. My own fiancee cant remember my cell number to save his life even though its been the same for over a year now and he's called it a billion times. He just goes into his contacts, picks my name and hits send. *shrug*


It does seem fishy though that they wouldnt tell you who they are. And its strange because carriers will usually switch all the info to another phone if asked, and the info stays if you just switch your number.

7/31/09 Received a text message from a new number (not stored in my phone): "Hey hey! Hope all is well.  I have a new number 785 639 3688.  Can u pls text me ur name 2 that # thanks!".  Sounds like a scam, not answering to find out, just reported it... why would someone who KNOWS YOU need you to text them your NAME, to a different phone number?
