My husband just received the same call.  He called back after I read this info plus more on the internet.  The man with the Indian accent said his name was Matthew and read off the same crap as he did to everyone else.  "Matthew" said that my husband took out a payday loan with US National Bank in November of 2007.  My husband then informed "Matthew" that he was in Iraq in November 2007 so that was not possible and hung up on him.  I called back 10 minutes later after digging up more info on this "company" and asked who I was speaking to.  He "Matthew" said he was with the legal affidavit department.  I asked for which company and he said US National Bank.  I asked his name and he paused, I asked again and he said his name was Ed.  I went ballistic and told him that 10 minutes ago, his name was Matthew.  What is wrong with these people?  Do they seriously make their living this way?  The number he called from was  916-728-6353.  I looked it up and it is registered in California, but when my husband tried to call that number directly, it said it was international.  The callback number Ed, Matthew, whatever left was 949-743-0173.

Ok, here is the latest. TOLLFREEFORWARDING.com is the company that is setting up these phone numbers for people in other countries. They are the ones we need to go after for now.  I have reported them to the better business bureau, you all should do the same. I am also filing a complaint against them in SF superior court. Details to be determined. I believe the causes of action will revolve around the lack of monitoring their customers , and promising these criminals that their info will not be revealed to the public. I hope that is some sort of crime.

I to recieved this same phone call from someone with an african accent telling me I had a court date regarding money that I defualted on from a payday loan company. I asked him who the company was that I owed money to? He told me usnational bank, which sounded like a name he just pulled out of his butt when I asked him the question. I asked him what date did I recieve the money? What was his name? And what was his phone number? He told me his name was Sam Baker, which struck me as odd considering his heavy african accent. The phone number that I was called from was (949)743-0173 I'm treating this as a fraudulant call, and will be contacting authorities. Watch your bank account and credit report, good luck to everyone going through this.

have you done any payday loans in the past where you had to enter all of your information? If so this is how they get it.  There is a fraudulant payday website that retains your info, never gives you the loan and then sells your information to them.  They use scare tactics to get you to confirm your info and then try to take the money out of your account.

My sister in law got a call yesterday and called back they threatened her  and told her two agents would be picking her up at work this morning to bring her to her court date.  We have been researching it all day and found out that it is part of a nigerian scam.  I called there offices today and basically told them that what there doing is illegal and to leave her alone.  My fiance called posing as an attorney and they were scared out of their minds and hung up on him.  Don't worry about it. If I were you though I would monitor my credit report for the next few months.

I recieved the same message.  I called back, they tried to tell me that I have a court date at 11am the next morning and to verify your information.  I hung up on them, and, found out it was a scam call to access your bank account.  Don't respond.  I now have to close out all my accounts to avoid further threats.  It's sad and ridiculous the things that people come up with to create identity theft.  So, therefore, I recommend ignoring that message, and good luck!

The caller tell me that the second I recieve the message, either myself or my retained attorney should call him. He then left the phone number. Repeated it twice. Then told me not to disregard this message. Return the call.
Then he said "Now, Miss ----- If you or your attorney does not return the call. I just wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you".

I took this as a threat.  I don't know what situation he is talking about.
