I received a call today at work of all places.. stating I needed to call this attorney about a lawsuit that had been filed against me, and that if I didn't do it within an hour I was going to Jail.   I called and an Alex Cooper stated that I had committed fraud and that I needed to pay 492 dollars right now or I was going to jail in an hour.... As I was speaking to him it started to piss me off so I raised my voice, then he started screaming at me.. I hung up the phone.
5 min late I get call from Sacromento Sheriffs Office telling me she is Jennifer Washington and she is on the line with Alex Cooper and that I am going to arrested today... When I began to ask questions she began yelling back at me....

I called the Sheriffs office... there was no employee by that name that worked there... and I was advised that this was SCAM!!!!
I am in OHIO.... omg...
So very upset about this... not good

I got a call from 951-878-0978 from a "Max" that said he was from the Law Offices of Alex Cooper. very identical conversation as I have read here in these posts.  Thick Indian accent -Threatened law suit, said that they would send the Sheriff to my work place and lock me up for six months.  If I cooperated I would be able to avoid all of that.  They wanted me to send them money to some "Bill Pay" office near me. I told them I'm not paying anything until I see some paper work of what's going on. He got short with me and said he was sending the Sheriff to my workplace. I asked him what address because you don't even know where I work AND it wouldn't be a Sheriff.  He hung up. These guys really make me angry.

I just received a call at work from a Michael Johnson. That I needed to contact his Attorney Alex Cooper. But the call had some kind of echo. I have no idea whom this person is nor what he is talking about. He said something about my Social Security #, about it being a fraud. But did not give me no more information.

I got a phone call in 2012, April to be exact same story as everyone else, right down to the Middle Eastern accent, I told Alex Cooper/Maxwell/James Bond(yes he said that's his name) then to go to hell. Called me twice in the last three days, 2/27 and 2/28/13. So, I said two can play this game. I took his phone call, and endulged him. Then I informed him who I was, that he tried this last year and that he could go to hell again. Well today, 2/28/2013, he called again. I endulged him again. Then I turned the tables, I began asking him questions, what did this pertain too, and that I knew this was a scam, and that there is an entire web page devoted to him, and his scam, blah, blah, blah.  He asked me what I did for work after calling me a piece of $hit...I told him, I got paid to sleep with his mom and his sisters, and his wife if indeed he had one, and it really wasn't worth the money banging w***es. He hung up on me. So, in keeping this alive, I blocked my number called him back, and addressed myself as myself..lol. And reminded him that I was on to his scheme. His reply was, "I threaten people to make my money, and I make $10,0000 a month with 70 plus guards..good luck coming after me." I told him that I would be notifying law enforcement regardless, and that he should really get that camel p***s out of his mouth, and that he would have better luck having a**l sex with his 70 guards than ever getting me to fall privy to his scam. He hung up on me again..and so now, I've been calling him every hour, and hanging up on him just to be problematic...lol.

Bottom line here is....these people live off of people's fear. If you all show that you don't give a s***, and tell him how it is, they'll back down. Because they know they can't get you. Just play the game and laugh....

INDIAN SCAM OPERATION..
Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C. December 07, 2010

FBI National Press Office (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

   Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
   File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements.
ASK THEM THEIR LOCATION AND ADDRESS.
ASK THEM WHEN YOU GOT THAT LOAN.
ASK THEM ABOUT THE COMPANY'S NAME ADDRESS AND WEBSITE WHO GIVEN THE LOAN.
ASK FOR THE BANK ACCOUNT IN WHICH THE MONEY WAS DEPOSITED AND VERIFY WITH YOUR BANK.
ASK THE COMPANY'S TOLL FREE PHONE NUMBER AND YOUR LOAN ACCOUNT NUMBER.
IF YOU ALREADY PAID THEM, CONTACT YOUR BANK AND POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THIS SCAM.

"God will catch them one day."  -- That reminds me of a story about a flood a really great friend told me one day.  (He was a Southern Baptist, if that makes any difference to you.)

The water started rising in the streets surrounding a religious man's home.  We'll call him "Fred."  A police car went through the streets with a bullhorn telling people to leave their homes because of the impending flood.  Fred went out and told the officers that he was sure God will save him, and that he was staying put.

The water rose even more, and now police officers in boats were coming down the street offering to transport people out of the way of the storm.   The water was already up to the doorknobs when they knocked on Fred's door.  He said he was staying put because he knew that God would save him.

Then the water rose almost up to the roof of Fred's house, and a police helicopter came with a rope and someone to help lift Fred into the helicopter to take Fred away from the flood.  Fred was on the roof, saw the helicopter, and waved them away.  He said God will save him from any danger.

Finally, Fred finds himself at the Gates of Heaven and has a chance to meet his Maker, Himself.  Fred doesn't know why God didn't save him from drowning, so he asks Him.

God says to Fred, "Didn't save you from drowning?  What are you talking about?  I sent a car, a boat, and a helicopter to save you.  Why didn't you use one of them?"

The moral is, if you really want to stop these people, do what Jesus would do -- hire a Jewish lawyer.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Have received 11 (ELEVEN) calls in the past week and a half from 951-468-0081. Indian accent - looking for "Darias Metcalf"  -- man was argumentative when I asked him to please stop calling and that no one lives here by that name. he wanted to know why someone would put my number on the forms if it was not a real number! If i had been thinking better, I would have whistled loudly into the phone -- a great, wise grandmother once told me to do that!  I had forgotten until just now!

A male with a very heavy accent, using a variety of names, has been calling and leaving messages on our voice mail, asking for an employee who has not worked with us for quite a few years, threatening the employee with lawsuits, sheriff, says the'll pick him up at work and take him to jail, you name it.   The return phone number the caller uses is 951 468-0081.  Sometimes the messages says he's from New York, either the police department or the attorney general's office.

We realize this is a scam and ignore the calls and erase the messages.  However, someone needs to do something to stop the intimidation and  threats that are being made.

This has been happening to me for probably about 2 years. I thought I had scared them off last year when they were calling my work and cell but the calls have started again. Same man with accent and everything. The story is usually that I have a law suit against my social, but I have also been threanted arrest along with many more threats. When this started happening to me I contacted the law firm that they were claiming to be and no one by the name I was given even worked there. They were not very happy. I also contacted a lawyer to check into filing my own law suit for harrasment and was told that it was a scam and there was nothing that could be done. The govt. or ftc is aware of this big problem/ scam. I also filed a claim. Please people contact them and file one also. He also told me it's hard to track phone numbers because there always changing and not real. He said the calls usually orginate from out of the country and somehow they have a way to make it look like it is coming from the US, usually Calfornia. Wish we could get and catch these assoholes but at this time I don't think there is. I have went off on them and even called back and I get no answer or hung up on. I told them just last week that I knew this was a scam.

I've gotten these calls, too.  More of the same thing.  And the extension they gave me is 201.  I know for a fact I do not owe the money they claim to the people they claim.  I told them they were a scam and to stop bothering me.  They hang up on you, they tell you that you have one hour to pay them or they are going to send the sherriff to arrest you.  I told them I didn't owe this money and they claim and they get very nasty and tell you good luck spending 6 months in jail.  Number One, if you had a lawsuit against you, things would not go the way they have described to everyone.  You would be served with paperwork to appear in court.  I did call the number they gave and it hung up on me.  I am extremely organized and have valid paperwork on everyone I owe money to.

For the past week I have been getting blocked number calls (which I am sure are from the same guy)as well as calls from a guy with a heavy accent. He keeps asking for someone and I keep telling him he has the wrong number. He called me today and left me a message and say I needed to call this number  951-468-0081, that it was from the attorney general office. I couldnt understand all of the message. Anyway I did his calls like I do all unwanted calls.....I put them on my contact list as "DONT ANSWER". It works until someone can come up with a better plan....hope they catch these creeps!!!
