I just received the same call about the energy survey for tax rebates yesterday afternoon.  I googled the program that they said they were working with FPL on (PACE) and it was a real program, although it wasn't exactly as described in the phone call.  This morning I did some more research and found out on the FPL site that it's a scam.  I did as FPL recommended and call Florida's Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Not much help--the guy didn't take down any information and just suggested trying to cancel the appointment and said not to let them into the house. I did try to call the number to cancel, but a recording says it's been disconnected.

I phoned our local police dept.  They also said not to let them in, and if there was any difficulty getting the "energy audit" scammers to leave to phone them, and officers from the PD would be dispatched right away.

The appt. is 2 hours from now...

I just received this call once again! CALLER ID comes up as OUT OF AREA!!!
I do have them blocked but they don't seem to get the hint to stop calling here!!
I did call FPL and filed a report on them and there is nothing that FPL can do about it, the only thing the gentlemen told me was not to let any one in unless you have called them to come out for service, also FPL employees must be wearing an FPL ID badge, if they don't have one they are not allowed on your property at all and to call the police. They do not have a company by the name of Alternative Solutions working for them.

It is still going on.  Caller ID says Florida Medical but it wasn't.  Definitely a scam and should be reported.

I received a call from them today but the CALLER ID came up as OUT OF AREA, so I didn't answer it.

Also received a call from this number showing caller ID "Florida Medical" which scared the heck out of me.   I reprimanded them immediately when they said they were calling about "alternative energy".  I called the FCC and placed a complaint, which they said if they get enough complaints they will investigate" but this is all part of a caller ID spoofing to make people answer their phones.  Please call and report to try and put an end to this caller ID spoofing.  Using a Hospital Number is very unnerving, to say the least especially when your children and husband are on their way to school/work etc.

I had the same phone call as SK5 yesterday (09-04-13).  FPL knows nothing about this.  Either block this number or do not answer..

I didn't even bother to answer and let it go to voice mail. Naturally they hung up without leaving a message. I am adding them to my blocked list. To the above people who gave out personal information or addresses: DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR when they come knocking.

Dumb as I am  I answered woman's call and agreed to set n appointment for their 13 point plan-checked the number after and found out that it;s a scam but couldn't get through on call back to cancel. Will tell them I cancelled if they show up and see what happens-have a bunch of police and BSO who are neighbors who I alerted if they see any trouble

11:29AM 8/17/2013 Received call from woman who said she was from Alternative Solutions, asked about my electric bill and I questioned their ties to FPL. She said because my bill was over $125, someone would be at my house in 30 minutes to give a 13 point efficiency report. When I stated that I didn't request it, she said that I authorized it. I asked how I authorized; she said by answering the phone.  I started to question more, and she hung up on me. When I called the number 954-233-4662, I got a recording that I called, the message said I reached a non-working number or one that was not in service.

They called me, too. Same FPL scam. I called FPL and filed a complaint and gave them all the details.

I received a call today at 8/9/2013

I feel kind of dumb because I then later realized I had given them my address ! I am freaking out. Can they use that info against me?

Got a call today 08/02/2013  at 12.13pm. Florida Medical with some guy that wants to come and visit me so I can save money on electricity (?). I immediately filed a complaint with the FTC. Please do the same for all of us if you get a call from this people. Thanks. Here is the FTC website:

We have been receiving phone calls from the number 954-233-4662 since 7/19/2013 (6:25 PM). Then, again on 7/22/2013 (7:25 PM), 7/22/2013 (8:33 PM), 7/23/2013 (10:07 AM), 7/26/2013 (9:31 AM), 7/26/2013 (11:33 AM), and /2013 (11:52 AM). In 6 of these 7 calls, on the screen of the phone appears"Florida Medical", but in the call #5 (7/26/2013 at 9:31) the caller is "V72606312800877". I did not take any call but the last one. A male person was asking my permission for visiting my home and help us to save money in coming FPL's bills. I could not understand his explanation to my question of what that had to do with "Florida Medical", and insisted in helping me to save money. Then I told him I was to search about them, and he gave his website, "clickenergyclub", which I could not find. Does anyone know something else about this issue, which appears to be another scam?

A family member received a phone call from this number. Two males claimed they work for FPL (Fla. Power and Light) and that they needed to enter the house for repair work. They urged my family member to give them a date and time they could come to the house and insisted that they couldn't do the work unless a family member was present.

They also claimed to work for Alternative Solutions.
