Okay, this is BIG.  REALLY BIG.  A little while ago I posted 11 separate numbers which all led back to the same recording.  I have enough information here--especially with all your postings--for us to NAIL them in a very successful class-action suit.

Below is my previous posting with the 11 numbers, and now I have added this one, too.  I just called it and got the SAME recording.

---------------------------

Okay, gang, I've hit the Mother Load!  Read below and be sure to copy these numbers.  I've called them all, and I'm registering complaints against them all:

The following numbers 760-526-8172, 201-210-6015, 818-870-5041, 763-392-5983, 508-534-1282, 978-570-2251, 603-214-3661, 213-363-5145, 702-520-1432, 702-520-1494, 916-219-8162, 954-692-7603, ALL reached the SAME message in the same recorded voice.  The message said:

"Thank you for calling.  We are sorry if we reached your number in error.  We only purchase and call business phone listings.  If you would like the number removed from our calling list, please press 1."

I called the first number (760-526-8172) without my phone being blocked.  When asked to press 1 to remove my number from their list, nothing registered; instead, the same message repeated as many times as I pressed 1.

I called all the other numbers I've listed here.  Each had different caller IDs and each had different area codes, BUT THE ALL LED TO THE SAME RECORDED MESSAGE!

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.  Companies HAVE to identify themselves, they HAVE to provide us (within no more than 30 days) their company's Do Not Call Policy, and they HAVE to allow us to opt out of future calls by telling them to put us on their company's Do Not Call List.  If they fail to do even ONE of these things, they are breaking the law and can be fined?per call!

Check out this info:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm
Read numbers 36-40 at the bottom of the page

http://www.callercomplaints.com/articles/Make500.aspx
"The Telephone Consumer Protection Act, passed by Congress in 1991, sets out precise rules for telemarketers to follow. For example, one of these rules says that they must maintain a written Do Not Call policy, which they are required to send you upon request. Another rule is that you may ask to be placed on the firm?s Do Not Call list.

"And here?s the clincher: if the company breaks either of these rules, or a whole host of others, they will owe you $500-$1500 per violation, which you can receive by filing a complaint in your local Small Claims Court.

"If the calls stop, then you?ve won (because they?ve stopped calling you)! But if they do not, or if you do not receive a copy of their policy, then? you?ve still won ($$$). Record every subsequent call?each one is worth $500 to you?then look up your local Small Claims Court, fill out the 10 minutes of paperwork (usually online), and file a claim."

Here's the info that will make you the happiest:  http://www.fcc.gov/eb/tcd/ufax.html
It's a list of heavy forfeitures being currently proposed.

Now you can take back your power and reclaim your peaceful existence!  Report calls from any of the numbers you have copied from above.  Call them to verify them for yourself, if you wish (dial *67 and hear a dial tone before you dial their number so that you can block your phone number from them).  I was told that even 3 complaints registered against any company with the FCC and/or the FTC would lead to its investigation.

I don't know how to start a class-action suit, but I will join in it if somebody knows how to get the ball rolling.

My call rang as a fax tone (probably because generated by a computer), so I didn't answer it.

Interestingly, I see that PhoneHunter37027 made a posting above on 7 Jul 2008 about this number (954-692-7603), and they told him/her that it was "Omega Services."

I got a call on 7/22/08 from 201-210-6015 and the caller ID said "OMEGA SVCS"  My caller ID for 954-692-7603 read "A SERVICES."

So if anybody gets a call from either "A SERVICES" or "OMEGA SVCS," report it.

FTC/Do Not Call Registry:  https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en#content

This may be of interest to people reading my posting.  We have both caller ID and "smart ring" on our phone service.  Apparently, any computer-generated call to our home phone/fax (same number) registers as a fax.  Since we keep our fax machine turned off unless we have just requested a specific fax, when we hear "ring-ring" instead of "ring," we don't pick it up.

With the caller ID, we are able to keep a log of the number, the caller ID (even if bogus), the date, and the time.  From what I have been reading, this should be enough evidence to incriminate them.

In any case, some of you may wish to get not only caller ID but also "smart ring."  Possibly EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FAX, a computer-generated (i.e., telemarketing) call may have a different ring from your normal phone ring, and that way you could just not answer it, then log the number, ID, date, and time so that you can register formal complaints.

All the better for the class-action suit we are all hoping for.  By the way, I don't know how to start one, but count me in if somebody wants to get the ball rolling!  I'll keep checking back here under this phone number.  And we can add the other "OMEGA SVCS" number (201-210-6015).

Ya, this is a scam call that's probably attempting to collect personal information. I recognize the person's voice from another call using the same method (except that call was about reducing my interest rate, and it also asked to press 1 to talk to a representative, and it was the same person calling. When I asked him what credit card this was regarding, he hung up. The caller ID for that call however only said 1).

Please report this number to the FTC at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

I traced down the number to a provder called Global Crossings. I contact Global Crossings and asked to speak with John B. McShane. I got his assistant. Explained the situation at hand and left them my phone number to call me back. While I dont know if anything will come of this they did seem concerned and assurted me that someone would get back with me. The name of the company that is registered to this DID is Omega Services.

I have received repeated phone calls from this number 954-692-7603 and caller id says it is from A Services.  I also have pushed 2 a bunch of times to have them stop calling.  They still call so this time I pushed one, today, July 7, 2008, and a woman answered asking for the make and model of my car.  I told her the reason I pushed one was because I have been pushing 2 and they still keep calling.  She said, have a nice day and hung up.

Got a message from the same number.  I recommend putting your phone number on the do not call list.  You can file a complaint if they call you.  The info is here: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/#howtocomplain

Just got one of these on my mobile number in Toledo (OH) at 5:03pm ET.  Doesn't seem to have gotten to our home number (yet).  They've called before and left their annoying message.  I'll gladly join a class-action against this bunch.

They keep calling me also, for months. Pressed "1" to speak to an associate, I yelled at them and they hung up. I recommend everyone start harassing them, press "1" and play along and ask if you can give them a credit card...then quickly curse them out. Maybe ask where you can send a check to so we can kick some a**. Childish? Yes...alternatively you can file a complaint with the FTC and wait a few years for the calls to stop. I tried to look them up, but to no avail. Based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Yes, these folks just won't stop calling with their "last call".  I don't think the "last call" ever actually happens.  I have tried to talk to the person on the line by asking for information and to talk to his supervisor, he immediately hangs up.  Very rude.  I also have pressed the number 1 to be removed from their list, I swear, it just makes them call more often.  If you do a class action lawsuit, please count me in.  Thanks

here is the skinny on this. first of all, i have been getting theses calls every day for 2 months. these calls are VERY illegal, for one they are using an autodialer, secondly they are calling my cell phone, and during illegal hours. that being said, we need to follow up on this and find a company name, and address for these guys. i have filed a complaint with the FTC (1-877-382-4357 in the southeast). my next course of action will be a class action telephone harrassment suit. If any one can help by supplying the name and/or address, it would be greatly appreciated. they have used a couple of different phone numbers in their attempt to bypass call blocking.

I seem to only be reiterating the point, beating an [almost] dead horse, etc etc, but I am also a victim of this tele-harassment if you will.  I tried looking up the number on Yellow Pages.com but to no avail (of course, they are unlisted).  I will keep trying to figure out a way to stop this company from wasting any more of my time.   My guess is that eventually this company will simply stop calling everyone at once, or they will simply change their gimmick and try to con us again.

These people keep on caling and leaving voice mails on my cell phone. They call at all kinds of hours. I do not know how to stop them, since you cannot call the number back, nor can you talk with a live person. When you answer their call, a computer voice starts out by saying that to stop the calls, press 1, which accomplishes exactly nothing. This has something to do with a bogus auto warranty. It has to be possible to stop this harrassment, wish I knew how.

I have had literally hundreds of calls from this number and am FED UP.  The so called "warranty" they say is about to expire does not exist.  I finally one night (9pm!!!) answered and hit 1 to speak to a rep.  They came on asking for the make, model and year of my car (shouldn't they know this if they say my warranty is about to expire??)  I told them to quit calling and they make a rude comment and hang up!

Just recieved a call from this number and it talks about reactivated my warranty, which of course doesn't exist. I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the number and figured it might be one of these, having recieved many of them from different numbers. The "system" left a message on my answering service.
