Its amazing how they can call you up, and all the worries and thoughts about your loved one might be in trouble, or you yourself having some kind of problems with the law. Get a 911 operator on the phone three times in a row by mistake, see how fast you will have problems with "The Law".
And we have to chalk it up to mistaken identities...
You need to check your problems and stop wasting our money.
A penny saved is a penny earned.
And the rest of the county employees would agree to save that penny instead of taking out of their checks, vacations, pension, holidays.
Y'all need to check your system...
Before the system checks you

Hang up when answering machine comes on, called back and recording said it was a non-working number
Mark 2011-06-06 21:08:10 Unknown
I have received three calls from 954-831-7000 and each time they hang up. Attempt to return the call and no such number. I tried a few digits off and landed at the Broward County Sheriffs office, when I explained the problem and calls they informed me there is nothing they can do or explain as the number is a general output number for the entire county. I was told to chalk it up as a mistaken identities... But three times in a row?

954-831-7000 is a number which is generated each time someone calls from the Broward County Courthouse. It comes up no mattter what department or area they call from. You cannot call this number back as it does not take calls. I spoke with the library and they too would generate such a number if they were to call someone. Seems it could be anyone from the courthouse. Why they did not leave a message is a mystery.

(954) 831-7000, phone number belongs to the Broward County, Law Library or anyone else there.
It's a VoIp number that can block incoming calls giving you the the following message when calling back, " Not in Service", but on the same token it allows them to make outgoing calls without being bothered if you decide to follow up.
Their real phone number is (954) 831-6226 and the person behind the desk is
Jean Underhill.
Calls from that number are most likely mistaken identities but not spam.

thats because your girl has a man in the broward county jail, ain't no automated service
Jen 2010-10-06 13:16:38 Unknown
It's not automated. It's what shows on called ID for every call from the Broward County Courthouse or jail no matter what department or line they call you from.
We do that at our company too. We have 30 lines but they all show the main number on caller ID even though that's not the number of the individual line we call you from. Difference is, you can call us back and that's why we use the main number.
Could be the public defender's office, could be the voter's office, could be anything at all in court/sheriff that called. I've also heard that the downtown library generates the same number.
Sorry it's not much help but it's not spam or automated.

Received a call from 954-831-7000. Left no message and when you try to call it back it goes to a funny busy signal.
virginia hamm 2008-07-23 13:08:53 Unknown
Caller Id indicted 954-831-7000...Broward County...left no message on the answering machine(how rude) and when you try to call back the recording says it is not an active number. What a total croc!!! If you cannot leave a message as to WHO you are trying to contact and WHO your real identity is. Don't bother calling. My number is on the Do Not Call National Registry.
