I am a law enforcement officer and have tried to determine where these calls are originating.  We had a similar incident in my jurisdiction and have also spoken with "Charles Green".  He is very rude and is hard to understand due to his mideastern accent.  I have notified the US Secret Service of the possible scam.  The area code is from Hollywood Florida and I have notified local law enforcement there as well...

I would recommend not communicating with the caller and notify your local law enforcement.

This is the number left on my answering machine telling me to call or have my attorney call or something bad will happen. When I called the number, they informed me that they will file 3 criminal charges on me by end of the business day. I mentioned the word scam and got hung up on. Watch out for this company calling themselves "LLC Law Office".

The same story for me. Except for the fact that the number is 315-283-5025. I to got "Charles Green" with a heavy accent, lots of backround noise, and not giving me any information that I ask. I had already given another "company" Sanders Law Firm $700. This group is also a scam group for cash stores. Call your local law enforcement, do not give out any information, and call your bank pronto.

this people called me saying everything that's been said about them. I was so confused cuz at the time I went for a loan but did not go all the way with it and thought for a sec I did do somthing wrong but when I talked to my friends mom she said don't belive them and told me somthing like this was on date line and every thing she said they were saying and what everyone has said on this comment forum. thank u eveyone who posted there story with them. cuz till now I used to still have a feeling it was true.

I have submitted a complaint to the FTC and am about to submit to the FCC.  These individuals are ridiculous, it is illegal for them to claim they are law enforcement.  These tactics are disgusting.  Yes, I am in debt. And yes, I am currently going through a bankruptcy, and with the help of my lawyer I have fully researched how debt collectors can and CAN NOT behave.  This behaviour is illegal.  I knew this time would be difficult as I take the steps to reclaim my credit score, but holy hell...these people are OUT OF CONTROL!!!

Here is what I sent to the FTC:

This individual has an incredibly thick accent. There is a great deal of background noise.  He introduced himself as a police officer, I asked him which department he said LLC Law Offices.  I asked him which police department and for what jurisdiction? He again stated LLC Law Offices and if I didn't pay today by 4pm, I was going to jail. I asked him for what, he said because I owe money. I told him that you can not arrest a person for a debt. He then stated that I was going to jail for check fraud, I told him I wanted proof of the debt mailed to me, and then I asked him for his adress so that I could send a "cease and desist" letter as I did not take these types of calls at my place of business.  He said no, then called me an expletive.  I again stated that I wanted verification of the debt mailed to me and I would not give any information over the telephone. He then told me he had all of my personal information and could send the police to me right now to get me.  He became angry because I laughed and told him he was being ridiculous, he then said F*&^ You. And hung up.  I tried to call back, but no answer.

I got a call too from Officer Meyers.... luckily I had done my research on this phone number and knew the issue with this number. I have reported them to both the FTC and the FCC. Dont fall for the scam!

I'm curious to know why these people would use names like John Smith, Curt Wagnor and John Meyers when its apparent their names are Abdul Pruduxvbdhbdhd!  Give me a break!

Some man named John Smith called me from some company called LLC Law Firm, he stated that I better call him by the close of business today or have my attorney call him if I did not then God help me. He stated that I was being charged with 3 crimes but never said what they were. He told me that once again he was warning me and that I needed to call him ASAP. First of all I could hardly understand him because of his strong accent. This person called me yesterday as well saying the same thing. The difference is he said that my friend William King would be arrested as well. He started to say some other name but then said oh well God help you and God bless you.

I received a call from this number (9540949-0517) on Monday 10/26.  The male I spoke to had a thick middle eastern accent.  He never disclosed his name nor the company he was calling from.  He threatened me with 3 charges, the only one he gave the name of was collateral check fraud, and advised me that I was going to be arrested at work on Wed 10/28. He said a loan deposit was made into my account on 9/4/07 and when the company tried to withdrawal the funds to collect payment it was denied.  When I asked him for specifics (deposited amount, where it came from...) he was unable to provide them for me and just continued to say that I would be arrested.  I asked which county, he said he didn't know.  I told him I didn't understand and then he said there was no point in continuing the conversation since I didn't understand.  He told me I was irritating him.  He never asked me to pay anything over the phone but had all of my information; parents names, address, place of employment, bank acct/routing numbers, last 4 of my social.  Again, he continued repeating that I would be arrested and at the end of the call he wished my luck and said "God Bless"  Hopefully we can stop these people!!!!

These people my job and stated that I would be arrested tomorrow if I did not call this number and ask for Steven Knox.   When I called the person had a heavy accent and told me I owed Advance America Cash Advance and I would be picked up tomorrow and taken to court.   He also asked for my attorney information which I did not give.  I called Advance America and they had not idea who called but said that they have had several complaints about this number.  I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau and they also have received several complaints.  Hopefully they will find out who is call and stop them.

I have received the same type of threatening calls. Please contact all local and federal government authorities to report these illegal activities. Do not pay them any money. Also contact your local police department.

Same thing threatening calls, heavy accent and a lot of background noise. First call on Friday and second call on Monday. Second message "Officer John Meyers" of the investigation department said he will see me in court and make sure I spend Christmas and New Years behind bars and I would be arrested at 5:00 p.m. that day. I was out of town at a memorial service for my son-in-law killed in Afghanistan so I returned the call on Tuesday. The man I spoke to Curt Wagoner said I owed money and it must be paid today by 4:00 p.m. or I was going to jail, I would be arrested on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Feeling very vulnerable at the time, I started to fall for the scam and started to panic. I then made a few phone calls to the Attorney General, FTC and others, realized that these people are scam artists! They must be stopped! Oh, and by the way when I questioned Curt about the company he stated they operated in all 52 states in the United States and also in Atlanta. 52 states???? Atlanta??? Where is this company? Not in the United States of America. I'm certainly glad my son-in-law did not give his life for these idiots.

I received a voicmail this morning from the same phone number from a Lisa Jackson, very poor english, also threatening me with jail time if I didn't pay $950.00 by 3pm today on a pre-paid card they also wanted a letter with all my information, and would not tell me who I owed or what the company was all he said was that it was for Advance Americas as Advance, and that they handled over 300 paydayloan sites, and he did not have the name of who I owed. He also talked very fast and would not give me any information on his company except that it was AMG, LLC Law Firm. I have reported them to the FTC, and confirmed that no one can go to jail for defaulting on a loan. I have also closed my bank account as they have all of my information. BE CAREFUL OF THIS COMPANY.

i have been getting calls for this number and a another one and they told me that i was going to go to jail and all the other crap that you all have been dealing with. go to http://tips.fbi.gov and file a complaint, it is fraud a scam and i know i filed my claim tonight and i was called by  the FBI with in 30 minutes of my claim and they told me it was all a fraud and that they are from india and they are out side the usa so file and then dont worry about it any more and make sure to file where ever the FBI tells you too. i hope this feed helps every one else

I got several calls last year from these people.  The calls stopped when I started calling THEM everyday and harrassing them for a week.  Well, guess what?  The calls have started back.  The most recent being today at 11:33am from "Officer John Meyers".  I returned the call and listened to his script about me being arrested along with my employer tomorrow morning at 11am if I dont take care of the 3 criminal cases against me.  I listened until I couldn't hold the laughter in anymore.  At this point I started howling with laughter into the phone.  He got frustrated and screamed that it was no laughing matter to no avail.  I was already in tears by that time so he hung up on me.  I guess I'll give him a call tomorrow afternoon and let them know that I waited for them in my Sunday best but the officers never showed up.  What is interesting to me is that the number that shows up on my caller ID is 678-365-0321 but the number he left as his call back was 954-949-0517.  I guess they've learned how to spoof a local number to try to get you to answer.

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

I just received a message from my work phone from an indian guy by the name of Charles Green stating if I don't call him back right away or have my attorney call him back the "situation will fall on me" ....then he stated i wish you the best of luck... and god bless.

The same thing just happened to me!  A message was left on my voicemail and also my sisters, threatening to arrest me in two days, have me picked up at my employers.  A woman named Stella left the message.  When I called back, Brad answered the phone.  A lot of background noise, they were foreign and hard to understand.  He told me I needed to pay $1,250 by 6pm (it was 5:30pm).  He stated I needed to fax him a notarized letter to 317-849-3117 with the credit card info.  He had my ss# and address.  He couldn't give me an exact amount I supposedl owed or give me the name of the creditor.  He said the debt was from Sept 2007.  I knew this was not right, but with threat of jail, I immediately freaked out.  Do not fall for this.  I am reporting this to the BBB immediately and also filing a police report.

Same phone call heavy accent stating I have 3 crimmals charges very noisy back ground couldnt understand what he was saying never told me what the charges was stated that I will be arrested monday at 11am he said his name was John Myers and when I tried to call back the mailbox was full when I finally talk with someone he said another name and I will be pick up from my employment and my God Bless you the call was made on Oct 28.09

I got the same phone call. A "Lee Jackson" who sounded very foreign. A lawsuit was going to be filed against me. She wanted my lawyer's name and information. I asked her what it was regarding and she said "You don't know anything about this legal action?" My response was, "No." She wanted to transfer me to her supervisor when I questioned it. I told her that I was at work and had to get off the phone. I also requested her not to call me at work. She gave me this number 954 949-0517 and her name to call back. Obviously, there is some major scamming going on after reading this. I will not be returning their call.

When I called 411 to find out were the 954 area code is at she told me Fort Lauderdale, Fl.  They must be in several places because I see that someone said they were LLC in California????  Would love to find out where they are located at, perhaps if there is a place of business, it can be busted down and the rats will take of running!  LOL...I prey that other Americans are fast to acknowledge this is a full scam and the treats are exactly that, just threats to intimidate and manipulate.

Same thing as everyone.  I got a vm from them, generally I never call back but this time I did.  I got a Brad and when I asked him questions he got very hostile and humg up.  Want to play this game with me?  So I kept calling back(5 times) he even called me a F*** Bi***.  One last call, it rang and rang, I got a Charles and acted like my sister, telling him that she was in the hospital and I am her POA taking care of things.  He began yelling at me, and threating to have "her" arrested no matter where she was at, even in the hospital (I began laughing cause it was funny).  I never did find out what this was about.  But in reading everyone elses, most states ban payday loan companies and debt collectors from threatening criminal charges for a defaulted payday or loan.  Defaulting on a payday loan or any other loan is not a criminal charge.  At best it is a small claims or civil action that takes place in court where the person lives.  And they cannot get any money from a garnishment without taking a consumer to court.  So I believe this is a huge scam to scare Americans into paying money some way.  I wonder how many people they have acutally scammed and how much money they have collected under these false pretences?  It really is sad to think that some "American" opened a business using others that barely speak English just to scam their own.  And if it is not an American owned company, how foolish of our Government or the State of Florida to allow someone from outside the country to enter our land and scam us!  We've been through enough lately!

Caller id  954-949-0517  Persons name was Michael.  Very hostile.

I got a call from these people.  His name was Michael.  Saying I owe a payday loan from back in 2007, and that I owed them $950.00, and was yelling into my phone that I was gonna be arrested Thursday morning, and loose my job, if i did not pay them the $950.  from Cash Advance America.  I called the company to verify some law firm they call themselves, L.L.C Law of Calif.  I said to them, I do now owe $950.00.  The original amount of the payday loan was $300.00,  I contacted Cash Advance America, and they said they never refered my account to any attorney, that I only owed them $200. because I had been paying on my loan.  They say, this michael in a very hostile voice, that I need an attorney, to get him because I was going to jail.  They were sending the cops to my home to arrest me.  I'm planning to file a police report on them this week.  They are scammers.  They called my job, making treats to get me fired.
