I listened in on a call from this number and (2) people were involved in the call, Tammy and Char.  When my friend, who they called on her cell phone, asked for proof in writing or a website or for them to send her the contract outlining terms for the health ins coverage, they got VERY defensive.  They were unable to provide any information and ended up telling her that she was going to miss out on a very good deal with limited enrollment unless she agreed to pay RIGHT NOW via a credit card.  She asked for an address and offered to mail a check, they said it was not an option.  It sounded too good to be true - I'm SURE is was a scam!!

I just got a call from a very smooth, fast talking GUY named Shelly this morning - in response to a n internet
request for medical insurance quotes in New York.

It felt pressured and too good to be true ....he got testy when I asked for information so I could do due
diligence on Health Service Providers.  He wanted immediate automatic withdrawal from my bank account to secure the insurance "the rate changes hourly and your state may close in minute."

My husband got this insurance.  We have had it for 3 months, and I can't find a doctor, who will take the insurance.   I called the insurance company and they have been giving me the go around.  I said I wanted to cancel and a man got on the phone and prosmised me he would find me a doctor.  I haven't heard from the insurance man since....Tomorrow will be 48 hrs.  If he doesnt get back with me and have a doctor, I will have to cancel.    Also I tried to use the insurance for meds.   The 4 dollar generic plan is much better.

I have read several of the posts here and I felt I should go on here and add some unbiased truth for those confused.
1. IAB(international association of benefits), CHBA, HSP(health service providers) and Homeland Health, US Benefits Group, etc...ARE NOT HEALTH INSURANCE- THEY ARE NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR HEALTH INSURANCE.
These companies are what you call DISCOUNT HEALTH PLANS. Just as the name implies- they will offer discounts to CERTAIN  providers for your care. They dont ever make payments to your providers and the only actual insurance is for accidents ect...
2. 2014 is the projected date for the 'Obama Plan'- THERE IS NO EXISTING OBAMA PLAN.
3.If you are not currently insured and have diabetes, cancer, TB etc- you will not qualify for a major medical insurance policy.NO INSURANCE COMPANY EXCEPTS ANY AND ALL PREX- ESPECIALLY WITH OUT A CCC (CERTIFICATE OF CREDIABLE COVERAGE)
4. Insurance rates are skyrocketing- your best bst for cheap coverage is going into a group.
5.If you go onto websites, you will get callled by several companies trying to sell you insurance- or discount plan.
6.DO NOT CALL ANY INSURANCE COMPANY AND ASK THEM TO 'SEND ME SOMETHING'- THEY WILL NOT DO IT. MOST BROCURES ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE. INSURANCE IS A BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY- THEY DONT NEED YOUR BUSINESS- THEY WILL NOT SPEND MONEY TO MAIL A BROCURE TO YOU. (Sad but true)
7. All insurance polices are pretty much the same.- Prices are fixed. And it is based on two things- What you qualify for and what you can afford- nothing more than that.
8.If you really want to compare prices (plans are pretty much the same with every insurance company) call a broker- if you need a reputable one please feel free to contact me.

If you have any other questions please contact me:  iris1060@yahoo.com.

I applied online for a quote. ehealthinsurance is great it was a different site that was a problem where i submitted a phone number. FYI all insurance plans are the same price for individuals if you use a broker or not. I was told that I could get health insurance at a much cheaper rate that what I had been researching. I was very excited however it sounded too good to be true. It was a not for profit group plan for a company that does not sell individual plans in my state. It sounded very legitimate except that they would not send any information but that they worked directly with the state and it was done this way for 27 years and they can only offer it to a select number of people and because i requested info in the last 2 days only that I could take advantage of this offer. The plan was not very descriptive. Kerry game me a number to call back the same 877 number which I was surprised as most scams make you decide on the phone before calling back. I am glad I looked up this number before getting scammed. ehealthinsurance is nice because you get quotes without any phone numbers or e-mail provided.

notice how every comment on here says i got a call and it must be a scam because i saw that someone else said they thought it was a scame. are you all brainless idiots?? NOT ONE COMPLAINT ON HERE is from someone who actually owned the plan. Not one person on here said they actually got scammed?!?! I know a friend who owns this plan and it literally saved her life.

You all are on a witch hunt. Get a life. If you go online requesting info on healthcare and then someone calls you, that doesnt make it a scam. You requested the info moron. I work for the state and know they do limit what kind info non profits can mail out. Not mailing out info does not equal scam.

I have been searching for a new medical plan and surfed the net to see what was out there.  I vaguely remembered giving one or more of the contacts my email and phone number.

I was just sitting here balancing my checkbook when I got a call from 954-973-6214.  Since I did not recognize the number, I did not answer.  Instead, I plugged the number into Google and found you all.

I would like to thank whoever set up this site.  You just saved me from a scam.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Non-profit Organization
I had gone online trying to find an individual policy for a new employee who is over 64 and a non-citizen.  This company calls me and even though I'm not authorized to make decisions for my company he kept trying to pressure me into signing up for it.  I asked for a hard copy of the list of benefits and prices and he refused.  Kept telling me I'd get them when I signed up.  Well, no deal.  I want something in my hand outlining what I'm getting and how much before I agree to anything.  Very fishy that they want you to sign up right then and there without providing you information on what you're buying.  The $54/month cost was a little too good to be true too for medical, dental, vision, and prescription.

Got a call from them, they said they were a Health PLAN (emphasis on the plan part) and that it was non-profit (which is how the prices could be so low) and I was about to go through with it (even got down to giving my creditcard number) and then looked them up on the computer and realized that everyone was saying this number was a SCAM. If it was on the up and up I am sure there wouldn't be quite so many people writing about how it was a scam. So I canceled, hung up, and put a stop to any charges on my mastercard.

I recieved a call from them after searching for Health Ins. I spoke with the director of operations on the fact that they do not offer mannuels or paper work to non-members since they work as a non profit organization. She gave me a website to look at because I informed her that I was weary about signing on without paperwork in front of me. The website was www.ourchba.com. Also they gave me personal names, extentions and phone numbers willingly with all sorts of information on what their health plan offers, as far as doctors visits go, prescriptions, dental, and vision. Yes I am leary about paying something over the phone. However...nothing lost nothing gained. I just wanted to let people know that I was able to get an abundance of information. The sales Rep was not preseauring me in any way. I asked to discuss the information with my husband and he said not a problem. Gave his name number and extention.

I got a call after I went on line looking for Health insurance The Lady I talked to is Lisa she told me that insurance for my self and my son would cost 249.00 to start well I work in a nursing home so I do not have that kind of money it has to be saved up for, and then she offered me a 99.00 policy a month and I could bump it up after the first month and then you would not have the start up fee ( this was for medical vision dental and perscription) and wants you to make a dession right now will not send you anything through the mail I like to look over things before I sign and them or someone gets my money, she told that it is perfectly legal to do this over the phone I work 3rd shift so I am not awake until late in the afternoon since Thursday May 15, 2009 she has been calling non stop.  And now it has went to an unknown number she is calling from it came up on the caller ID unknown on the answering machine it was her.  Oh yea also she can do check by phone and trying to get you not to think about it the only day she didn't call was Sunday maybe she had to go to confession.  Scam defintely. I received a call from this number saying I had applied to be a sales agent for them. I did not, at least not on purpose. I think they just went out and grabbed mt resume off of hotjobs and set me up for an interview at teh speed of light. I was intitally confused because I had recently applied for a sales job in the same physical area but not to sell insurance. The E-mail address from the person who contacted me is a "parked" domain, whatever that means. The phone number above is not in yellowpages.com.

I went online looking for affordable health insurance.  One site offered quotes from brokers, so I requested more info.  Someone from Health Service Providers called and gave me a high pressure sales pitch!  Sign up today or you'll miss out. . . I can't let you pass up this kind of deal. . . we're only offering this to our SPECIAL customers. . . we're affiliated with non-profit Karis Group and that's how we get such low rates.  It had to be a SCAM - no contract, nothing in writing, no website, won't send any literature - why not?  If it was a legitimate offer, you'd think they would be happy to give you ALL the information.

I suspect it is a SCAM.  I received a call on 3/5/09, from Tammy at Health Service Providers.  She wanted me to pay the premium but would not provide any written contract, information or tax ID number for their "non-profit" business.  She also had no website to refer me to for additional information. She claimed to be affiliated with the KARIS Group, and said they are based in NY.  Further research of the group shows that they are based in Austin, TX.  I have in inquiry into them asking if they are at all connected with HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS. . . I suspect it will be a dead end!  When I asked Tammy for a # to call her back, she hesitantly gave me one.  I tried to call back and the phone number rings 4 times and automatically disconnects!  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!
