And, by the way, the FCC has enabled this sort of fraud by disassociating phone numbers from actual geography.  No phone number can be relied upon as being tied to a particular location, and the FCC generally permits the use of "spoofed" phone numbers:  fake numbers generated solely for use on Caller ID.  Less than ethical carriers (usually of the small independent CLEC variety) buy large blocks of phone numbers, and then use them just for the purpose of handing off calls on the called party end of things for some other unethical carrier on the calling party end.  The FCC calls this "competition."

I called the National Assoc. for Gun Rights.  I was told they do not do any phone calls:  they use mail and email only.  I found no other group using the moniker "National Gun Rights."  I suspect this is a total scam.  

Caller ID says "National Gun Rights 970-236-1219."  They call every day of the week, at least once, often up to 4 times.  If I answer, no matter how nicely, they say nothing, and then hang up after about 45 seconds.  If I don't answer, they don't leave a message.

This number is a false ID. It's very possible it may be coming from one of the prank call services you can do by phone. I have noticed that the voice is computer controlled - talk to enough of them and there are subtle ways to tell. I honestly think such services are completely unethical and should be shut down, but be warned regardless that this number is a target from prank calls, and most likely not a legitimate telemarketing number. If you were to call investigating any of said companies, they could legitimately lie because each caller is kept anonymous.

Got 3 calls from this number already,  I am also on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.  Funny thing is the one time I picked up the phone a recording was playing; saying they were calling to make sure they verified my number and they were calling for birth defects.  This was a taped recording and then it hung up.  I didnot return the call because we had been warned here, that someone is calling to get you to call back so they can use your phone number to bill things to.  I am reporting to the authorities and blocking this number.  SO ANNOYED!  These people need to get a real life.  Ironic they are using the caller ID of Natl Gun Rights.  There are some real creepy nuts out there!.

I'm on a do-not-call-registry, but keep getting calls to my cell phone from this number, almost daily. Until today, I did not answer, but today when I did, after a few seconds a man came on from his end and asked for two different individuals, neither of which was me. I asked him to remove me from his calling list. He said he would. I didn't ask him his name or who he represents.

I keep getting rings from this and other similar numbers in Colorado. I don't answer. My number is supposedly listed as a do-not-call...

Some prick from the national association for gun rights. Started spewing crap about a tyrannical government then hung up when I argued with him. I'm on the do not call list and I doubt this counts as a political call.

I read on another site that this is a "spoofed" number. It's NOT from Aspen, CO, as is indicated in caller ID.

Called me on a Sunday, of all things. They hung up as soon as the answering machine kicked in. Not helping your cause, guys.

Caller ID said "NATL GUN RIGHTS".  I did a pickup/hangup.
