I got called by the scammers today june 6 2014
The "Indian" guy said he was from the Microsoft office service center

The caller called on my home number (fixed line)
The caller knew my name
Caller Phone number as it was visible on my phone display: 0015124539341
When calling this number you get the message: not equipped to receive calls

What happened:
Well I kept asking questions about where he got my name from. (my gues is from the phonebook)
Their first answer (I could understand...) was i registered myself with this number (haha funny).
Then I explained I did not. That was followed by a long silence..... After 3 time saying "hello" I disconnected the line myself.

Man, the scammers are busy today.  Another fake computer tech calling looking to get my personal info.  I hope it costs them money to call us and get told their losers. ha

I got a call from 972-453-9824 - PAYPHONE.
Indian accented guy wanted to know details of the owner of my phone number.

I got the call at 5 am this morning but called id picked up so they hung up

Ignore it, it is a scam

It seems like a whole lot of people think that it is a scam, and the guy that called sounded like he was from Bangladesh and talked with a mouth full of s***, He would not identify his company, just tech support, So that makes you a shill for a scam. BTW he could not identify which of my machines or what OS I was using; if you are not a scam then you are just s****y at what you do.

Got a call from "Peter" who claimed he was my computer technician and that they had noticed that my computer had issues. I'm familiar with this tech support scam, so didn't waste time talking to him.

My Caller ID  shows "PAYPHONE". I heard someone breathing then all they said was "good bye" then hung up. At 12:22 am Pissed me off! They called 15 time in one day!

I received a call from this number at  about 8:37 am today.  Caller ID was "Payphone."  I said "Hello" and nothing more.  There was silence on the other end gor about 30 seconds, then a disconnect.  Now they know this is a live number.

This number keeps calling

We have been receiving these calls for almost a year at my university office.  They always ask for a specific person, and hang up when you say s/he doesn't work here.  Often we get 5-6 of these calls a day.  They NEVER say who they are, ask for any other information, try to sell anything, etc--calls seem purposeless.  However--when pushed on the issue of "remove this number from your list", this morning they escalated to obscenity.  The police have been called and it was the officer who found this site.

I got this call 4/8/2013.  They hung up as I answered the phone. Why do they do that? All I know is that my caller I.D. said it was a payphone.  I heard that their are gang scammers doing things like this. They all want what doesn't belong to them. Don't pick up for #414-877-1394 either. Another scammer. They just called me and hung up also. This # in MilWalke( forgive my spelling) Wisconsin. I called them back but the operator said it was disconnected or no longer in service.  Another scam is a caller who asks if your looking for Insurance. Company he says is called Companion Life from Blue Cross and Shield. His (Les is what he said his name was) number he called me from is 732-743-8600 . This is a scammer.  Also gave me a # which to cancel 855-545-8900. Both are unlisted and they are both a mobil phone.

got a call from this number just before midnight. Really appreciated it since I get up at 6 am! No one said anything on the other end! Some people have way too much time on their hands.

Said the same thing on my caller ID. It sounded like someone with a Jamaican accent calling from a bar. I could hear people and glasses clinking in the background.

Received a call first from 972-453-9824, declined it as I did not know who it was and I don't answer unknown calls.  Right away, received a call with a blocked #.  No messages left.  Called back the 972 #, no answer.

Just received a call from this number Caller ID shows Pay Phone, did not answer they did not leave a msg so it must not be an important call just someone who has nothing else to do.  They might as well quit calling our number as we will not answer, we have more important things to do, they will not get an answer

This number just called me in The Netherlands. When I picked up the phone and said Hello in English they hung up.. I think they where expecting a Dutch greeting as I am in Holland but I saw it was a USA number so I answered with a Hello.

I have 2 lines coming into my office they both rang at the same time indicating the call was from a payphone (first phone 718-758-9741 New York City area code - second phone 972-453-9824 Dallas Texas area code). When I answered one of the phones I could barely understand the man because of the foreign accent. I asked to speak to someone who could speak clear english and got another man with a foreign accent. In questioning them they stated that they were from Microsoft and making a service call, that my computer had been receiving error and warning messages. They said they could show me if I would turn on my computer. I asked them for a number where I could call them back (302-434-5448) and I asked where that location was they said Delaware (which is the area code 302).

I got a call this afternoon from this number, it showed up as payphone in the id. A Middle Eastern man told me he was from windows and that there was a problem with our computer and our personal info was being spread across the internet. When he asked if we were aware of this I told him yes, we had recently had a virus on our computer, so one the off chance that this guy was who he said he was I thought he may be refering to this. He seemed surprised at this answer. He then asked what we had done I told him I wasn't sure what my parents had done. After hearing my response this guy must have peiced that I wasn't an adult, then that bum proceeded to ask me how old I was, if I had a boyfriend, and if I was on facebook. I told him that that was personal information and I wasn't going to tell him. Then I hung up on him. It left me pretty shaken up, and I went to a friends house because my parents weren't home at the time and I didn't know if the guy was going look up my address, and well...use your imagination for what a creepy guy may do to a girl. What kind of bum, scammer or not, does this?!

I am in USA. I just got a text from 1 972 XXX XXXX...not the # in question. It stated the person's name, a hyphen, and a message..."Hi honey..if you get this, call me." I called back and got a voice mail (the # is not known, the voice is) to a person in Canada. I don't know if I intercepted someone sending them a text or if they were texting me, however, we are currently not on terms that they would send me that message and they say they don't have a cell. Make sense? Hope so cuz it doesn't to me!

Received a call from "Windows" telling my computer had corrupt files.  All I had to do was turn on my computer and follow his instructions.  I would only be charged if there was a problem....REALLY??  I asked where he was calling from and he told me India.  I told him to have a Canadian call me and perhaps I might be interested in 'fixing' my computer.  He hung up.

Called and left a message repeatedly saying "hello". We have these 'fake' Microsoft calls here often.

Thanks for the heads up on this phone number. They called me today but I didn't answer it and I'm happy abut knowing I missed this call.
