Received a call from this number with the name STATE TROOPER at 8:00p at night. No one answered the line when I picked up, and upon calling the number back, it states that this number doesn't exist.

The phone rang twice, I picked it up and said hello, and the caller hung up. I dialed the # that showed on the ID and was told the number is invalid. This 10/1 at 12:50 noon, is the second time for this to happen.

Called ID showed "State Troopers" I think this may be a telephone solicitor for the State Troopers Association -- they have called me every quarter for a couple of years, despite being told every time to remove our number from their list.  They did not leave a message.

Got a call from this # at 2:24pm in the afternoon with the name "Oden, Lola". When I said hello, I was immediately disconnected. I did not try to call the # back.

972-530-9013 showed on the caller id....  At 3:50pm (central time).... The man stated in was calling on behalf of the State Troopers, I cut him off and told him that he dailed a business, and we do not make donations....Thank you, Good Bye...

Call came 9/20/07 @ 8:14PM. Caller ID: State Troopers. Caller was polite, stated something to effect of asking for donations for some organization having to do w/State Troopers. Stated I couldn't give, he said thanks & hung up.

Called around 3:00 PM, picked up the phone and the line went dead.  Don't know if they hung up or maybe checking to see if someone answered the phone.

I received this call for the first time last pm and no one said anything when I answered. That was disturbing.  What are they searching for?  Did someone just want to know if I was home or not?  The next day I tried to call the number and received a voice message that it's not a valid number.  That was even more disturbing.  I won't be answering it again, but I have reported the number to as many places, people, and legitimate entities as possible. I would suggest to anyone to do the same if or when they see it.

Got a call from these low life's today. Told the guy it's a business line and not to call again and he got all childish and mimicked me then hung up. If the TSTA really does condone these rude, low life telemarketers begging for money, then I sure as heck don't want to donate to that association.

CALLS ALL THE TIME ALL HOURS OF THE DAY MONDAY THRU SUNDAY.  I HAVE NEVER ANSWERED IT BUT AM TIRED OF THE CALLS DURING DINNER OR AFTER CHURCH WHEN WE ARE ALL TOGETHER AS A FAMILY!

Just received a call from this number. We used to get them all the time, but have not received one for about two years now. Two years ago, I listened to their plea for donations and I asked them to call me back the next day. I called down to Austin and was told that they are NOT part of the DPS. When they called the next day, I asked them if I gave them a donation, what percentage actually was given to the state troopers and how much they actually kept as their fee for fundraising. The guy said he was "pretty sure" that almost all of it went to the troopers. I then asked him to mail me a letter stating the actual percentage amounts and then I would be happy to make a donation. He kept at me about how much could he put me down for while the letter was on the way. I told him letter first and then we would discuss an amount. Needless to say, a letter never arrived and the calls stopped, until today. Watch out for some of these supposed fund-raisers! Out of a $20.00 donation, $1.50 might make it to the organization that is represented and the other $18.50 ends up in the "fund-raisers" pocket as an "administration" fee.

A SLIMEBALL CALLING FOR DONATIONS.... THAT MAKES GREAT SENSE ARE YOU AN EDUCATED MAN. I AM ASSUMING NOT!

Saw on caller id at 3:49 PM on aug 30 "State Troopers."  No message left.  I assumed it was a slimeball wanting donations for some police-related activity.  I live in Dallas area.

Just received a call from "State Troopers." I didn't answer, I figured it must be some scam, or some marketing firm using a name that would have an air of urgency about it to compel an immediate answer. I figured they were not legitimate "state troopers" because no state/municipality was associated with them. Legitimate state troopers are funded by state taxpayers, and would identify themselves as "Texas State Troopers" for example. If they said "State" and were not associated with the state they could be fined and/or jail for fraud. They were careful not to mention that they were with the state to avoid legal problems. But the idea I guess is that YOU would ASSUME it was the state, and therefore legimate. I've had calls where someone, or persons were do determined to make me answer (I only answer to people I know)that they called from a hospital pay phone. It didn't work. I called all family members just to check. The calls kept coming for about a week. I live only 3 miles miles from the hospital, so if the callers were legitmate and that desparate they would know who I am and where I live, or would have called friends/family. Watch out for "legitimate SOUNDING names." it's just another cheap trick!

Called on Aug 24 at 3:31 pm. Caller ID "State Troopers". Male voice.
wanted to sign up for donation for "state troopers against drunk drivers"
I told him to send me the information in the mail-he told me my address.
Then I agreed to pledge $20 and he had me either say my name and amt while he "recorded" it.
When I hung up, I realized it was a scam and now am wondering how he will "scam" me--???   My son was on the road in a new truck and when I saw the caller ID, I panicked thinking he had been in an accident--otherwise I don't think I would have fallen for it.
I called reverse phone lookup and it gave this number as a land phone from Plano, TX by Verizon.  Otherwise no other identification

Received same call. State Troopers. No one was on the line when I answered the phone. This type of ID is scary when you have teenaged drivers.

Received call with caller ID noting call from 972-530-9013 as "State Troopers".  My nephew is a detective with a nearby county and I think I remember him saying that police departments and Texas State Troopers DO NOT solicit contributions over the phone.  So,,,,beware of any calls from this phone number.  I will be checking on this issue a little further.
