Had the exact same situation, however I have not emailed the person. Just told me to email them as they are unable to text while at work. No thanks. Scam for sure.

Same situation, but the phone number was 1-914-267-8817. I got a text asking to email florenza.timothy002@gmail.com.

Her email read as follows:

Hello ,
I am 30 years old non smoker lady coming to Canada on work purpose. I  work as chef on cruise ship at the moment and i have limited time to surf the internet and also phone calls is also strictly limited due to nature of my work. I will like you to make the arrangement for the total cost covering my first six months rent together with security deposit. I will also like you to get back to me with your full home address for me to forward it to my mover to calculate the total cost of moving my little stuffs to Canada.

I also got a message from 973-657-6597 wanting to know if my apartment or room was still for rent on Kijiji. Right away I knew it was a scam because I am actually advertising rental for my house. So I knew something was up when this person was inquiring about an apartment or room. They wanted me to reply to florenza.timothy002@gmail.com via email. I asked them to call me because it was much easier than to go back and forth on email. They did not reply again.

I got a text message from 973-657-6597 responding to my Kijiji ad about a rental suite. She asked to reply via e-mail at florenza.timothy002@gmail.com

I got the same text message from this number this morning. She's responding from my Kijiji ad  about the suite available for rent. I'm glad I looked this number up. Thank you all for the heads-up.

Same exact number and same story, OMG, what are they planning, good that I did not click the link, anybody knows what would happen if someone click that link?

Thanks for posting the messages.  I was almost going to send her my address and house photos.  She wrote the following.

Yes, this is absolutely a scam. I just got an email and a text from this same person, same story. Do not respond.

this person claimed to be looking for a room via Kijiji ad.
she did not directly reply via Kijiji ad but rather txt my number and had me contact her through the following email...

she stated that she was on a ship but somehow managed to call from this land-line listed above. (????)
a few short email replies deducted that this person is surfin' Kijiji to scam for pay-pal scams.
even sent a copy of her passport - which most know, is never volunteered.

my opinion - this is a scam number.
