I have been getting those calls as well. Last year it was from India and said I have committed a crime and he was calling from American Legal Services and he had my social security number. he said He will have me arrested. I yelled at him and hung up. The number was listed in Galveston Texas. They just get a phone number. Now I have been getting calls from some one wanting to take my statements. Then I never called them back so they have left messaged pretending to be the deputy of my county. Threatening to arrest me if I don't call them back. Calling me on my cell phone. It is so annoying. I called the local police and they said just hang up because they can not do anything since they are out of the country. I think it is a gang and they have people who live in this country and know what county you live in and everything. But the call is made from a local number or 800 number, but when I used the *67 to call them back they did not answer. I am reporting this to FBI. Do not fall for this trap and never send any money. Report it to FBI.

Please do not worry! They cannot arrest you for a debt! Plus, there is no such department as the Federal Crime Commission! They are frauds! The next time they call tell them that you are going to file a police report against them! Then, you are going to report them to the FBI and Federal Trade Commission and you State Attorney General! Today, I received a call from, what he said, was David Williams, from the law firm of David White, District Court in NY.  Schenectady, NY. came up on my caller ID. Phone #518-557-3412. He said I was going to be arrested for not paying a debt.  He kept mentioning my FICA Score & Credit Score & said I did something intentionally.  He mentioned FCI-Federal Crime Investigation.  I have no clue what he is talking about.  I am a Christian & would not break the law.  Please help me.  I'm scared to death.

I just received a call today from this same jerk named Robin Garcia phone number 206-259-6387 talking about I have all sorts of charges against me also these people are creeps and it's a shame how they get our personal info off line and use it to harass us THEY ARE SCAMMERS

they are now calling from a 919-746-7923 number saying there is a legal matter and so on since there is nothing you can do about it but laugh i just start saying dumb crap to them like do you guys know how annoying you all are you guys are like roaches that never freaking go away lol and they get mad and hang up but call back and i just do the same thing over and over and then they get made and leave you alone for a little while they have called 6 times back to back and its annoying and its harrasment but there is nothing you can do about it so you have to make the best of it but dont give them any information as it is a scam!

Similar scenarios as many of you. However, I went to my local police station and they said that they couldn't do anything. So, have any of you succeeded in filing a complaint and who did you make a report to? The number was listed on my cell phone... 919-746-8019. THey called my cell number 3 times within 24 hours. I called and told them to stop calling for Jennifer (not my name) and to take my number off their call list. I also told them that I had contacted the local police and knew that they were running a scam. So sad for people that may not understand... especially the elderly. How upsetting this could be for them. God forbid they actually give personal information.

I received a call from 646-328-2043 from "Officer Bruce" stating he was with the Federal Criminal Investigation Unit.  Funny, not until I tried to apply for a payday loan did I start getting these calls.  I had one and it is scheduled for payoff this Friday (1.13.12).  So, how can I be in trouble for something I haven't even defaulted on?  It's funny cause it's with Cash Net so maybe they need to check the security of their website.  I didn't get to talk to him when I called him back but I let his voicemail have it and let him know I was reporting him to every legal agency I could think of.

I have been literally cussed at by this guy who claims to be Officer Victor King, with Federal Crimes Investigation, he can barely speak English...also caller ID shows unknown, but he left a message on my cell stating I had commited a federal crime and that there was a legal complaint against me and the number to call back he gave was 646-381-1980, says he works out of Manhattan NY, he told me not to talk or interrupt him while he preceded to talk, which I DID, and started asking him all kinds of questions about him and his employer and I also read the remarks on the this website about it being a scam, he got really upset and hung up on me....his last words were he will see me in court...i said, sounds good to me..What I don't understand, this same guy has called about 6 times, and each time he ends up hanging up on me..

I received a call on my cell phone, from James Black who identified himself by stating that he is with the Federal Crimes Investigation Unit.  I needed to call back immediately because I was listed in a filed complaint as a prime suspect that involved my name and the last 4 digits of my social security number.  
He also calledd my place of employment and left the same message.  the number used was 631 898-1004.

I received a call this morning from the same "BS" agency and the the guy was Kevin who then called me stupid.  When I asked what federal department that he worked for he told me the FBI.  I contacted my local FBI office and reported the information that I obtained.  I also spoke to another guy by the name of Walter Wilson, both gentlement spoke with a heavy Indian accent as well as the operator that answered the phone.  The number I was called from was 901-584-0496 ext. 901.  When I called again just to obtain additional information to pass forward to the FBI, I was told that they were located in Memphis, TN and that I could send my payment to 458 McLillie Ln in Covington, TN 38019, I googled the address and it is a house that is currently on the market for sale.  After recieving this information from the goober who answered the phone, I told them that I was contacting the FBI and they hung up on me.  I forwarded the information to the FBI who also advised me to contact 888-495-8501 to report this issue as well.  Don't fall for it......it's a scam.

I work in Ornage County, NY and received a call on 9/22/11 from Officer Kevin Smith from the Fedreal Crime Investigation Unit in regards to an employee who no longer works here. This gentleman had an indian accent and asked that if I see this person to have him call @ (901)389-4425.

I've received numerous calls from an Oscar White 707-723-0183 its in Healdsburg,Ca. in Sonoma county
both on my cell phones he didn't state who was making the accusation on me but told me to call this other person oh that he didn't have the information he was an Indian speaking person that couldn't talk clear. I called that number back and it said call couldn't go through then the next day I called the person I think was Oscar said hello and didn't identify him self or the company so I hung up then 1 min later the cell I called on was ringing but I didn't answer was the same number. He left quite a few threatening messages on both cell phones that I'm keeping as evidence of this scam. so make note of this new number that I have posted

Maria Watson from Federal Crime investigation called my Job today said for me to call her back at 901 217 4585 ext 2001 My co worker took the message was worrid and got  me out of meeting so i called the number i got a voicemail. I knew it was a scam. I called them back on my cell phone still got a voicemail. So i went online and see if that number will come up online for a business in Moscow TN but there was no Business under that name for that number I knew it was a scam, Then I type the company name and read article about a man who got a call from Federal Crime Investigation. So They call my Job again I pick up it was Mary Watson, She ask for me, i said this was me and then she said Im going to have my supervisor talk to you, i said Ok The guy came on and asked if my last 4 of my SS# he had it correct but i said no thats not my last 4 of my SS# then he asked if my address was I said no that's not my address. He said ok we must have the wrong person. so later on the same number called my cell phone, was like did anyone call from this number. I just hung up. SCAm

Its a SCAM. At this point, it is beginning to be funny to me. I cant sue them because they're phone number is out of NY but ported from Denver Colorado. And the Colorodo port is from the UK. These nuts aint even in the US!!!! What a shame!!! Just laugh at them and hang up. If they call your cell phone - block the number. You may have to do it through your carrier. I was able to do it from my cell phone

HOW IT WORKS!!! Im well educated so that kinda makes me a debt collectors worst nightmare
1)They call stating the are from the "criminal nvestigation department" or "legal" but when you ask them to repeat the name of the company and for a full address, they get irate immediately. They'll tell you its somewhere in NY. Ask who you are speaking with and full spelling of their name. You will get a variation of names from Damon Butler or Dannon Butler to an Alber Smith. I got a name so crazy the last time I called, I cant even remember in my pistivity while typing this.
2)Ask them who they are collecitng for (check your records as you may have a "Paid" letter for this same debt). Acknowledge the fact that they may have bougth a debt (or is it deeper than that?) for pennies on the dollar. Acknowledge the fact that this debt may be out of "stat" in the state you live in. So now its time to as for a "Verification of Debt" and see how that goes. But you have already acknowledged the fact that they HAVE to provide this for you or they cannot continue to collect this debt. Too bad they tell you "They are not giving you anything and that they are sending an officer to your home to arrest you." Totally illegal and just not truel!!
3) For some reason these people (or this one person with different names) have some pretty identifying information on you. Did they really buy a debt or hack into some information we are just not privy to? Never confirm your SS# or you addressuntil they agree to provide the verification of debt. Never ever give banking information over the phone!!
4) By this time ther is a full blown argument where the so called "collector" is screaming at you and refusing to tell you anything you need to know regarding this debt. Now he wants you to fax him a letter stating that you authorize them to take payments out of  your account on whatever given dates.  PEOPLE!! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A SCAM !!

I am also recieving calls from a guy named Albert Smith claiming to be from the Federal Crimes Investigation stating that I recieved a payday loan and did not pay it back.  I have also been threatened with the cops coming to my door if i didnt pay it back. He even called my place of employment. I too was afraid because I had taken out a pay day loan but not through the company he is stating. I checked with company and i am in good standing with them and making payments.  It is hardning to see that others are going through this same thing as I have been a nervous wreck all morning since talking with them.  Watch out for number 646-480-9999

just called 'officer' robin garcia again. somehow these #s are being stolen from regular customers out of new york sprint. i told him that i was filing a police report and he too laughed. still had the nerve to threaten me with an arrest warrant, and said i was ruining my life. we also contacted the innocent people who's #s are being used and are now aware of there situation. so please do not call these #s, as they have nothing to do with it. thank you

646 408 7486 or 9999 was the #s an "officer" robin garcia badge # 3274 with a heavy meddle eastern accent used to contact my work and myself. claiming to be with the federal crimes investigation unit. stated that i took out a loan from usfastcash. never took out a payday loan. this guy had almost all of my personal info; name, address, ssn, drivers license #, bank info. threatened legal action, jail and so on. they ended up stealing almost  $200 from my account. fortunately my bank is now investigating and i too will file a police report.

I just recieved a call from Joseph Newman myself stating they were pressing federal charges against me for past due pay day loans. He was trying to bully me in to making a credit card payment to avoid going to court. When I refused to give him a credit card number, he reluctantly gave me information to send the payment western union. What really raised a red flag with me is that when I was getting the western union information, not only did he give me the payee's name of Vijaya Laxmi which is supposed to be his supervisor, not a court or agency, he was unable to give me a case number to reference on the payment. Before making a payment, luckily I researched this fake federal agent Joseph Newman. I also made a police report including both of thier names for falsly identifying themselves as law enforcement and luckily I saved the voicemail he had left me for proof! When I called Joseph back and advised him that he was not to contact me again and that I had filed a police report, he did not seem surprised, he just said ok and hung up.

A man claiming to be Officer Mark Nicholas left me a message to call him back at this number. He stated he was with the Federal Crime Investigation and that it was to discuss a legal matter.
I haven't called back and don't plan to. The fact that this same number with different people has plagued others is enough to tell me NOT to call them back. I will be reporting this to the police.

I am from Wisconsin, and I just received a phone call from a Joseph Nueman badge #181 this morning and he said he was with Federal Crime Investigation calling about a Cash Net USA Loan that was wired to my account and that I didn't pay back, and I have several counts against me including fraud, and that if I don't get their help first, that they would take me to court and that someone would show up at my door step to arrest me or come to my work.  For one thing, I had this Loan 4 years ago, and I filed it in my bankruptcy last year, and for another, I know that Federal Government would not be threatening me when I ask what are you talking about?  He kept getting mad when I asked what are you talking about lol.  So he said fine we will not help you, and you will get arrested haha, just wait and watch when they arrest you at your door!  I was shaking and so scared, thinking well I didn't commit any crimes....this guy is crazy!  So sure enough, I found more stuff on this number, which is a big relief to see that they are fake.  I am going today to file a police report, and everyone should, so they can investigate where the calls are coming from. Call, then at (973) 854-4262 and tell them they can just wait and watch for the police to show up at his door!

I just had the same thing happen to me a couple of hours ago with the guy name Joseph Newman calling me badge #181.He was stating that I had a cash loan and owed some money on account that I did not have. He wanted me to send him some information by fax and have it notoraized ( what kind of company does that!!!) He keeps calling me on Friday only to see if I am going to pay this account. The thing that questions me the most is the number comes up unknown everytime. Customer Service numbers don't come up unknown when they call you. I asked him to send me some information about this and he keeps telling me that he can't until this debt is paid!!! Hmmmmm, why as a consumer are you not able to receive documentation of what your paying until after he has your money. Melissa I fell the same way you felt when he called...SCARED because I have not committed a crime. Then he kept calling me a criminal are customer service reps even allowed to say these words with you. I have not worked in that field before I know that you are not suppose to talk to consumers like you are on the street. Then he said the same thing to me fine we will not help you then laugh ha, ha the police will be at your door in two hours. I am actually in the process of filing a police report as I write this comment. People please be careful.

I got one of these calls from Mark Nicholas. I too was relieved to find this website! He has called twice in a row so far at 6:30 am. Once I found this website I called them back. I told them to stop calling me and I know that I have done nothing wrong so there was no reason to call me. They kept asking me my name and transferring me to other people. One guy asked if he could put me on hold and I told him, NO, I do not want you guys calling me anymore! I looked you guys up online and I know you are a scam! So he sad, We are a scam? Ok, then bye bye. And then he hung up! lol. Obviously if it was seriously a legal issue he would not hang up on me.

Same infomation on other numbers with an India-Speeking man with an American names giving me information about a friend and that I should call back. He states to be ready for the worst nightmare of my life, etc. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of New Jersey several months ago, so the information is spreading. ITS ALL A SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND DO NOT CALL AND GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. If this was a legitimate Police call, they certainly wouldnt call and use such language, they would speak clearer, and definitely not in a room where you can hear people probably scamming the next unsuspecting citizen. When are we going to take America back people? Get out there and vote and get these P.O.S. politicians out of office and get someone else in there who cares.

I just received a call from the same place saying I owe for a payday loan but I never took a payday loan. I am in the process of filng bankruptcy and will be contacting my attorney with this information. What have the police said when reports have been filed?

this guy has been calling me all day threatening to have me arrested, cussing me out trashing my family.  Saying vile things about me and my family.  Number is 919-237-9060 and 919-237-7707.  Says his name is Anthony Bardon, or Stephen Johnson.  Says i owe money for a cash advance I never paid back, or am going to jail.  Said he was with Federal Criminal Investigation.  When asked for paper info they hang up. So glad Im not the only one affected had me scared.

I've dealt with these scumbags before. They called me saying I have a pending legal matter. Officer Joseph Neman was the name he used. He was actually calling about a legitimate debt I have on an old payday loan. When he threatened to send police to my door, I became suspicious and called the original debtor. They said that the account had not been placed to an outside agency, and that I should be dealing with nobody other than them regarding the matter. I paid off the account, but the guy kept calling. I told him I know who he is and what he is up to, and called his bluff. I told him to go ahead and send cops to my door. Needless to say, the calls stopped after that, and no police ever came to my door.

I believe they are pulling info off Teletrak, a nationwide database for payday lenders, and calling people and scaring them into giving them money, posing as a collection agent for the original debtors.
