They text me at 5am this morning (4/17)...They also knew my first name as well. But $1000 gift card for free..I was born at night but not last night!

I got the same BB $1000 scam offer from 240-348-3365
Already reported it to the text number hosting company and the National Do-Not-Call registry.

The website that is running the scam appears to be:

It looks like they are getting all of the texting numbers from online text number services.
You need to contact the company hosting the texting numbers and report the abuse to shut down their access to these numbers.
Also report the abuse to the National Do-Not-Call Registry.
They will be able to pull subpenoes and get to the people responsible.

The scammers have their main website hosted through a privacy company to attempt to block us from contacting them directly.

+1 (406) 233-1580 diff number. Does anyone live in the Burbank area? I think this comes from a biz in the area. Just trying to figure out how they get name and number.

Received same text from two different numbers, both at 7:17am EST. They knew my first name as well. I texted both numbers "STOP". One of the numbers texted back "who is this"! The numbers used were 240 558 8977 and 631 532 8634.

Same text at 323am CST from 732-926-4000. Have not bothered with site. So is there a Do Not Text registry?

I received the same message as everyone else - $1000 BestBuy gift card if I visited prizepickupcenter.com.  This time the number was from 845-405-8096.

Yep, I got the same message except from a new number: 862-243-7515.
I guess they use area codes from all over the country. I have no idea how they have my cell number.

So I just got this same thing, so I called the number to tell them to take me off their list.  I didnt get an answer (surprise!).  But they did send me another text saying "Um Hello?     Broken Angel."  I followed it with a "Stop Texting me," and they replied "Well then Dont call me"

Oddly, I just purchased a gift card at best buy just yesterday, and haven't been in their store for months prior to that.  Strange coincidences???

Just got one as well from yet another number...319-327-8571 registered out of Iowa!

I got a message from 307-939-7507 earlier today.  The funny thing is yesterday after shopping at Best Buy I filled out the survey to win a Best Buy gift card on the bottom of the receipt.  It actually got me thinking this could be for real.  But after searching around on the internet I decided to not fill out the form.

Highly suspect since it seems to be a fairly professionally constructed Web site on the surface, yet no links to Best Buy or any mention of this contest on the Best Buy Web site.

I received the same message from 484-222-4386.  I' guessing that they might have gotten names from the cellphone companies because they referred to me at "T."  When I registered my cellphone with my carrier I entered "T" in the first name bar.  Either way its annoying and does anyone know how to stop them?

any idea if this will incur charges on cell phone bill?

Same from 970-360-8377.  (4/17, 2pm PDT) Obvious scam..  Nobody gives things away for free!  Probably related to the solen email thing from early this month?

Another number: 617-829-0803, same as above. They are persistent!

Yet another number....928-399-7292.  Same information as everyone else received, including my first name.  Quite irritating.

They are also using 972-784-5276

I do not know the name of the company but I do not appreciate having text messages at 2:00 am on my cell phone. I would like to know how to block these types of scammers from using my cell phone.
It was from 774-549-2909 telling me I had a prize from Best Buy.

I received the same text at 2:00 am this morning form 774-549-2909. I hate the fact that these morons are now waking me in the middle of the night with their scams on my cell phone.

I got the same text at 1:50am MST this morning, except it was from 973-658-6199.  Same purported 'website' ('PrizePickupCenter.Com"), same purported random win of a $1,000 Best Buy gift card.  I went to a library computer to avoid any virus pickup on my own pc.  Was immediately redirected to a blank page that seems to be associated with a DoubleClick tracking site.  A Google search of 'PrizePickupCenter.com' says that this is on a server hosted by GoDaddy.com in Scottsdale Arizona.  Would love to know how this spam knew my first name!
