Called and explained that I won 1 of 5 trips by filling out a ballot I don;t remember.. Gave me the whole "gifting ceremony" speech and said I  had noting to pay or bring just attend the ceremony and win  an 8 day trip , or rca tv or trip to hilton head or etc etc.. jjust seems fishy .... promoting word of mouth advertising by giving me free stuff.. only 150 in 10 000 win.... weird call, broken up voices.. nice enough but who gets something for nothing??

I got the same call, claiming that i won a flat screen TV or $1000 CD. These individuals are actually calling from India and not Buffalo NY like they claim. I did not fall for this scam, because i happen to watch a movie titled OUTSOURCED which clearly demonstrate people like the once who called me.

Stay away from these callers as they will scam you in to giving away your personal information in order to use it for fraud.

CAC called me today. I don't usually waste any time on telemarketer calls but the accent was so hard to understand and the setup so bad ( "Congratulations you've won a prize because you or someone in your family filled in a ballot at a shopping mall, or a grocery store, or at Walmart ..." )it was strangely compelling to try figure out what they were selling.
I let them sign me and my wife for a 90 minute award ceremony at 216 Chrislea Rd 2nd floor room 202 Woodbridge Ontario on Saturday.  Asked why my wife needs to attend ... gave some non-sensical answer that they're not sure whose name was on the ballot so we both need to come.  Asked why it takes 90 minutes to give me 1 of 4 prizes ( 2 trips, 52" TV or $1,000 )they said first 30 minutes I ( and roughly 35 others ) would be getting our prizes and pictures would be taken  in front of an audience of perhaps 500 others ...then 30 minutes for a 'lovely' free meal ... then we could leave.   Oh  and I had to bring some ID.   Hmmmm  .... they need my ID  and they want to take pictures of me. I wonder why ?   At the end of the call I asked for a telephone number so i could call back if I wanted to cancel attending the award ceremony .. was told he'd give me his private cell#  ... and an hour later I called it, no-one picked up, so left a msg we wont be coming and pls do not call us in future.

Notice how an "alec stewert" leaves a positive comment and Katherine received a phone call from an Alex Stewert.
i cant believe theyre even trying to manipulate like that, that should be illegal, to pose as a happy customer when you know full well you're the one running a scam.

I received a call from Consumer Award Centre (CAC) about an hour ago. The same things that people have indicated above; I won a prize for either a trip for 2, a big screen tv, $1000 cash or a family trip to Orlando, Florida. I listen for a while to a South Asian accent male who called himself Brad Jackson. I told him I did not recall completing a ballot but he kept on pushing the prizes on me. When I asked what was the catch I was told that I would need to do word of mouth advertisement for the company whose prize I draw when I get to the award ceremony. He then transfered the call to his supervisor Susan DeSilva (another South Asian sounding woman)who indicated that I'd need to confirm with my husband before she provide me with a prize claim number. She called back 3 times in about half an hour and I told her I was not interested in claiming the prize after I came upon this website. A similar company called me in April and we told them we were not interested. When we did our research there were many complains about "time shares."

The prize was to be picked up at 216 Chrislea Rd., 2nd Floor, Woodbridge (Highway 4 and Weston Road). The telephone number was 716-240-4179.

Something needs to be done about unscrupulous companies like these. I wonder who sold them my information in the first place.

Received a call saying that I had filled out a ballet as well, even though they didn't have my unit number or my first name on it.  I accused the guy of lying and he(Asian) became very defensive.  Told me his name was Michael Clark.  All these names sound very generic considering it was people with thick accents.  I made a date with him, which of course I will not be attending.  In the meantime I am going to find out as much information as I can to know how to address this issue.  Obviously, they think they found a way around the do not call list by indicating a ballot was filled out.  The address was 6-1510 Drew Rd and the call back number was 718-535-5574.

This morning at 8:00 am he (indian fellow with a Canadian name) called from Buffalo (718-569-6695), saying he was from the "Consumer Award Centre" and that my husband and I had a package ready for pick up (I didn't catch the name due to his heavy accent - but now know who they are). As I am expecting an overseas delivery I actually listened to him. How dumb of me! My husband took the call to get the address information and then told the manager that we are not interested. I just hope that they don't start harrasing me again. I was getting so many of these calls last year but all from a Toronto phone #. I was quite surprised that they would go to such length for their marketing. These people are annoying and then also get rude and abnoxious if you try to get rid of them. They need to be reported.

I got a call a few minutes ago.  Don't these idiots know that we use google?  Asian guy with heavy accent originally said he was from Ramada in Buffalo.  He said "You know about Ramada, right?"  He said I filled out a ballot on December 18th and he wanted to confirm all of my information with me.  He called me by my last name.  No Miss or Mrs - just my last name, as though it were my first name.  I hung up.  He called back and continued trying to confirm my personal info.  I asked him where I had filled out a ballot as I never fill out ballots.  He listed about ten possible places, including Esso, WalMart and many others.  I asked him what I won.  He told me to get a pen and paper so I could write it down.  I pretended I had a pen and paper.  He then tried confirming my personal info again by repeating my name, address, age range, etc.  I told him to f*** off and hung up.  He called back and left a message.  If he calls back again I will pick up the phone and blow my eardrum-shattering whistle right into the phone at full blast.

This scam is ongoing ... they just keep changing addresses and phone numbers when things get too hot for them.  I had 4 calls from them today.  I kept telling them to stop calling and I hung up, only to have them call back immediately.  Same old crap -- I've won a choice of 5 prizes and have to take my wife with me to their address to claim it.  I finally agreed just to stop the calls and got transferred to another person, "Joe Valentino", (another Indian) who was authorized to take me to the next step and provide me with the details.  Their address (this week) is Unit 6, 1510 Drew Road, Mississauga.  I was given a phone number of 416-628-9766 for verification, but a (much later) call back to that number reached a generic answering machine.
I have to chuckle at the messages here saying what a good outfit this is and that the "prizes" were obtained -- obviously written by the scammers themselves!

I also had a call from the Consumer Award Center. They said they got my name from a ballot, which I also never fill out. The prizes (no financial obligation) were 60 inch plasma tv, trip to Orlando or Cancun, cruise on Royal Caribbean, $1000 cash or trip to Hilton Head and a set of golf clubs. I asked why they were giving away free prizes, the heavily accented agent who called himself Frank Wood, said the sponsors just wanted happy customers to tell other people "good words" about their products. I finally agreed to go to Woodbridge to pick up my "guaranteed" prize just to get off the phone. As I registered on the Do Not Call list, I have to wonder!

called today from this company, but i had better "prizes" than you, a 60 inch TV, or a resort trip to South Carolina, or a week in Orlando.  They were having a drawing Sunday, the following day, at 1510 Drew Rd Unit 6 in Mississauga, and listed the contact name there as Kevin Reid.

They also namedropped an International Gran Center, somehow name dropped Ramada Inn, and also said they were in Buffalo NY

call ID didnt show. thick accent dude saying he was from the Consumer Award Center in Buffalo and that I had won one of five prizes and that I had to pick it up with my wife in Woodbridge. Also claimed we had filled out something in a store. bollocks as 1) I never do that, 2) dont even know my fixed line number as I never use it (asked him how he got the number and he said it was on the ballot that I had filled out. lie.), 3) just moved to canada from europe. he couldnt say which client that was giving away the prize and I asked him over and over what would happen in Woodbridge beyond jut picking up the prize (btw: could be 52" plasma, cruise, trip to south carolina, trip to mexico or CAD 1,000 in cash). Didnt get any answers. He claimed it was just picking up the prize nothing more. after pushing he said there would be a 90minutes presentation from their sponsors. He couldnt tell who the sponsors were or what they were going to talk about. At this point it started to get fun so I probed and probed, but nothing came out. Told him that unless he could tell me who and why someone would give me a prize for something I never have done or for something they want me to do I would not come. I was transfered around a bit to managers etc. same story (or lack of it)...Its been a while since I stopped believing in santa claus. Stay away. they are idiots!!!

I just got a call from this Consumer Award Center, the man said he was calling from their Buffalo, NY office.  Like others, he told me my name had been entered in a drawing and I had won one of five prizes that I would have to go to their office in Woodbridge, ON to claim.  I let him describe the prizes.  He started to say something about the vacation package and asked if I was married.  I asked him why this was relevant.  He said that the package was for married people or couples and asked if I had a boyfriend.  Again, I asked why I had to go with a husband or boyfriend.  He then replied that single women could also go, but said single men could not.  That sounded odd to me, so I asked why.  He said it was only for couples.  Basically I kept asking him questions while he talked in circles without addressing what I was asking him about.  I asked to speak to his supervisor.  "Nickson" came on the phone and tried to get me to agree to come into the Woodbridge office.  I told them that I wanted my name taken off of their call list.  He kept trying to change the topic back to me coming in to claim a prize.  I kept insisting that they take me off of their call list.  Eventually he relented and told me he would and then hung up.  Very annoying.  Hopefully they'll never call me again.

I got a call on a Monday, from BMA (as it was shown on my caller ID) saying they are calling from Consumer Award Centre.  It was a man with a heavy south asian accent.  I couldn't understand him so he transferred me to his manager, Steven.  He says i have won a 27 inch tv or a vacation to the Bahamas for two.  Steven wanted me and my spouse to attend a seminar, and they even gave me a "confidential" gift code to attend pick up my prize with no financial obligation.  I said I would call him back after I talk to my husband.  The day after I got a call from his "Assistant Manager" named Edwin Francis, calling from Buffalo NY.  who was adamant i book this appointment.  So i booked it.  (not sure why) but then i called back the number he gave me 905 581 0053. Their head office is supposedly in Etobicoke Ontario, but it was long distance for me, even though Etobicoke is not long distance for me.

Anyway, i called and cancelled our appointment.  but he was very upset and he continues to call back, even though i asked him to stop calling me back.

he only had my intial, but i gave him my name.  I hope he is not trying to further scam me.  Please do not listen to this caller, even though they sound nice at first.  They can become very annoying.

They even called me on a holiday!!!

A gentelman by the name of Bill called and asked my wife to have me call him back at this number.  He said I had a package to pickup in Woodbridge from his company TVS.  When i called back, there was no ringing and it went straight to a busy signal.  My wife said the caller was very strange and had long silences between his speech. I'm tired of telemarketers and wish the these methods of marketting would stop.

I got a call from Alex Stewart. He passed me to his manager Kevin Peterson.  Same story, I won a 27" RCA TV or 3 day/2 night trip. Told me I had to visit an address in Richmond Hill and attend a seminar. When I told him I was not interested nor did I fill out any ballot, he became very upset and even asked if I knew anyone that would like to go in my place.  Even though he initially said this prize was for me only.
