I have recently started getting calls about the same time every morning from some number we didn't recognize & I have been tryiing to figure out who would be calling from Seattle, WA (since we don't know anyone there) & how they got our number (since it's non-pub). This number calls 10 times a day. Have asked them to stop many times and they keep calling.

I filed a complaint on the b*****ds with the Do Not Call Resigtry.  I've used this before and it makes them go away.

Just calls repeatedly and hangs up.. no one on the line.. dead air.. 10 times a day..

Received an unsolicited call from this number.  She was barely understandable (foreign call center).  She wanted to provide information about the latest insurance rates. I told her not to call me again and hung up.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, I received a call from this "so called" Teleport Communications Inc. and the number on my caller ID was indeed the titular number, 978-570-2339 but had the listing name CREDIT SERVICES (which means nothing).  I answered the call because my recorder wasn't working at the time.  I didn't want to miss something important, so I answered it.  There was a LIVE PERSON at the other end saying I can reduce my credit card interest to 5-6% on ALL of the credit cards. Being in the midst of something important but interested, I said whatever this call is about, you'd better get it out fast because I am very busy and on a roll.  Knowing how careful Chase and Discover is, I gave ALL pertinent information even the SC number on the back (ON ALL CARDS).  He said I will be receiving a call back in 30 (thirty) minutes with the details.  At that time, I was very anxious to get rid of him because he had already occupied 5 (five) minutes of my time. No call back came.  Days later Chase cancelled access to my card and contacted me by phone because of charge attempts which were denied (GOOD THING)...problem is, they cancelled for me too. They suggested I cancel the card and get a new number.  I then called the number 978-570-2339 to see why they didn't call back and got a recording in a lady's voice droning to perpetuity, "Thank you for calling back.  If you are not interested in receiving future calls regarding our special promotions and would like to be placed on our 'Do-Not-Call' list, please press one (repeat, repeat, repeat, ad infinitum).  Please allow up to seventy-two hours to have your number removed from our preferred marketing list.  Thank you.  Have a nice day".  There were no other queues directing me to a live person and when I hit "0", the call terminates.  I will immediately advise the fraud detection units of my credit card companies.

I have tried and tried to have this number stopped...everytime I get a hold of the telemarketer, they hang up!!!  I am so tire of this # calling me.  I have found their other #'s and addresses but get the same response, does anyone know how to stop them???

every day, this phone # wake mi up; said nothing, just bother and wake to mi and my family.  I apreciate, if these phone calls stop calling my fmily.  Thanks very much.

This company is absolutely ridiculous! I will be filing a police report ASAP! I am receiving calls back to back for at least 20 to 30mins...when I finally threatened to turn them in, I continued to receive harrassing calls with the employees scream at me on the phone

I can't wait for the day when a class action suit beats the crap out of companies like this!

This number phones several times a day even though we are on the do not call list.  I am sick of it and want it stopped.  It is a waste of their time and mine!!!!

Same number continues to call I don't answer. VM warranty repair telemarketer. Idiots!! with nothing better to do. Will report number to FCC as well.

Teleport Communications Group is not the same entity as Teleport Communications Group, Inc., a telecommunications carrier absorbed by AT&T, as you state, in 1998.

Teleport Communications Group is not a communications carrier, in my opinion.  

In my opinion, The operation hiding behind Teleport Communications Group is a telemarketing operation.  It is probably not named Teleport Communications Group, but lets call it "TCG" anyway. And the addresses and phone numbers are many and varied.  I'd guess the numbers from (978)-570-2000 to 2400 are in use in this operation.

Without regard to protected call lists - probably using a system that generates calls in a given area, or from a submitted list - TCG uses a computerized telemarketing system that generates recorded messages.  There is probably a surplus of used call generation equipment these days.

If a called party responds, maybe by pressing "1", they are connected to an independent contractor, who serves as someone connected to the service or product offered.  We'll call that person the telemarketer.  The telemarketer is probably working from home and is paid based on the information collected, appointments made or monetary collections.

Telemarketers will not tell called parties who they are, who they are contracted to, or the names of TCG clients.  They will just hang up.  You might try pressing "0" or another extension to leave a message for someone operating the program.  You might tell them you'll report them to the FCC or Better Business Bureau.  Don't expect that you'll be dropped from their list by pressing "1" if you return the call, though.  
 
TCG has contracted with businesses, collection agencies and so forth.    These are the clients who pay them for results.  TCG probably positions itself as a "telecommunications consultant", "marketing company" or "sales agency".  In fact, TCG might be a small, light-on-its-feet enterprise or sole proprietor.  TCG might even contract out the solicitation of its services to other telemarketers.

All this is just guesswork on my part, though.

A little more about Teleport Communications. I cross-referenced it using Google Earth, and found this contact info - they have several sites in MA:
(I noticed the Needham and Marlboro sites both had the same number with minor variations of the address.)

I came up with simlar information. What phyical address corrdoantes with the latitude and logitude/ I think it is somewhere on or near Burlington Ave. Has anyone come come up yet with a number that they answer; or the names and addresses or phone numbers of those who own or mangage this business?

I had a message from Heather about my credit card statement last night. I got another call today from this #. When I picked up and waited for a "live" person.I asked what company he was with he said visa/mastercard. When I asked for a # to call him back at he asked why I wanted the #.When I said so I could call them back he would not give me the #.When I told him not to call back he hung up on me. I tried calling the # 1-978-570-2370. There is a recording saying it is not a working #.

Received a call from 978-750-2370.  They didn't say anything.. How do I get them to stop.

Telemarketing scam. Selling debt relief or consolidation loans which we all know is a scam to get more money from people already raped by the facist corporate scum running this country these days.

Wife actually stayed on the line and pressed the button to reach an operator. When she got through, she requested they stop calling. The reply was Fork you and a hang up.
