Got a "Windows Tech Support" scam call from a local number. I had a long session with the 2 callers (heavy south asian accent) as I was stringing them along, and got transferred to the 2nd caller after I complained I couldn't understand the 1st caller. My wife wanted to go so I just I hung up (no warning given), they called me back from 987-402-0500 as they would have thought the call got dropped in error.
So yes, I'd say this number is associated with the scam.

They claimed my computer was infected and they wanted me to go to their website to rectify the problem.
Could hardly understand him and had a feeling this was a scam.
Told him I didn't quite understand what he was talking about and he started to get annoyed and rude so I laughed and told him I was hanging up and did so.
Do they think we are stupid?
How did they get my number?

They claim that your OS has logged a virus on your computer and messaged their support centre. They want you to go on their website to rectify.
I am quite sure that that would actually result in them infecting your computer and breaching your security/identity protection.
I laughed at them and promptly hung up on them.
