I get the calls too.  Often different numbers.  Most recently I did finally get info.  This guy was calling from Florida, near Orlando, from 949-527-1674.  I have taken to wasting their time so I played along, taking the bait, with a wrong last 4 of my SSN and wrong zip code.  He tried to access my accounts but was unable, since my #s didn't work, and I got him to give me their name and #:

Got ph call today 07/09/11,they asked for my credit cards numbers.
I told them will check with my credit card about their services. They said will call back some other time and hung up. Another scam company.

Area code 898 is a VoIP line (Vonage, etc) and the 000 prefix indicates caller ID has been spoofed.

and if I get huge fees for trying to deal with these people I am not going to pay those either; they can kiss my a**, I did not ask them to call me--what exactly is wrong with the FCC or other authorities that are supposed to control this activity??

these people are calling my business line everyday and when the no. to get a real person is pressed a complete idiot stupid b***h comes on the line and refuses to talk and slams the phone down.  Now I will have to track them down and take them out, apparently following the lawful conventional means just does not work despite the fact one registers on the dncall registry.  Why should I put up with this? I dont do this to other people...

I saw a strange number across my caller ID. I didn't answer it because it certainly did not look like a legitimate number to me.

the area code is 989, not 898. I got a call from the same number and it isn't the first time. 989-000-6937. I never have answered it because I don't answer calls that are blocked or unidentified but sure do wonder what that is.

This is a place calling themselves "Account Services" which tells you they can lower your credit card interest rates to 6.9%. I've asked them to remove me from their listing as I'm on the no-call list, the first 2 times and they hung up on me, the 3rd time I asked the man to be removed from the list, he said he would, and hung up,  the 4th time I told them I'd asked them to remove me and the woman hung up again, again.

You don't need to hit 9 to get a person, hit 0, 9 will usually get you outrageous charges on your phone, not always, but usually.

Company keeps calling with an automated message that says, "This is Rachel from cardholder services.  There is nothing wrong with your card.  Please press 9 to find out if you qualify for a reduction in interest rates."  

I keep telling them to remove me from their list, but they hang up before I get the chance.  I try to call back, but the number won't go through.  Also, I received a phone call from a local land line, that was identified as someone else on my caller id.  It was this company, using someone else's number in caller id to make their calls.  I called the person on my caller id and it was an older gentleman who said he keeps getting these calls--I told him it was a scam and he said he suspected it.

Got this call from 989-000-6937. Recording said it was credit card account services ; that there was no problem with my credit cards but that they needed me to call them immediately. Hung up at that point. I am also on the do not call list. Hope they can catch these jerks and prosecute them.

Telemarketers like these work on percentages. They can make 100 calls in an hour using autodialers and most people will ignore or hang up. But if just 1 person bites, they make a huge profit. The enemy for them is time. The longer you keep them tied up, they can't make as many calls and thier profit potential goes down. I've found that if you keep them on the line with LOTS of questions and ask them to explain over and over exactly what you get (without giving them ANY info), eventually they get frustrated and hang up. Many will remove your name from thier call lists. Act excited and just as they are pushing for thier final close, drop a question that makes them go back to the beginning. It's great fun!

these people keep calling and calling and calling and calling and calling...this is not right.  i am a cancer patient and sleep at all different times of the day and i can't take it anymore.  i frequently update my number on the do not call list but that never works.  someone has to step up to this harrassment.  i get many, many calls a month from many solicitors, so what is wrong with the system?  guess i already know.

Received ANOTHER call from Card Services today.  I have told them I am not on the Do Not Call list but they continue to call over and over again.

Yet another robo-call from Rachel at Cardholder Services. This has been going on for years. How can the FTC be so toothless that these jerks haven't been shut down yet?

There is a special place reserved in HELL for folks like these, I never pick up the phone to calls I do not recognize. Never give out your info to someone who calls you. You are asking for trouble.

Never ever give anyone your information over the phone! I am not sure what you can do now. Hope that you didnt give your social security number!

I got a call from this number today, i am in michigan. I dont answer these kinds of calls

Also, if you have spoken to someone at this number who has attempted to get your credit card numbers, please notify your state attorney general's office.
