Same Windows/Virus/Microsoft lines used. Even though the phone number they use is from Michigan 989-488-4484, it's a number that can be used from anywhere in the world: 989-488 is managed by LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC -. Strangely enough, the scammers called myself and my parents at the exact same time last night and we live in different cities (same last name), as it shows up on our call displays, and we compared notes this morning. These scammers are nothing but human waste, and I mean defacation. Just hope people don't fall for anyone on the phone asking to provide personal information.

I had a call last night..I did not hear the ring but this morning I checked and the number is like the one mentioned above..they always have a middle eastern accent and become very familiar, call me by my first name,then if I challenge them they become  nasty,very crude....Please why cannot the authorities do something about these people..it has been going on for several years now..this is harassment...

We have just had four calls from this number
Once from a woman then twice from a very pushy and obnoxious man
Said that I would get compensation from a small car accident I had in the past 2 years - not for injuries but for the shock etc
I asked for paperwork to be sent to me but first he had to cross reference information re the accident
It was soo obvious he had no info at all
I don't understand what he would gain - having offered me money!
Also where did he get any info at all about us?
The first 3 calls were number with held but the 4th try I was able to get 001 989 488 4484 using 1471

THE A***OLE IS ALWAYS YELLING. OH YES MY COMPUTER HAS A REALLY BAD VIROUS BUT HE CAN'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT WHERE WHEN AND HOW IT GOT INTO MY COMPUTER. WHEN I TOLD THE A***OLE MY COMPUTER ALREADY CRASHED HE HUNG-UP

I just got a call from this number with the same line as used on the other people in this thread.  The fellow started shouting at me to go to my computer and follow his instructions, I said, oh ya ok... and he is saying press this tab, that tab, yadda, yadda, yadda... and I said I don't know what you mean... playing dumb, and he yelled at me "are you on your computer?"   I wasn't anywhere near my computer... and I hung up.  The dumb-a** called right back.  I didn't answer.

This same number called my mother and gave her the speel and also said they could come right to her house!   She doesn't even have a computer!
We are in BC.

The next time this number comes up and someone starts speaking I am going to be blowing a whistle in their ear.

Just got this call - we're in British Columbia, Canada. I have had them before, so didn't answer this time. Previously the fellow told me that I couldn't hide from him - he'd find me and show up at my door!!! Seriously - with technology as it is today, why can't the authorities find these folks and charge them?!

Microsoft support scam

This number just called me, it's not the first time, always calls late night, then he starts saying the same story as above comments, I will tell him off, it's when things gets nasty, he would start saying I wanna f$&% with you, etc, I will be honest the first times I got pretty scared, cause I am always alone as my husband works nights! But I think someone should do anything, it's not a funny game! By the way I am in Ontario Canada!

Windows spam call... Don't pick up

Stupid number called me twice tonight at it's now almost 11:00PM. I answered both times to give them a piece of my mind and all I heard was a beep and then an automated "goodbye". Ugh.

Got a call at 11:30 pm last night from this number.
Did NOT appreciate that, as I was already asleep.
No message and I didn't pick up.
the caller id had no name but the "name" came up as  - v530084430000002

This number calls me all the time, they called me three times today alone.  Claiming to be from Microsoft and that my computer is sending them multiple error messages.  They need me to get on my computer so that they can fix the problems.  When I told them that my computer wouldn't be sending them messages that if it had a problem my IT department would get the message and fix it they hung up on me.  The person that called me had a middle eastern accent.

Nope, but I had one (UK) & couldn't trace it either (engaged), so it's probably a computerised spam/fraud call, so Beware - there are some really nasty inhumans out there.

Called my number this evening in BC - didn't answer as didn't recognize the number.  No message left, so now that number is blocked.  If someone doesn't leave a message, I always block that number, if I don't recognize it.

If this is a debt collector they are not allowed to call me. My name is in a class action suit against Midland LLC.

Didn't answer, then called back and it rang, then went to a busy signal. Must be a recording of a busy signal once it is answered. B*****DS!

I've been getting a once daily call from these idiots. Area code is from Michigan. If you call back, it's always busy. The caller claims to be from "Windows" and says that your computer is sending error messages to their offices. If someone were to call from "Windows", they'd be calling from Microsoft, first of all. Second, Microsoft wouldn't call. Third, I tell them they're not who they say they are and, after assuring me they're legit (for a minute or so), they hang up. I laugh. Don't give them any info. They will try and steal info from your computer, more than likely.
