got the same kind of call. My confirmation # was KA123. Lady spoke with a heavy Asian Accent, told me the same thing about the money, etc... Told me I had to call another number 206-905-9201. I of course did not call it. I knew it was B.S. but just listed to her. Why do ppl prey on folks? I don't get it! Guess I'm not criminal minded. PPl Beware of this stuff.

i noticed missed calls while i was working but i finally answered on my day off.. when i answered i heard a ring as if i was calling someone.. then a girl says.. hello.. i said hello who's this.. she said its Nancy.. i said Okkk.. what did you call me for.. she hung up. Just got another call... same ring when i answered.. instead a girlwas just gigglingon the other end.. then she hung up. it's so annoying.. how do i block these calls???

I received two phone calls on 10/7/2013 and one so far on 10/8/2013.  Heard it pick up with people noise in the background then click as they hung when I tried calling back.  No messages were left.

I just got this call, same thing as others have said. A man with an accent I couldn't place (sounded like an Indian trying to do a southern American/ Texas accent) said I'd won a grant from the US government for 7, 000. I don't have to pay it back, etc. Because it was a 'reward' for certain citizens (I was one of the lucky few!) who had paid their taxes and had low debt. (With my student loans and the fact that I'm unemployed, I knew that couldn't be accurate.) He gave me a code and a number to call. He said I wouldn't have to give a ssn or account info of any kind. I let him finish his speal for curiosity's sake. But its definitely a scam. Hopefully they'll stop calling me now.

This number calls and hangs up, I have had ôther calls here lately claiming they are from the government trying to give me 12000 free for going to school. It's a scam for sure!

I am getting calles from 991-178-4784. They asked for my husband said I was not his wife, haha how would they know!? They also said they where from a federal agancy!

If you go along with her b***s*** scam for a min she gives you the number 206-905-9201.She says her name is Katherine Jones.You can't call the first number back but you can get through with the other.She picks up the phone herself so if she's pissin y'all off call her and tell her to go f*** her self,or whatever words you choose.Enjoy!

This number has called me many times a day for the last week at least, and when I finally answered it, it started ringing as if I'd called them. (Makes me wonder how much of a charge would have been charged on my phone bill if I hadn't hung up quickly.)

This number called twice, they hang up when I answer. I tried calling back to a recording that this is not a legit number; tried to look up area codes-no such. Hmmm I smell a scam, and a waste of time

I have been getting calls all day for the last week from 991-178-4784. I've even demanded that they remove me from their call list. Today they called again so I decided to play along, they told me the federal government has awarded me $7000 for being a good citizen, they assured me that the money can be used for anything and I didn't have to pay it back. I told them that I work for the federal gov and I'm curious to find out more. He went along with it and asked me if I would like the money on a bank card, prepaid card, or cash through western union. I told him I prefer cash. Before ending the call he gave me a grant approval number and told me to call 206-905-9201. I googled this # and other people have called and was instructed to send them $278 in order to receive their grant. Scamaramadamna! This is clearly a foreign institution trying to prey on the stupid and elderly.

Anonymous woman caller saying i have been selected to receive a Free Government grant for $7000 that i don't have to pay back.

Please advise as to what new SCAM this one is? ha ha ha!!

I just got the same thing, she said she was from the US Government and I was being awarded $7,000 and didn't have to pay it back.  She said they could put it in my account or credit card to pay it off, I told her that I would not give an account number over the phone and she said that I could go to the nearest Western Union and call another number and gave me a ID # to give them and they would send the money.  I didn't go to Western Union to check it out, but I am sure they would have asked me for some kind of account info then.
I am glad I looked it up before doing anything.  It scares me that they might prey on the elderly.

Got 3 calls from this number. 1 said I got approve for 7000..I didn't have time. 2 called  my little girl answered some man with an  accent is askEd for me by name he gave his name as jada pikett . 3 called back I answered same man asked for me by name. When I asked him who he was he told me he was jada!  
He asked for me again. I asked for his boss. He started to cuss. Said he would f*** m* .I told him my phone could trace him he got more mad with more profanity. it was disturbing to me. Who are these people? some type of justice need to happen..they are sick people be careful don't give any info. :-(

go to the DO NOT CALL LIST. I keep going to Do Not Call List for these numbers but you can only send in a complaint once every 30 days. That's me Sharon above. I wanted every one to know about the DO NOT CALL LIST. It works but this caller won't give up morning, noon, and night.

I get these call EVERYDAY and when I answer they hang up. I call back and the number is a none working number.

I too work in a call center and knew their was no such area code.I didn't answer and called back to be told there number was incorrect.

My wife gets these calls all the time on her cell phone.  Phone rings, she answers and then the other end starts to ring.  She's smart enough to hang up.  I'm just waiting for a phone bill connecting with Bermuda or some stupid place overseas that scammed her.

I just got one of these calls too. I didn't answer because i didn't recognize the number, but if they call again, i will be taking legal action.

I just received a call from this same number. I did not answer it. I do not make a habit of answering calls from numbers I do not recognize. There has to be something that can be done to stop these calls!

i just got the same thing. i was trying to understand what she was saying and asked her to repeat herself and thats when she just said f**k you. it made me quite paranoind.have you had any problems with anything after such as debit card or problems with your phone or anything at all since? thank you.
