It's been said many and in many ways:

IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER DON'T ANSWER IT! IF THE CALLER REALLY WANTS TO TALK WITH YOU THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE.

Just like Pavlov's rats.....many people think that just because the phone rings they think they have to drop everything and respond. It's just a phone and is being used to interrupt lives - if you let them. Don't let these idiots run your life. There are other things to do than sit and wait for the phone to ring.

I received the same call from "Windows IT".  I told them my computer was not on and I could not turn it on at the moment.  I asked him if I could call him back tomorrow and he hung up.  This sure seems like a scam.  They are probably trying to get information from your computer so they can steal your identity, credit cards, bank account or something.  I will attempt to contact Microsoft to report this.

These scammers just called my mom and hijacked her computer. She is clueless about technology and didn't realize that someone could hack her by having her "typing something into the computer". I'm furious .. I'm several states away and had to walk her through unplugging the computer, getting a tech to clean it and as I type this she's on her way to the computer repair shop. We don't know yet whether there has been any financial information stolen, but it's a very real possibility.
They had her open the command box and type something in (I don't know what) and then they had possession of her computer. She could watch them scrolling through. Obviously, they wanted to sell her something to remove malware and spyware .. if only they could sell something to rid us of pests like this scum!

As same as the others. I recieved a call from 999 910 0353. It was a female with a South Asian accent who identified herself as Sophia. (That's not a South Asian name) She said there is some computer errors on my computer. I just kept yelling WHAT?? After a while her customer service skills fell apart and she snapped at me, "stop shouting" I did the hello, hello routine a few more times and she got mad and hung up. The "elderly" act works fine. I ran my anti-viris program just to be safe. Nothing showed up....

Just got a call from this same number and he insisted we do the same as the rest of you. Turn on your computer and he can guide us through to fix the problem. My husband asked the guy which computer and he says the windows microsoft computer. We then went on telling the guy that we were going to have our technician check it out and he kept insisting we do what he says then the phone started having some kind of interference so we hung up.. These guys think we were all born yesterday... Gotta put a stop to them.

Foreign accent - he wanted me log on to my computer.  He said that it was an emergency and hackers were on my computer right now stealing information.  He said my computer would crash within 2 hours.  I told him I was suspicious of his call and I refuse to logon and I hung up.

I got the same BS as the other callers on this list. I hope he doesn't call back. He said his name was Dan Brown with a heavy Indian accent. He gave one number but that wasn't the number that came up on my caller id.

I received a couple calls from this number and I usually let the answering machine pick up but I answered this time and he was a very foreign speaking man and did not identify himself.  I asked him to remove me from their list and he wanted to know why.  I told him so that you don't call me any more.  He said that I would have to pay to be taken off their list and I said that I would not and he said "You pay or I call you again and again and again".  Good luck with that, when the phone rings again from this number, I will be waiting with a WHISTLE and he will not be able to hear after I am done.  These people need to be stopped scamming.

Yeah, that will help.  These guys are from other countries!  There are NO LAWS there.  That is why OUR laws have no affect on them.  Block their number or don't answer.  We have no other recourse with them.
