Got a voicemail robocall message at 5:10 pm on 3/28/2014. My caller ID read: +6087290020.

The message left was as follows: "Hello, this is the state if Wisconsin and we arte calling regarding a letter that we recently sent to you. We will attempt to reach you again in the next two weeks. Please be aware that if you see caller ID 6087290020 that this is the state of Wisconsin calling regarding a letter wee sent you. Thank you and have a great day."

This is so obviously a scam. I am on the Do Not Call list and have reported this scam to the FTC here: https://www.donotcall.gov/ I also blocked the phone number. Good luck to the FTC in catching these crooks!

I believe this is the 3rd+ call I've received from them today with same spiel @ 1:30 p.m. CST.  They verify you through the month of your birthday.  They don't mention, maybe they did, but I could tell the call seemed to be recorded due to echoing.  The woman asked if we got the letter stating that we are losing our badgercare coverage and if we got insurance through the exchange or an employer.  I do remember during one of the calls, they wanted to let me know that I could purchase badgercare through the exchange, but I did not see that option at time of enrollment online through the healthcare exchange.  I believe that they are trying to help and make sure you have coverage, but at the same time, I have a sneaky suspicion that this is to get paid enrollment numbers that are reported to make the healthcare exchange and the UNAFFORDABLE care act look successful to the media and sleeping public.  Why else would they call after open enrollment has been closed for a month and a half now?

We purchased a top plan through the exchange and I am finding out right away, I'm a chronic pain patient, that the insurance company (Unity) does not seem to want to approve procedures that I had done under badgercare nor do they want to approve referrals by leaving us in the dark and taking their sweet time.

I also hear from reliable sources to be prepared for more insurance rate increases coming 1st of year!

I got a call from this number last night at work.... couldn't answer... but when i heard the voicemail, quite sure I haven't received any letter...

They said they sent me a letter

got call a 2:26 today.  said they were from state of wi.  told them to leave # for call back.  he stated the state of wi does not accept calls back!!!   bunch of baloney....

This is legitimate, however, i have no idea why these calls are SO late. Badgercare eligibility changed Jan 1st 2014. I don't remember receiving a letter, I might have if it was sent back in November.

I called this number.  I got a  recorded answer but the guy sounded like he was using some kind of voice suppressor or distorter that scammers from overseas sometimes use. Something odd about this.

if Obama wants to address healthcare, he needs to start with dental insurance companies. In the last 17 years, the amount they allow for the year has not changed even though the price of everything in dental has risen.

I also moved from WI to IA over 3 years ago so the state of WI has no reason to be calling me?

I got the same message today, exactly as everyone else stating that they were from the state of wi regarding a letter they had sent me. I didn't answer the call and judging from what others have said don't answer/give personal info. I received this call 3/12/14 @ 5:30pm

THIS IS A SCAM!! I called local county social services about this. They gave me a Madison number and I was told that the state does NOT solicit applicants for Badger Care for any reason.

Two times I have received a voice mail from this number and said it was regarding a letter that was sent. Is everyone posting on badger care? Did they get hacked and steal numbers?

Got a call from this number.  Left a message, stating the same as others have reported. State of Wi.  I think its a scam.  I applied at one time for badgercare, but I always give them my home phone number.  My cell phone is a pay as you go, so I'm getting really annoyed.  Using up my minutes, calling and leaving messages.

I just received a call from this number (02/19/14) which left a recorded message stating: "that it is an important phone call from the state of WI concerning a letter that was sent to me from the state of WI and that it is important for me to save their number into my contacts as they will call back concerning the state of WI." The message sounds like a scam as it kept repeating itself and truly, if it was the state of WI I'm pretty sure they would request I call them back! I have not received ANY such letter.

Phone rang in my purse and I did not answer. I remember looking at wall clock and it was like quarter to eight evening. Got home. Googled #. First website I checked said it is legit. I DID apply for obamacare way back last autumn and was told I could get medicaid and they would be sending something in mail but this call still seems too weird. Why call @ nite? Why no detailed message? Glad I found this site. I think these phone calls just cast a "net" hoping to fool someone who happened to apply for Badgercare, kind of like those "your CC card is about to be cancelled" emails I get even though I don't have a CC card. They get people with cards to panic and respond.

Called me on my cell, same as everyone else. I didnt answer, they left a message. The recording sounds like a scam in itself, the spokesman sounds a bit retarded and when he says to check my caller id to validate that it is the Staet of Wisconsin I knew right there its a scam.

Called me on my cell phone on 02/14/14 @ 2:13 pm.  Left the same message as others got.  Never received a "letter" from the state.  Seems most likely a scam as no one has reported getting the letter, nor the promised call back in a week or two.

I received this message on my cell phone on Thursday 2/6/14.  Then I received this message at work.  That is when I googled it and found this page.  The caller ID said it was BadgerCare Plus.  This all seems very odd.  I am definitly not giving any info out.  

I just received this call with the same info as above - it's during business hours, however the voicemail sounded like a recording. I don't trust this #. Sounds like a scam!

I received a call from this number at 7:45 p.m.. Normally they don't bother to call people this late unless it's a bill collector or a scammer. They left me no message at all. I was kicked off Badgercare though because I "gross too much money". I don't have enough to have a pot to piss in, but I "gross too much money". Go figure.

I'm contacting the local investigative reporters here in Milwaukee to see if they can get to the bottom of it. I got called at 7:45 pm too. No message though. I call Bull s*** too.

Didn't answer this number when they called, called back and got a voicemail right away saying State of Wisconsin Badger Care Plus, you may be calling this number back as a result of a message from us or saw the number on your caller ID, we are calling in regards to a letter you received. Plus leave a message and we will get back to you soon. Most Departments would have a message saying this is Jon Doe from Badger Care Plus, etc..or whatever even their voicemail sells them out as a SCAM!!!

If it was legitimate then why when you search for the number does it not come up anywhere.  I also just got the call about 10 minutes ago and will be calling the AG tomorrow to see if it legitimate or not.  Why would they call people that work and have insurance makes no sense to me at all.

In the voicemail, the caller didn't give his name. Instead, he said he was calling from the State of Wisconsin and I should look for another call within the next two weeks.

Sounds like a scam!

I got confirmation today from Lori Linde of the Wisconsin Dept of Administration that the number does indeed belong to the  Badger Plus care Program.  I is a legitimate call and number.  

Not to mention if it was the state calling they wouldiidentify what dept they where under...wether its health and human services or thestate corrections.
