Got a call from Ashley.  Pleasant enuf voice until I told her I was not interested.....That's as far as I got  before CLICK, and I was disconnected.  She didn't even let me finish the sentence that we just had them cleaned.  I would have asked her to call back in 6 months.  But no, I will not pick up any calls from Louhot again.  Stupid name for a company, anyway!  

She hung up on me when I called back to ask for a supervisor.

Uh-oh it's the Kirby sales ppl at it again. They use different company names and phone numbers to call you. If that doesn't work, they use the "fruit basket left at your door" trick. Just remember, don't talk to them, answer your door or return their call. Whatever you do, DON'T LET THEM ENTER YOUR HOME OR PROPERTY.

If you see them, call the police, especially if you have any elderly neighbors. Get their license plate# and take cell phone pictures. This company (Best, Paradigm or whatever) hires kids, then teaches them to LIE to customers. The kids fail to know that they won't get paid. Kirby keeps ALL the first weeks sales. Kid gets 1099 which means kid pays his own taxes, work comp, etc.

Horrible company. If you need a vacuum, just go the Target, Wal-Mart, etc and pay $40.00 or so instead of a $2000.00 Kirby and kids who may case your neighborhood.

These crooks were in Mission Hills/92103 today. Left the same note: For you a beautiful basket of fruit....with a fake reference number. Beware!

This is a creepy scam. This company goes by various names like Best Co, etc. Really it's a third-party telemarketing co for Kirby vacuums. They were in Claremont, 92111. Now they've relocated to the Miramar area in San Diego. Never return their calls or let them in your home. Do NOT tell them anything!

Some previous employees of this company kidnapped an elderly woman from her home, assaulted her, and placed her in the truck of her car. But she lived to testify against them. Beware!

Clarissa from "Paradigm" was promoting their new store that would be opening soon in the North County and would clean 3 rooms for free to help get their name out.  The phone number 858-558-8115 was given as the call back number.  Was told that there would not be any selling or pressure to purchase anything.  A survey question asking what type of vacuum cleaner I owned alerted me to maybe this was more than just carpet cleaning.  After reading these posts, I canceled my appointment.  No pressure to reschedule.

I wish I had read this first. Same scenario. Phone number 858-558-8115.  I asked for the company name and she said "Paradigm" which I couldn't find on google or yelp. I found this via the phone number. Gotta go now and cancel appt. I asked "what's the catch"?   and "will they try to up-sell me"? and she assured me this is a promotion so that we can get the name of the company out there. Very pushy.

Got the same note you got Gio. With the same reference number. Seems like they are starting up again. They are hitting Spring Valley today. Be careful everyone.

I also found a 'mysterious' note under the front door mat that they were trying to deliver a fruit basket.  Apparently, this note was stuffed under the doormat while I was home. Any legitimate delivery person would have rang the doorbell or knocked, with fruit basket in hand.

Left a note on my door indicating that they were trying to deliver a basket of fruit. Turned out to be a carpet company trying to get my business.

They are all over the place because they hire a whole bunch of new people EVERY FEW DAYS!!! based on false advertisement!

There was an ad on craigslist for CARPET SHAMPOOERS (San Diego) $2150/month promised in written agreement.

Of course many people who are looking for employment will answer an ad like that just to find out after a few days of so called 'orientation' or 'paid training' that they will be independent salesman for kirby vacuums. During these 'meetings' or 'orientations' or 'trainings' or whatever these poor suckers are hyped up with the promise of becoming very rich and making tons of money in very short time, and reaching 'financial independece'!

After a couple of days of orientation period they are all sent out with the little green notes about the fruit basket in different areas of the whole Southern California. Some are sent even further!

Sometimes they are just sent out to knock on peoples doors door-to-door to offer a free carpet shampooing so they can show off the 'kirby complete home care system'. During this demo these poor pawns than have to use every sales tactic in the book to be able to sell it for as much as $2157 basic unit +$199 for the shampooing kit plus plus plus who knows what they can come up with!

They only get payed if they can put on 60 demos in 30 days! But this is not clearly stated during the first orientation.

This is a TOTAL SCAM put on by different distributors for the kirby.

They must run many similar scam ads because there are many new 'trainees' every few days! Most of who leave after the first 'orientation'. Some stay a few days just to find out they have been working for free.

Don't fall for these scams! These people are total SCAM ARTISTS and they will do anything until you give in and buy!

Sorry for all those who thought they will get a free fruit basket! Some of them will end up with an expensive household equipment that they will rarely use.
And truly sorry for those pawns that do all the footwork for free!

Just google Best Company Promotions or kirby sales scams! They run under many different names and numbers. They have an F rating on BBB.

Best thing is to have a NO SOLICITORS sign, and if that doesn't work: a business end of a double barrel shotgun pointed at them through your mail slot in the door! :)

I just recently got married, we came back from our honeymoon, and I found this on our door, a little light brown paper, so I called the number sound like it's busy, so I tryed again at work and the same thing.  The paper says:

I google the number and I came about all this is just a scam.  People need to get a life and do better things than this, trying to get bussiness, and hurt people instead helping.  Hope they get them and get what they deserve.

Someone was knocking at my door. I looked through the peep hole to see a guy with a long coat on with his back to the peep hole. Could not see face. I did not answer it as I do not answer door to anyone I do not know. I stood there as he proceeded to put flyer in crack of the door. I heard him leave, grabbed flier and recieved flier with 858-565-1405 # and with reference # . Kind of creepy.

This is scary! I just got the same note at my doorstep today 05/20/2011. I live in Clairemont. I wonder if the police was ever informed of this since it seems to be pretty obvious that it is a scam??

THANKS FOR THE TIPS YOU GUYS, BUT I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THIS WEBSITE BEFORE. I SAW A "HELP WANTED" AD ON CRAIGSLIST, AND I CALLED THE NUMBER THAT WAS IN THE AD, AND I WAS SET UP FOR A JOB INTERVIEW. I WENT TO THE OFFICE, AND I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYTHING SO SHADY IN MY LIFE...I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ASSOCIATING YOUR SELF WITH THIS COMPANY NO MATTER WHAT!! THEY ARE A SCAM!!

My husband found them in craiglist offering carpet cleaning job or carpet installation and the add was a little funny to me so I goggled there number and I found these website thanks everyone......

don't use these guys, they came over and destroyed my carpet. The rep said he would have his supervisor call me, they never called. I called the next day and they said someone would call me back; no one called me back.  Do not use these guys.

Got one of these yesterday from best promotions; was also very suspicious of the pre-printed "reference number" and handwritten "Kim".  I recently read an article supposedly written by a professional burglar who said that he would often dress up like a legit courier/repairman/city worker etc. and leave a notice on the door.  Then he would drive through the neighborhood many times to see which notes had not been removed and target those homes (high likelihood of the residents not being home).  Scary stuff - hard economic times seem to bring out the crazies.  Even if this is a harmless marketing scam, keep your eyes and ears open in these uncertain times everyone.

Got a knock on my door today. I did not open my door because there was a man who looked like a gang banger outside it. When I didn't answer, he left a flier on my door. It read:

Do not call this. It is a scam. The man on the other side of my door had nothing with him, yet he was supposed to be delivering a "Basket of Fruit".  Also, the phone number is for a business in San Diego, but the flier was placed in North San Diego County. Too far for a fruit basket delivery. SCAM!!!

I got a call yesterday for free organic carpet cleaning and was told right up front that the company's name was The Best Company and his name was Micheal.  I was quite intriged by his offer, as I was thinking of calling a carpet cleaning company to do my carpets anyway. The only thing Micheal asked me to do was to refer friends and family to them for more carpet cleaning.  They were to come today and when they were late I decided go online and see what this so call "Best Company" was.  After reading these posts I call the number and cancelled my appointment. Of, course they wanted me to reschedule.  Kinda scary that I would have let these people in my home!!!  All I can say is beware of these kind of callers.  When it sounds to good to be true, it is just that!

Fruit basket note was stuck in our door here in East Chula Vista, thought at first we had missed a Christmas fruit basket while on vacation but I decided to look it up online to see about the company.  Thanks for all of you who have previously posted so that I know to throw the note away.

I got a phone call tonight talking about a new organic carpet cleaning that this company was doing. They spoke about how it would suck everything out of my carpets and leave them dry and no more stains. It didnt alarm me when she asked what kind of vacuum I owned, but Im glad I researched this. Thanks everyone for your past post to give me a fair warning. I just canceled my appt.

I forgot to mention...I DO have a "no solicitors" sign on my front door.  The "little green note" was left on my gate from where my sign can be clearly seen.

They were in my 'hood today...North Park.  My mom passed away recently and I thought someone was sending me a basket.  Glad I checked this out first.  I did not call.

Called them back and told them we have no use for their service, gave them my last name and they said they would remove us from their call list.  Now we wait to see.......

If you see these crooks call the police. You don't want these clowns in your neighborhood, believe me.
