I am repeatedly being called both on my cell phone and my landline from 1-866-849-2439.  I do not have any outstanding debts so why are they calling me?????I want these unsolicited and annoying calls STOPPED NOW. How do I make sure that they do stop???

I bought a new cell phone for my wife as a gift for christmas.  I wraped it and placed it under the tree this evening.  cell phone was not turned off so i could call the number christmas eve and suprise her.  this is a new provider with a new number so no one has the number.  Great plan until the box starts ringing and gives the suprise away.  short version 18668492439 was the missed call, i am pissed so mi call the number, get put on hold, then talk to a person, who ask for the number i am calling from. I tell her they must already have the number since they just called, by the way this was a gift for my wife and thanks for f***ing it up, when you have a present that is ringing its obvios whats inside.  All I know is this company seems to be hopeing to get lucky by calling numbers that are not related to the person who owes the bill, but may live in your town.  they are trying to get you to do their job for them by asking for this person in hopes you may know them and get info on them from you.  I say scr88w them, dont give out any information, even your name, info.     beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calls claims to be collecting for doctors bill but can't tell what hospital the bill is for. Also when I called them they started asking me for info that I felt they should already know if they were leget. My advise don't waste your time calling unless you are truly bored.

These so-called debt collectors are harrassing me daily, and when you call back they give some name you never heard of.

They are ALWAYS calling for my boyfriends ex-wife. They have been divorced 6 years. When I asked how they got this number after so long they try and tell me they have no iformation. Stupid laid kept me on hold 30 minutes for a supervisor. Never got tot speak to one.

ok so they were calling me everyday for i dunno a year or so, finally they sent me a letter. Yes i owed them monry. once i recvd the letter i paid the entire debt off in full. two weeks later they were calling me asking for a Mr. Handling, definetly NOT ME. i called to clear it up. i said this number called me asking fo so and so and they hung up on me!

NCO has been calling almost daily for at least a year, trying to contact my adult son, who used my phone number several years ago as a contact number.
Today I googled the number they left on the message, found a link to NCO, and called the number listed for Texas callers (I live in Texas).  When I requested they remove my number from their call list, they agreed to do so without objecting or asking any questions.  Perhaps Texas has more stringent laws regarding debt collection agencies.

I called and got through. I actually called the corporate office in Horsham, PA, and asked for the CEO of the company (whose name I got off their website). When the receptionist asked me what it was about, I told her the truth. So she put me through to Customer Service instead of the CEO (I guess she likes her job) and I just told them the score -- that I'm getting these calls and don't owe anyone anything. THey told me the name they have associated with my telephone number, I told them that it's not me, and they (if she's telling the truth)  removed my number from the database.

This freakin number (866.849.2438) calls me every day, at least twice. I never answer, I don't know the Number so why would I?? I have had my mobile number for two years and this started a few months ago?? Today is the first time that they have left a message. It is the same s**t that everyone else is saying. I don't wanna give Ms. Mclain a call. She can go screw herself!!! I don't have any outstanding debt out there. Also, if this was real someone on here made the comment that why would they leave a recorded message on my phone?? I believe it is a scam, and I will ignore it all....

This is a collection agency. I suspect they're trying to get me to pay on a debt that is 12 years old.

A financial advisor once told me that there is no sense on paying on a debt that is over 7 years old. It is what it is, it's already affected your credit score, and paying it off at that point won't change a thing.

Let it go.

I agree that calling them with a fictitious name will stop all future calls to you.

Phone messages say this company is Asset Care Inc. They are trying to collect on an old debt which should no longer be on the books and which they have no right to collect. They want to collect this money but do not offer a mailing address to send payment, they insist that the transaction be done directly over the phone with no proof that they are entitled to payment. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PAYMENT!!!

Same thing here. I receive daily calls from this number. I've tried to call back and they say an agent is not available. This is during their supposed normal business hours. This is annoying to say the least

I have been getting phone calls from 866-849-2439.  They called today and I answered the phone, and a recording announced that I had a bad debt, and I needed to call them back at 866-849-2439.  FIRST of all, IF I had a bad debt, why would a company call me using a recorded message?  When I called back, Cyrstal said it was "Asset Care Collection Agency", (I pressed for an address) and she said the address is P.O. Box 15380, Willington, Delaware 19850.  She said that was their mail box, and would not give me the physical address of their company.  I asked for the President's name and she would not give it.  She said it was a bunch of investors and I asked their names and she only said it is Asset Care.  So no one has a name?  What kind of scam is this???  She said she was looking for a Mary at my cell number.  Mary Isabell?  Who!!! She said she would take me off the calling list. I will let you know if she doesn't.  What type of scam are they trying to pull here?  All I can say is BEWARE, and do not give out any information! I will report this incident to the phone company and to the Post Office.

The same thing happened to me. I finally went to their website and called the Consumer Hotline phone number... 800-550-9619.

They at first asked for my name...I gave them the reference number first. Pulled up the account...asked for my name to verify the name on the account...gave a face name...and they put me on the do not call list. Let's see how long tht lasts....

These guys have been calling us for years. They know my wife's fist and last name but have her middle name wrong.  They want to collect unpaid debt from this person, which is not my wife, and whom we know lives, or lived, in our town. We just hang up or call them AHs. The guy that runs this outfit, I have been told is a real 'sleaze bag'. And imho he is just that.
Even though he is calling the wrong number, we continue to tell him off, or the employees he has because he has no idea who he is calling, he is just trying to rake the bottom of the fish tank. I have told him he has the wrong person, but that doesn't matter. He keeps calling. Maybe once I get tired of this foolishness I will contact a lawyer and have him sued for harassment.

Upon answering a recording says "hello" and then after a pause "goodbye"  WTF?

I too received calls from this company.  When I called the number back and spoke to a representative, they new who I was without me giving any information.  I can only assume that they pulled my name from the caller ID.  When I questioned the "outstanding debt", they referenced a medical bill from "2003, no that is not correct it was 1993".  When I asked for information to contact the hospital (a Baptist Hospital ER) to contest the bill, the representative transfered me to a senior manager who then asked me to verify if the last 4 digits of my social was XXXX, which was not correct.  The representative then said that they had the wrong Keith.  I asked how they got my current phone number associated with this debt from another person when I was just 19 at the time of the charge, and did not have this phone number.  The senior manager ended the call.  

Seems to me like they are searching for names of outstanding debt holders through phone records and calling all people that match...

I am receiving calls from this number up to a dozen times a day on both my personal and business landlines..........it has gotten so bad that I have begun leaving my personal line off the hook for days at a time, and I have been forced to take the business line off the hook after hours because of the level of calls coming in from this number.  They have called as early as 7am CST and as late as 11pm CST, including Sundays. The b***h of it is that they are looking for someone I have never heard of, and I AM on the DO NOT CALL list.

they are a collector, in my case it is not me they want, I owe no one but they call my unlisted number that is on the do not call list. I have now reported them the BBB in PA. THE ATTERNY GENERAL in PA. As well as my home state. I will see if this will do any good. I now have a cease and desist letter that will be mailed in the morning. I do not know how this will work seeing how it is not my dept.
