1-877-428-7474 calls me 4 times every night. The number is showing up each time on the call ID.  The phone never rings. I have tried to call the number to find out who it could possibly be but only get modem noises. Who could this be?

I get inbound calls between 4am-6am every night, phone never rings, but shows on my logs dont know what or who it is.  Sometimes it shows during the afternoon time... I had this same problem with another phone carrier around the same time, not sure if that was a different number.  Could this number possibly scan phone numbers on the phone lines with the intention of selling it to scammers to make unwanted calls to people?

It's your DirecTV receiver calling DirecTV, "checking in".

It looked like a pay phone number however, if what you are saying is true, its more than likely not a pay phone.

Don't know honestly. Call your phone company and ask them about the number
