I'm planning to get rid of my AT&T landline.  Too many unsolicited, obnoxious calls.  Even when I have my answering machine on I have to hear their obnoxious, background boiler room sounds, "hello, hello", mispronunciation of our name, 'private calls', 'unknown calls', calls at evenings, on Sunday night.  I will not pay an additional monthly service fee to block these calls because I do not believe that AT&T is doing their due diligence to block or identify the callers.  In fact, they profit when customers, such as myself, buy additional services such as caller ID and call blocking features.  It's time to fight back against AT&T's telecommunications monopoly and the government's lack of enforcement.  BOYCOTT AT&T. Do what you can to get the telemarketer and AT&T bottom feeders and profit mongers out of your life, as much as possible.

Calgirl here again.  I received a second call today. Thanks for the information Al, the previous poster.  It looks like this call did originate from Antioch given the prefix number.  It also makes sense that it is a contractor given there are a number of contractors in that area.  We have also been receiving a number of unsolicited calls from contractors.  

Advice to others: Never, ever pick up the phone when the call is not clearly identifiable!  I have found that the solicitors just call you more if you do.  It has been said, but is worth repeating, don't ask them to take you off their 'do not call' list, most likely they will not, especially if they engage in the unscrupulous practice of constantly calling and harassing you.

My clients are in CA, so unfortunately I have to answer all of these calls.  today's offender from this number simply hung up.  But calling back I have 'reached a number that is disconnected or no longer in service'.

Left boiler room message on the recording.  Can hear background noise of others in call room.  Mispronunciation of our name and no identification of who they are and what they want gives it away it's not legit.  Caller ID Identifies it as CALIFORNIA and then the phone number 925-660-6630.

NEVER ANSWER THESE CALLS?  BTW: These companies lie when they prompt you to push 1 to remove yourself from call list.  Don't pick up the phone or talk to them or ask them to remove your name.  It will not help.  The more you respond, the more they call.
