I am quasi-primary care giver to a friend nearby. They received a call from 201 442 7300. my patient/friend picked up and the gal started asking questions. The phone was handed to me. I asked was she (the caller) a Care Corp employee? I was told she was. I ask why then, my caller id identified the call as "UBS Financial?" The caller attempted to explain that she was calling WITH (not on behalf of) Care Corp and MVP Health Care. She went on to pitch, while in no way answering my concern. I told her that I had another call coming in & would call back if interested. I then hung up. Research then commenced. Turns out that Care Corp contracts at least part of it's outbound confirmation to outside vendors or contractors. Likely the call was legit if poorly thought out. I would suggest to anyone to err on the side of caution. I would also suggest to any large company...if you are going to pay an outside contractor, go the addt'l 2-5% expense to have them monitored so the contractor is not lying (yes lying) to your database about who they are. Trust is earned.

Tiff,

You say "Do your research" and "Have a nice day" but funny your link sends me to a site that does not have the same contact info as the party that called me.

I received a call from them, but they didn't leave a message. I decided to check them out on the internet and found this site. I do have a medical procedure scheduled for next week. I don't care if they are legit or not, if they call back, I WILL NOT give them any info. My doctor and my insurance company has all the info they need. THEY can call me if they need anything else. Or they can ask me when I get there.

I got this same call from CareCore as well. I didn't answer the phone call, so they left me an automated message asking me to call to verify my information. I called them, and they asked me to provide them with my information to verify my identity and inform me of the status of the pre-authorization requested by my physician for an MRI. They are legitimate however, if they want to gain trust in their patients, they ought to refrain from automatic messages that ask the patient to call and verify their own personal information. These are classic signs of phishing.

Legit - this company called me today to give me an OK authorization that my insurance would cover my MRI ... and Yes, my doctor called yesterday to schedule a MRI for my knee. You do not need to call them back as they also give this info to your doctors office.

I was contacted by Care Corp and do not have ant procedures or radiology now, in my past or future.  This is a scam operation mining for personal information.  Funny I do not have MVP insurance either.  So this company is monitoring this site to reply to antone that calls it what it is. A scam operation. Don't be fooled hang up on them

People are so paranoid but I understand.

I use to work for this company and there's a department that makes outbound calls to remind you of radiology procedures each year. ie mammograms, ultrasounds, bone density/X-ray test. Or more diagnostic radiology procedures that requires precertifications such as:
? Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
? Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)
? Positron Emission Tomography (PET Scans)
? Computerized Tomography (CT Scans)
? Nuclear Medicine Studies (including Nuclear Cardiology)

You are called to receive Private Health Information and before any info is released your DOB and other demographics must be verified to protect you. Maybe someone in the household isn't aware of you having any type of testing. This is only a courtesy call to give you the approval number before anyone else is able to obtain it. An authorization number is like a lottery ticket to the medical world. I understand all doubtfulness but your doctor has a relationship with this third-party company thru your insurance company. You can always hang up & call the company direct or call your doctor. It is not a scam. Do your research people. Have a nice day!

I don't care if this *IS* Carecore calling, you should *NEVER* give any personal info to strangers who call you --  a good way to get phished.

Funny.  I'm reading all the posts and do believe it's a BS call.  While there may be a 'CareCore' in the US, I live in Northern Canada so find it amusing that a New Jersey company would be calling me to remind me of the "procedure" and to ask my DOB.
Maybe it's the same as those "Fentel" folks who call you saying they are calling on behalf of "RBC Bank"...(RBC banks tells me they never outsource like that).  All 6 (or 7) phone numbers that call all offer up the same representative name, but hang up abruptly when you ask questions.

I actually work for Carecore, The call you're getting is just a courtesy call to let you know that your procedure was approved, and to give you your authorization number for your doctor. What sounds like a recording is actually a required "verbatim" script that we have to read.

Notification also goes to your doctor so if you get a call from carecore and you don't want to verify your information (DOB and address), you can always call them.
