i received a phone  call  stating they were irs; owed me money  I never called them i knew it was not true. SCAMMERS need to be arrested by the IRS

i have a family member that works for the irs and she said its a scam not to call them back she is reporting it right now so that hopefully noone else will send them money and end up loosing in the end they might have some of your info but when you call they will get more so please dont call them back and dont give them or confirm any of your info if they call and you pick up.

That 202 number just called my boyfriend, It sounded good, but to good to be true.  I called the 1-800 829-1040 number that we all call for refund information.  They told him he was not getting any money from them.  These 202 phone number guys all had middle eastern accents saying they were from the IRS.  They know information about you like your routing number, your whole social security number and other personal info.  THESE GUYS FROM THIS 202-379 PHONE NUMBER ARE SCAM ARTIST.  The guy who called us said his name was Mike Wager.  This obviously was no Mike Wager.  They sounded a little convincing accept for the fact that all the employees at the "IRS" are from the middle east now.  YEAH RIGHT.

Received a call stating they were the IRS and that 2,173.00 was owed to me..However I called this number to verify it was actually the IRS calling was transferred to a representative with a broken accent. I told them I was verifying their creditably  and they just said good-bye...DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OUT CHECKING FIRST...THIS IS A SCAM...

They just called and asked for my info claiming to be the IRS and saying that they have a refund for me. They knew the last four of my social. I was skeptical, because I missed filed before and was contacted by the IRS threw the mail and not a phone call.  I asked if they mailed a statement to my house informing me of the situation as was done previously by the IRS. My question was ignored and then they proceeded to tell me agin about how much money I would receive. It felt funny to me all along so I researched the number and XO DC, INC. came back as the name anda not IRS. I then googled the number and came across this post.
The number I was called from was 202.379.1923. It really didn't make since to charge me a penalty and not deduct the funds from the amount owed. I am desperate for money, but I'm glad I researched things first.

They call in on blocked numbers dont call back...or block you number when you do...then if your like me cb and have some fun with them. I loved it.

we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers and  scammers  working  out  of , but  not  limited  to.....  in  INDIA /  THAILAND /  AFRICA /  JAMAICA    ETC....

***   THESE    LOW  LIFE  LOSER  SCUMS  ALSO   IMPERSONATE   US  GOV'T  AGENCIES AND   OFFICIALS  (   CIA  /  FBI  /  IRS   )    AMONG  MANY  OTHERS..........


they  will  at  times  leave   obviously  fake  messages   that   they  " have  caught  you "  in  some  type  of  mysterious   drug   operation  and    related   fake  stories  / messages"...........(  just  one  of  numerous     fake  stories  )....others  noted  below.............

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

They said they were from the IRS and that i had money that was still owed to me from the last couple of years

they called me saying that they where from the irs and that i had 2,150.93 that was own to me but i had to pay 180.00 for them to send me the money in the mail.

I received a call from this number. They left a message and I was skeptical because the IRS knows where u r. Your address and everything. They would have written me. As bad as I need 2000 I decided to not call and just look up the number online.

I received call this morning 11-24-12 saying that I was going to receive an additional $2,000.  All I had to do was call this number and comfirm my identity to receive it.  Yes, another scam obviously.  Boy I wish I had nothing to do all day except think up scams to get people's money.  The sad part is some poeple will believe this.

Someone from the phone number 1-202-379-923 & 1-202-499-1598, called saying they were from the IRS, I was told that  $2180 was owed to me, but I had to pay $160 for penalties & fines. I complied. Then was told to pay an additional $200 for penalties & fines cause more money was owed in the sum of $3978. I also complied with the $200. I was told both times to put the money on a Green Dot Money Pack Card. When I realized it was a acam. I asked for my money back, they did not refund my money. Now every time I call they hang up on me.

this number called me and left a message saying they owe me $176 didnt return the call as i obviously realized it is a scam, Stupid what a joke!

Just got a call from this number claiming they were the IRS saying they owe me over $2000, of course thought it was a scam right away so googled the number and found this site.

someone called me from this number saying that i was going to get some money from the IRS first of all they don't owe me nothing this is totally a scam and something needs to be done about this because this is awful, and these people need to be put in Jail.

Some called me from this number saying I was owed a refund from the IRS and I believe it is scam would someone put a stop to them trying to scam hard working honest people.

I just got a call this morning saying that I had an additional $178 refund owed to me, BUT I needed to verify my info first before they would process the refund (directly to my bank account). I might've been born at night...But it wasn't LAST NIGHT! Keep trying thieves...by the way, if they are trying to steal my identity, I don't have any credit as I don't own any credit cards (i.e. I live off the cash I make)...and if they are trying to steal my money, they need to get in line behind the "socialist in cheif" (i.e. "BO"). Nice try!!!

I recieved a message from this number stating that they were from the IRS and that i was entitled to over 2000.00 and that I needed to call back to confirm my info. When i called back they knew the last four of my ssn and had me to confirm and then stated that an audit was done in which they found that i was owed over 2000.00 but in order for it to be placed into my acct. I would need to send them a penalty fee amt of 168 by greendot card because they could not accept my card over the phone. I knew something had to be up with this when they asked me to send them money. This is a total and complete scam and it is very troubling to know that people can do this and get away with it. I cant imagine how many people have fallen for this and actually sent them money thinking that they were going to get something in return. This is just terrible.

Just got a call from this number, a synthesized voice telling me that I had a refund of $2000+ due from the IRS, and that I should call the number and authenticate myself to get the refund. Obviously a scam.

I received a call from this number stating that they where the IRS.  I need to send them $189 first using a green dot card. Then I would receive my $2000 that the IRS owes me. I knew something was up cause they wanted me to send the money the same day. The IRS as I know doesn't make phone call the send letters. Two they are not asking for a payment threw the greendot card. These people knows my name address and phone number god only knows what else they have of mine. I sent an e mail to consumer team 8 to have this looked into. It's scary to know that people u give ur information to cant secure it. Wherever they received my information from needs to be held accoutable for this.
