This is an extortion scam operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

I get a call from these people stating this message is for me and I'm in trouble, blah blah blah.  You owe money, blah, blah, blah.  And you're in federal trouble if you don't pay - etc.  BS and a scam

they are saying their name is david admam today...they are A## holes I get at least one call a week at my work to, I have had this problem for years!!

These people are such idiots. I stopped answering calls to numbers that I don't recognize ever since I got my identity stolen last year. Some Indian dude left me a voicemail that I could barely understand. But I got the same info as you guys did- Sean Williams from the Federal Crime Investigation Department. Right. "Sean Williams" - who has a thick Indian accent and can barely speak English. So annoying- idiots.

Some Indian guy speaking extremely poor English said he is calling from FCI - Federal Crime Investigation.  If my attorney does not return his call, I will be in big trouble with the police.  I told him "OK - send the police.  I will have the coffee ready for them when they arrive."  He hung up on me.  It was the best laugh I had in a week.  I blocked the number and reported the call to my State Attorney General's office.

got call this am. said he was shawn williams from the federal crime investigation dept.  said it was a serious legal matter.  If I do not respond with in 2 hr he will take legal action.  said I owe on a payday loan wanted to know why I was not paying.  I hung up after realized this was a scam but he called back and left a nasty message saying I did not have good intentions.  really try to scare you

These people say that i owed them money, but cant give me any info of how much i owe or when i took the loan out.  every time i call them back i cant anyone who speaks any English! And they call for all kinds of area codes one number 302 894-3496, another 202 499-1493 and 202 821-4791, if they are a secure  company why so many different numbers? And if you are in that kind of business no matter how much the customer yells, you never raise your voice back at them. SCAMERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Rec'd call from this number- these are scam artists trying to get people to pay for so-called loans they don't owe.   I usually get the phone number right off the bat - tell them I'm turning the number over to the PA Atty Gen office.   It doesn't stop them from calling - they call from tons of different numbers but they all have the same purpose.  Remember they are SCAMS!!!!!
