I got a call today, recording stating it had to do with my IRS refund, and they needed to verify my information.. He could hardly speak clear english... When I called, they said that I owed the IRS 2000, and I needed to pay a late fee, I started laughing, and informed them, that I have a Lic CPA, do my taxes, and I will call the IRS tomorrow, he got really rude, and them I hung up.. They then began to call my phone repeatly. 8 times in a roll....LOL. This is a true scam...

I received the same call telling me i had a irs refund in the amount of 2173 I called the number back and got some recordind that hung up immediately hung up on me its a scam

yes i was told the same thing!!  Send 200 dollars and i will get a refund of 2173.00..they need to be put on blast..

Got a vsmg this morning. I didn't even return the call. They assume that I don't know my own tax information. I OWE money,so why would I be getting a refund? They need to check their sources f....idiots.

Complete scam- The IRS or anyone for that matter calling for a legitimate reason would ever ask you for your personal info . #1, the IRS sends you a letter (sent me a letter and a check for $212 last year for an over payment ). #2, you NEVER have to pay money to get your money. #3, they will already have all your info- tell them to send a letter- never verify personal info over the phone , especially if they call you& and you didn't initiate the call yourself. I spent the last 27 years in banking and these scams occur all the time. If you have money coming, you'll find out thru the mail and it will be a ligit phone number. Also - you never win a lottery that you didn't enter and remember , you NEVER have to pay money to get YOUR money

YEA THEY CALLED ME TO AND WHATS SO SCARY THEY HAD THE LAST 4 OF MY SOCIAL AND THEY KNEW THEE BANK I BANKED WITH AND THEY SAID THEY HAD MY ROUTING AND ACCOUNT NUMBER THEY DIDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY OWE ME MONEY BUT I HAD A 200 DOLLARPENTLY I HAD TO SEND THEM AND THEY WOULD PUT 2173.00 IN MY ACCOUNT AFTER THEY RECEIVE THE 200.00 FROM ME

This is really a scam. IRS will send you a letter and not call you.

Yes, I recieved a call this morning. Every suspicious number that calls my phone, I google it. My luck isn't that good for the IRS to owe me $2000. Lol

Calls my cellphone numerous times.  I called the number back and someone with Middle Eastern accent said hello.  I informed him that someone had called my phone and he asked what my number was.  I asked who he was and he said IRS.  I asked for his employee ID number and they hung up.

sounded very suspicious to me as well and what is scary is that they had the last 4 digits of my social. IRS would definitely send a letter by mail.

Thank God for google.com! I googled this number and found all of you hear and your posts and/or reportings! I thought it seemed suspicious! I know scams are out there; and this is one BIG one! Thank God for His protection over all of us!

Got a voicemail from them stating they were the IRS and called back. Spoke with a Mike Wagner ID# 013747 when I asked for a letter from them they hung up on me. This is a total scam and I hope they lose my number.
